Best ocean view and walkable to the beach
Pros:

Loved the view from the hotel, it was so nice and relaxing getting to come out to the patio and watch the waves come in. The room was the best, since I took family it was nice to go grab some snacks and be able to cook meals in the kitchen, best money saver!

Cons:

The price was a bit much for one night, however considering the location, hotel it's self I say this would be a great splurge when able to do. Already looking up dates to return!

Terrific location for the views, but no onsite dining and limited food options nearby.
Pros:

Spacious room with a view of the golf course and even a side view of the beach. Property location on the hill above the ocean was terrific. Lots of group gathering spaces around the property.

Cons:

Surprised at the lack of a food venue/options at the hotel. Close enough to walk into Avila Beach, but there is no sidewalk on the property down to the main road - that seems like a huge oversight and a safety issue. Perhaps most people get their own food and use the kitchens extensively, but we were there for a more limited stay (a CalPoly. graduation) and would have appreciated something more than the limited snacks offered in the lobby. More firepits!

Beautiful location
Pros:

The location was nice and it was pretty. The main bed was comfortable and they have nice towels.

Cons:

It was crazy expensive for a property without any real onsite amenities. Elevators were not great and it was really loud in the rooms from other people in the halls and other rooms. The sleeper sofa is a nice size but only suitable for children to sleep on.

Wonderful place if you have an ocean view. Don’t stay in room 209.
Pros:

Love the pool, hot tub, location

Cons:

Room 209 has a view of parking lot. The canned musak from lobby comes into the room 24/7. The front office said they turned it down at night but we still heard it. Glad I had earplugs.

Don't expect an ocean view.
Pros:

The location was nice and so were the people that work there. It is nice to have a kitchen to cook in.

Cons:

We were told we were getting an ocean front room, if available. It turns out, those are never available, so there was no hope for it. Our screen door was broken, the closet, which was a tiny wardrobe, was broken. Once we were there I was texted that there was no house keeping. We had to ask for additional towels and for someone to pick up the garbage, after two days. We were told days before our arrival that the hotel lobby was under construction. Then we found a cockroach in the kitchen. See photo for view as I strained my camera to the left.

SO BAD
Pros:

We have stayed here before, and while I can say, the new renovations are nice, all of my good comments end there.

During the 10 minutes it took me to check in, I witnessed a woman come in at 4 PM and be told her room would not be ready until 5 PM no apology given just told “housekeeping has a lot of rooms to clean.” I also witnessed a man come in visibly frustrated, saying that maintenance had knocked and requested entry multiple times when he had a do not disturb sign on the door. Another guest came in and was requesting sheets because the sheets that had been left for the pullout couch were not the right size and she had called the evening before multiple times and nobody ever brought her a sheet. Keep in mind those are three instances that happened just while I was standing there for check-in. I can only imagine the other issues that were had.

Personally, I called multiple times for pool towels and other towels and was told that the housekeeper was busy and she’d be there with they could. I got the stuff I needed only half of the time. I asked for our trash cans to be emptied, and only half of the trash cans in the room were emptied. The door to our room would not open unless you gave it a good kick or threw your shoulder into it, which is absolutely ridiculous. Empty Vending machines, subpar service to say the least.

No one who worked there was incredibly welcoming, and overall they claimed to be short staffed, but we had issues and throughout our entire stay.

Incredibly uncomfortable couch bed too.

This stay was absolutely horrendous and disappointing.

Beautiful location, but felt a little lack of hospitality in a accommodating
Pros:

We love the location used to stay there years ago when my parents were in the timeshare, but they have passed on in elderly things are a bit different now

Cons:

We booked on Booking.com from the pictures. We thought we were getting a separate room and not just a studio when we told them of that there was nothing they did about it so the pictures were misleading and also because they’re under remodeling their front area. There’s a lot of happen to go around. Also, the vending machines were priced ridiculously no even change.
