Very nice and friendly Check-in
Great location. Breakfast is great staff is great.
Elevator. So so sketchy. All the money for the hotel room. It can at least feel like we aren’t going to die. Door slams in the beginning every time. Then squeals the whole way. And jumps at floor 4.

I loved everything about this property. The location is amazing. Close to all the shops and restaurants. The staff were super friendly and Michele at the front desk was very helpful in letting us know all the things Monterey had to offer. The harbor view was absolutely gorgeous. Watching the sea lions on the beach was an incredible experience. Having a complimentary breakfast served in the room was something I’ve never experienced before and was such a nice touch.
I would highly recommend Monterey Bay Inn and look forward to staying here again.

Breakfast delivered to the room every morning was a treat. Our harbor view room was perfect & clean. We left our balcony screen door open the entire time. Great location. We parked our car when we got there and we walked everywhere. .
We didn't like leaving.

Good location and helpful staff. Unfortunately, these were the main positives of our stay.
The hotel feels old and quite dated. There is parking under the building, but the spaces are tight. Although it is covered, the parking area is open and unsecured, so anyone from the street can access it.
The room was small, the furniture was worn, and overall the interior did not feel very inviting.
For the price, I definitely do not think it offers good value. I assume the location is the main reason why such average, or even rather poor, hotels can charge these prices in Monterey. It is a small town, yet hotel prices can be similar to, or even higher than, those in Los Angeles or San Francisco.
The breakfast was honestly a joke.

Continental breakfast wasn't great, had shells on my hard boil egg fruit wasn't very fresh

the hotel is a little bit outdated but well maintained.
What I like about the property is that it’s on the beach.
What I DID NOT like about the property was that it is $500 a night with no microwave I say that because it’s a tourist town & we eat out with leftovers no way to heat them up, the “breakfast” was well Novato be desired, and it felt more like a motel.
