Bathroom was filthy, tub had a hole in it!
The location and the price
The place seemed unclean. Litter on the ground and the bathroom floor was dirty. I mentioned it to the front desk but nothing was done. The walls were dirty with boogers visibly flicked on them
I like that it was inexpensive, the room was clean, and it was pretty close to where I was working in the area. It is also nearby a burger joint called Rides, with some of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life, no hyperbole.
I'm going to preface this by saying I stayed in the room without asking for a change, so it really is on me for the most part. Anyways, here it goes.
The door to my room had clearly been kicked in at some point. I know this because the entire locking mechanism moved when I tried to get in the room. I ended up having to lift up instead of push down the handle. There was only one screw holding the plate in place on the inside of the door because the material that would otherwise hold a screw was heavily damaged. The pictures I'm including don't do the damage justice. The door frame was so bowed that the door wouldn't even close fully. I ended up putting an ottoman in front of the door to make it look like it was closed all the way from the outside.
Then when coming back to grab some food, I tried to get in the back way, but the keycard reader didn't work. I tried pulling on the door anyways, but not hard enough it seems. See, when I began making my way to the front door, I was stopped by a man with an eclectic taste in face tattoos and told I wasn't pulling hard enough. Sure enough, I really yanked on the back door and it opened.
If security is a concern for you, this may not be the best place to stay. It is not really a concern for me for reasons I won't divulge here, which is why I didn't request a different room. For the proprietor, as you can see, I'm not all that upset about it, but do understand that most people would be. You guys had to have known there was damage done to the door, yet you put me in the room anyways without saying anything. The only reason I'm giving this property a 6 instead of lower is because it didn't appear that other room doors were damaged, but I can't be sure of that.
The staff switched us into a room to accommodate 5 people even when the original room had plumbing problems. And they gave us a discount on the room.
The staff in the morning were trying to bum cigarettes from hotel guests. The continental breakfast was terrible. They had a half gallon of milk, a couple sad cereal options and some waffles. No fruit, no yogurt, no other juice options, flimsy plastic ware.
Breakfast was good
Room had a musty funky odor. Flies were everywhere killing them did no good they just kept appearing
Ft. Dodge, Ia. Welcoming, efficient staff! Room was awesome; very clean, neat and comfortable! We’ll be back!!
I had a pleasant stay at Days Inn Fort Dodge. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the check-in process was quick and easy. The location was convenient, with restaurants and stores nearby. The hotel offered good value for the price, and I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Fort Dodge. Highly recommended

Filthy bad smell white bread and waffles and hard boiled eggs only breakfast food! The motel was so filthy ! The manager sat on sofa on his laptop.. I tried to complain..he could care less! If I hadn't paid online I would have ran!
They are always coming up with more ways to charge you more. When you ask for any type of discount they claim that you already got one
