A comfortable stay in a suite close (closest) to a museum worth anyone's time.
Pros:

We loved the close location to the Glass museum. The staff provided tips on places to eat and when we didn't feel like going out there were adequate snacks and even ready made meals to heat up in our kitchenette. We could chill things in the fridge we had bought at the Ithica Market (a great place) and we loved the roominess of having the couch and separate bathroom and vanity. The bed was comfortable. The dvd player was a surprise. I actually wish this was an option in more hotels. We have our anniversary dvd we like to watch each year. Breakfast was adequate, clean.

Cons:

I think it was a bit of a trek to the room no matter where you entered from, but that made it all the more private. I really enjoyed it.

We left our room (checked out) after checking in

Cons:

Found that the toilet was not cleaned and had hair and pubic hair in it from previous guests. Could not trust cleaning of rest of room hotel. Staff manager was snarky after issuing refund “hope your next hotel is cleaner”…and the Hilton we stayed at was CLEAN and had nicer staff.

Spacious rooms near Corning, NY attractions
Pros:

We just returned from a four-night visit to Corning, NY, during which we stayed at Staybridge Suites Corning by IHG. This was our first stay at this IHG brand, which is comparable to Marriott's Residence Inn brand. In other words, this is a longterm stay hotel that is available to travelers like us making a short visit.

We booked and received a one-bedroom, two-bed suite, which includes a full kitchen, a couch and sitting area, and was incredibly spacious overall. The bathroom and shower all worked great, although there was a bit of noise sometimes while moving one's feet around in the tub while taking a shower. We did not try the breakfast, which is included.

Since the hotel is located near the main east-west interstate highway, we asked for a room located away from the highway in a quiet area. The hotel did a great job accommodating us in that regard, and the room was far away from any road noise. The rooms at this hotel can be a bit noisy from the hallway and nearby rooms, however.

The hotel is within convenient walking distance of the Corning Glass Museum's visitor's center, and from there it is an even shorter walk to the Museum itself. Downtown Corning, NY is just a five-minute drive from the hotel, and frequent (free-of-charge) Corning Glass Museum shuttles are available while the museum is open to get from the museum to downtown Corning. It is also approximately a 30- to 45-minute drive from the hotel to nearby towns located on the Finger Lakes.

All-in-all, our first stay at the Staybridge Suites brand was a good one.
