Great hotel
Pros:

A lovely boutique hotel. Staff were outstanding. Room was good size with comfortable bed and a large bath with walk-in shower with bench. There is a small pool and outdoor area, bar and restaurant offering good food. Continental breakfast includes yogurt, muesli, fruit and pastry.

Very near Universal studio and convenient to Hollywood. Many restaurants within walking distance in a safe neighborhood.

Cons:

Nothing

Disastrous Stay — Broken Toilet, False Fire Alarm, and Rude Check-In
Pros:

I wish I could give this stay a better review, but unfortunately almost everything went wrong. The toilet in my room was broken on arrival; maintenance came quickly to fix it, but it continued to run loudly all night, making it nearly impossible to sleep.

As if that wasn’t enough, I was jolted awake by a fire alarm at 4:45 AM, which turned out to be false. On top of the disrupted sleep, noise from the guests above me also continued throughout the night.

Check-in was equally frustrating. I arrived about an hour early from stated check in and hoping to drop off bags and were told the room wasn’t ready — understandable — but check in staff member Ali (?) was incredibly rude in how he handled it. For instance other than his curt attitude, I asked politely if they had been sold out and with a sneer he said for your type of room yes. Despite waiting another hour, i was also promised a call once the room was ready, which never came; I ended up having to check periodically 2 hours after stated check in time. . When it was finally ready, I was asked to complete the check in forms that I had already completed earlier when I had arrived. Basic incompetence.

The only bright spot of the entire stay was the valet team, who were consistently very friendly and professional. Kudos to those guys. It’s a shame that the sane staff member Ali was also rude to them as well as he was with me, barking orders with a total lack of respect. It’s clear what he thinks of his coworkers, let alone his guests.

Unfortunately, those guys aside, that wasn’t nearly enough to salvage the experience. I would not stay here again. I relayed my issues at check out to the front desk supervisor who did at least attempt some form of recognition that service was below standard. My advice to any would be guests / travelers is avoid the place And if you do stay, do not stay with a room facing the Vons parking lot. It’s noisy all night long as well.

Charming Hotel, but Misleading Fees and a Subpar Breakfast Experience
Pros:

Convenient location and a lot of charm. The hotel is cute and full of character, and our room and bathroom were really nice. Most of the staff were kind and genuinely helpful.

However, there are a few issues that impacted the overall experience. The front desk during the day was not welcoming—he didn’t acknowledge me and seemed to rush me through checkout. More importantly, I wasn’t given a receipt, and I later noticed additional charges on my card that I needed the receipt for.

The pricing is also misleading. What’s advertised is not what you end up paying. Valet parking has an additional fee every day, and there’s no onsite self-serve option—you have to choose valet or use ride share. On top of that, there are additional resort fees on top of the taxes/city fees, including charges tied to pool/tub access. For the facilities provided, the resort fees felt overpriced.

Breakfast was another letdown. The dining area is very limited, with only a few tables, and it’s uncomfortable to find a place to sit. The free breakfast quality was below what I’d expect compared with other chain hotels like Marriott or Hilton, and to get better food you effectively end up needing to order or pay extra.

Overall, the hotel itself is attractive and the rooms are great, but the extra fees, breakfast setup, and checkout experience left a bad impression.

מלון סבבה
Pros:

המלון יפה,קטן רחוק מההמולה שקט

Cons:

Pros:

Highly recommended
Pros:

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Amarano and would definitely return! The location was one of our favorite parts—it’s only about five minutes from the Burbank Airport, yet it feels like a quiet, charming neighborhood instead of a busy tourist district.

Everything we needed was close by, including Starbucks, a grocery store, and several restaurants just across the street. It was also the perfect home base for visiting Universal Studios, Hollywood, Newport Beach, and Anaheim.

The hotel was spotless, and every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The service made us feel right at home from check-in to check-out.

If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a great location with exceptional service, Hotel Amarano is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to stay again on our next trip to California!

They don’t care to make it right
Pros:

Booked them through Expedia and immediately realized the day was wrong. Contacted Expedia and they contacted the hotel on my behalf and spoke to Stella to adjust the reservation date. Apparently the booking date was never adjusted and neither was I ever able to get a refund from the hotel.

Boutique, Hollywood stay
Pros:

Stayed here for five days for summer camp. At first, the pullout bed in our suite did not look good, but housekeeping gave us bedsheets and blankets. The free continental breakfast was good. Just know you have to pay 45 dollars a day for the only parking service, valet parking! The hotel is very boutique and modern and there is very little noise from the street. The lavazza coffee in every room and suite is good. Overall a nice, comfortable hotel that is good if you want to have a boutique feel.
