It was a great stay overall.
Pros:

It is a nice hotel very close to the Keleti train station. The staff was supportive and nice. Breakfast was ok, room was neat and clean.

Cons:

No slippers in the room
No welcome water bottle.

Very disappointing stay – ended up moving hotels
Pros:

We stayed at the Baross City Hotel in Budapest as part of a Jet2 holiday (25–29 January 2026), and unfortunately our experience was so poor that we felt we had no option but to leave and book alternative accommodation for our own comfort and wellbeing.

From the start, we didn’t feel particularly secure in the hotel. We initially slept with the window open but later closed it after disturbances in the courtyard made us feel uneasy. The hotel was advertised as having air conditioning, but this wasn’t available, leaving the room far too hot and uncomfortable to sleep properly.

Noise was a major issue. There seemed to be no sound insulation at all — we could hear constant movement from neighbouring rooms, and loud courtyard noise started from around 5am each morning. It was impossible to get a decent night’s sleep.

Breakfast was also very disappointing. The choice was extremely limited and the quality poor — the eggs were grey and clearly not fresh, and overall the food was not appetising or up to the standard you’d expect on a package holiday.

Although Jet2 describes the hotel as “2-star plus” and the hotel advertises itself as 3-star, in reality it felt very dated, run down and poorly maintained — not even what we’d expect from basic budget accommodation.

When we raised concerns with reception, they were largely dismissed. We explained clearly why we were leaving for another hotel, but nothing was done to address the issues.

Sadly this experience added unnecessary stress and extra cost to what should have been an enjoyable trip to Budapest. I wouldn’t personally recommend staying here.

Pros:

Breakfast is good .. Room is specious .. Location is near to railway stations and connectivity is good .

Cons:

In Room bathroom door lock is not working , Some times hot water is not coming and no basic necessities in bathroom .
