We are residents of Greenwich and stayed at the Delamar during a move to a new home. The room was tiny and the bathroom even smaller.
In town for our son's small, intimate wedding - family only. Fiancé' recommend the Delamar since she and her family lived in the Greenwich area and had utilized it in the past - stays, restaurant & spa. We stayed the weekend and had a fantastic stay - excellent and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great amenities (we utilized the car service to get to the wedding), and fantastic restaurant (had a pre-wedding dinner with son, fiancé, and her parents). Overall just a great and relaxing stay.
Renovated rooms are chic and comfortable. Staff is 5 star and made the new years celebration special . Great having such a glamorous Resteraunt next door . Will go back next year for NYE
Just returned from a 3 night stay at Delamar in Greenwich Connecticut.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay .
The Delamar is located close to Greenwich Avenue where there are plenty of great stores and restaurants.
However the Delamar was the highlight with its warm and inviting atmosphere, its great service and its hospitality.
Thank you for making our stay so special.
Newly renovated rooms. However, there is no desk now and no room on the floor to stretch in the mornings. Also no hot water in our shower for two days. Lastly the fitness area was out of waters and with no refilling station that's not acceptable at this price point.
I took my best friend to the Delamar Greenwich and L'escale restaurant as a girl's night away for her birthday and it was an absolutely amazing experience. One for the record books!
After the much needed renovation the property shines in it old glory. Competent, friendly and engaged staff, from doormen, receptionist make you to housekeeping make you feel welcome. A young strong General Manager directs the life in the hotel. A pleasure to stay there and looking forward to many more visits
I stayed here with my fiancée after our engagement. They went above and beyond to make the experience very special. I would like to particularly recognize Justin from the hotel who greeted us, organized our dinner, and helped facilitate the rest of our stay. The property is beautiful and a quick walk to downtown Greenwich. 10/10 experience.
My wife and I stayed for one night because we were attending a Christmas party in Greenwich. We booked the hotel because we had to get up early in the morning to fly from Texas and wanted to nap in the afternoon before the party.
In short, we had a terrible experience. The root of the problem is that there appears to be zero soundproofing in the hotel. The manifestation of this was that we were completely unable to sleep as a result of noise throughout the hotel - we had a harbor view room on the third floor. The staff were shouting to one another loudly and cheerily in the corridor although to be fair, when I asked them to they stopped. The room next to us were having a party in the room. We could hear what they were saying word for word as if we were in the same
Room as them, the soundproofing is far worse than in standard family house.
By 430 I called the front desk. They were entirely unsympathetic, no sorry, and then offered us to move rooms which by then was pointless because we’d missed the opportunity to sleep if we repacked all of our stuff and moved rooms. They said they’d send a team up. Because we could hear everything going on we could clearly hear that they had lied to us and did not indeed send a team up. The debacle continues, I’m concerned that if the party is still going on tonight I will have to deal with it myself, it’s a rowdy crowd and I fear will become confrontational - it’s ridiculous that I must even contemplate self policing whilst paying $700 a night.
In town visiting family for Thanksgiving. 4 night stay. First stay at The Delamar. The vibe is old school luxury, I suppose. The feeling you get is that the property could use a major upgrade. The rooms are comfortable, but small and the walls are fairly thin (if your neighbors are noisy, you will hear it all). We stayed on the 4th Floor and the water pressure in the shower (which was quite spacious, actually) was terrible. Took nearly 3 minutes for the water to get lukewarm (in fairness, our kids stayed on the first floor and they advise their water pressure was excellent). The gym is very small (converted guest room) - if 3 people are using it you will be shoulder to shoulder. Did not use the Spa. The food and beverage offerings on the “Club Level” were not impressive at all. The restaurant attached to the hotel (L’Escale) serves breakfast for guests - food was good, service was so-so. L’Escale has a very nice Bar.
The head concierge (Sarah, if memory serves) is extremely pleasant and very accommodating - a pleasure to deal with. Front desk staff the same.
The hotel is on easy walking distance from all the high end shopping in Greenwich, of which there is a boatload.
At this price point, I think it is fair to expect a bit better.
The staff at the Delamar was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The prosecco at "check in" was a very nice touch. The property was absolutely beautiful and I would definitely recommend to other and we will definitely be coming back.
Honestly, everything was perfect! The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The room was very clean and comfortable and (as mentioned above) the staff was fantastic.
Great location on the harbor but only a short walk to downtown Greenwich as well as to the commuter rail. Upscale rooms are elegant and very quiet. Super comfy bed. Outstanding staff who are quick to help in any way they can. The restaurant, l'escale, is well worth a visit just by itself.
We recently held a team offsite at this property. The staff was excellent and service was great. Would definitely come back and host another event here anytime! The meeting room was set up exactly as requested and the team made sure everything was in place. Catering was on point and excellent.
Great location and property. Team always does a nice job to make sure guests feel welcomed. Rooms are well done - certainly a step above the chain hotels options.
A TRUE GEM ON THE WATER!
We had a spectacular experience! Our room overlooked the harbor with a deck.
The room was newly renovated
The hotel just gets it all right!
Newspapers, coffee and hot chocolate, a firepit, chocolates in the room, Bulgari toiletries, a sensation restaurant next door L'Escale and an incredible staff. Warm and friendly and even the "trainee" was informed about Bruce Park and the local restaurants that you could walk to nearby
I have mixed feelings about our stay. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel — especially the lobby and outdoor space. The wine and cheese they happened to have out when we arrived was a lovely touch.
However, we got some odd vibes from the staff, and breakfast was disappointing. While the $25 per person credit was appreciated, we still ended up paying around $70 for two dishes, two coffees, and one juice. That would have been fine if the service had been better — we asked twice for ketchup and never got it, and my omelette had less than a teaspoon of tomatoes despite my request. Little things like that added up.
The room itself was pleasant, with nice toiletries and a great mini-bar selection (though I was mistakenly charged for something we didn’t use and had to get it corrected).
The gym was also very small — barely enough space to roll out a yoga mat.
That said, the driver was excellent and we really appreciated that amenity. The location was also great — just a five-minute walk to the train and about ten minutes to town. I also ended up being charged an extra $75 tax which I wasn't expecting.
Overall, I’d still recommend the hotel, but with a few caveats.
The Delamars always surpass all expectations!!!!! This visit was for a large wedding, where the entire staff for the Delamar Greenwich Harbor and L’escale restaurant went above and beyond to ensure the most memorable and flawlessly executed event! Every single staff member we encountered during the weekend put their hearts into creating impeccable service with a willing and helpful attitude. The food was excellent as always! We can’t wait for our next Delamar experience when we visit Delamar Mystic later this month ❤️
Excellent dining experience
Room a bit old fashion ( same I had 15 years ago)
I stayed for over a year at the Delemar in 2009
