Good for location but would not recommend for comfort.
Pros:

The location was great for visiting the nearby Redwoods National/State Parks. Lots of food/grocery and gas options in town before heading more remote. Free breakfast included.

Cons:

The front desk was a virtual agent on a screen located in another country, much prefer real human at front desk. The hotel room door was difficult to open (seemed like the door closer arm would get stuck), and there was a random hole in the wall opposite of the door closer arm as if it got slammed through at some point. Could tell bathtub finish was coming off and a adhesive may was put on top to cover it. I always check for bed bugs, there were no bed bugs, but the matress did not have a sealed cover and had a few stains on one side of it. Given all these things it just didn't make the stay feel comfortable. You could tell repairs/rennovations were needed and it appeared they were either neglecting them or fixing them the cheap way.

Would stay again.
Pros:

It was in a really good location. Room was quiet beds were good felt clean.

Cons:

Didn’t talk or see a staff member the entire time. Including check in I did not care for talking to a screen to check in. Half the time the man’s mouth was moving and I heard nothing. A few obvious needs for updating such as our fan in the bathroom was falling away from the wall.

Adequate with good price point
Pros:

Adequate. I am member of Hilton which was just across the street, but I refused to pay for amount of points they want. Your hotel might not be as fancy but just as adequate and employees welcoming.

Terrible breakfast, no desk clerk.

Cons:

Desk clerk was on a screen in India like a call center. I could t understand most of what they were saying. I will not support businesses that outsource jobs that should be done by an American. I would have rather just checked in digitally.

Everything we needed to decompress and escape the valley heat. Our dogs love the free beaches.
Pros:

The location was close to the activities that we wanted to have. Beaches close for us to relax and have the dogs to run. I've been staying here for years after leaving Humboldt County. This place is consistent. Again, I'm not super picky. Staff and housekeeping are friendly.

Cons:

The area is what it is. Humboldt county sheriff showed up our last night while we were walking our dogs. They're all good and we weren't surprised. Let them do there work if there's an incident. Homelessness is an an issue everywhere now in this country. Ive never been confronted and do the opposite. I give something while im there. Overall, not too many negatives if you're just traveling through. Stay long enough you'll have a different experience. Welcome to America.
