No fridge ac was not functioning too much noise
the unique architecture. clean and spacious room. Nice location.
The extra $25 parking charge was not clearly indicated at the booking. I was aware of it only when check-in. The free continental breakfast is quite a disappointment.
Fabulous breakfast.
Beautiful room with vaulted ceilings.
Beautiful outdoor interior courtyards with fountains.
Only steps away from the bike path and Fisherman's wharf but quiet and safe.
Intimate low slung buildings.
It’s convenient and is within walking distance of popular sites.
Our rooms ac was not working, parking was awful. And to top it off elevator broke down which was inconvenient getting the family out for check out.
Centrally located. Top floor Junior Suite room was a good size and the updated decor was an improvement.
Older property. Street frontage is loud. Windows to the from did not completely close and let a lot of noise in - requires maintenance.
Leaving
The toe nails in the bathtub the mold and all the fees your not told about
breakfast
walk to breakfast, tv remote not working, website deceptive because no beachfront
Molto rumorosa la camera, pareti e mobili rovinati, pulizia al limite del decente
My family stayed here for two nights as part of an itinerary from the American road trip company.
It was located just up from the old fisherman’s wharf which was an ok walk. I felt very safe around Monterey in all honesty!
Breakfast was like a free for all - I swear people were just walking in off the street ! The choice was pathetic so only went the first day. It was included so didn’t complain just didn’t bother going again.
The rooms are very spacious- have a fire, sofa and table and chairs. Our room had a balcony too.
The fountain wakes you up outside at 8am everyone morning when it is turned on.
I did get bitten when I’d sat on the sofa - not sure what by but it made me feel horrible. I know the property allows dogs so maybe fleas not sure but it didn’t feel like a clean property.
It is quite dated.
If the location wasn’t as good I’d have scored it less. Wouldn’t stay here again.
Breakfast was fantastic and hotel very clean!
Excellent location! The hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown Monterey and the pier, so we rarely needed to use our car. A huge bonus was being able to leave our vehicle in the parking structure while we enjoyed our catamaran tour on Monterey Bay. The convenient location made our stay stress-free and allowed us to fully enjoy everything the area has to offer.
The fireplace was not the easiest to start with matches.
Great rooms for family, so close to all the locations, cannery row , warf, walkable to great restaurants.
Time for some minor repairs in the bathrooms, sticking doors, painting.
While the hotel on the outside seems lovely and quaint it needs a lot of work. It is old and in disrepair. Street noise is bad. Other reviews have discussed this so I will go right to my immediate issues.
The first room we got was lovely but the refrigerator was not working. I called the front desk and they said someone would come to take care of it.
While we were waiting for 45 minutes, the ice machine outside our door was constantly in use, right by the bed. And above us someone was stomping around so much the room shook. At that point I wanted to switch rooms.
I requested a new room, we brought all our stuff over to a much lesser room but no one above us at least.
Guess what? This fridge completely iced over, not working either.
I went downstairs, told the front desk that while I appreciated the room switch this fridge didn’t work either and could they fix it asap as it’s now been an hour and a half and we would like to relax.
They said they would do their best.
No real apology for our trouble. Or that both fridges not working, or an inferior room.
They have now replaced the fridge. But unfortunately our evening is not what we hoped for.
And as other guests stated $25 for parking in their garage is ridiculous. I paid it as I don’t want park on the street. But ridiculous. Not happy.
