Being on the top floor is always the best. Having an elevator is important.
The breakfast was poor.
Convenient location
Check in was not friendly, the whole place smelled like smoke. Very dingy, dirty, out dated. Stained chairs in the hotel room,VERY minimal bedding . I slept terrible! Bed was like sleeping on a box spring, paper thin sheet/ cover. One of the worst hotel experiences.

I was able to get a room, considering I wasn’t able to get a room at any other hotel.
Unfortunately I didn’t like anything about the hotel there at the Woodstock location. The rear door wouldn’t lock properly so there was no sense of security entering the hotel.
Upon entering the hotel room, the room had a smell, the room was not appealing, out dated, the furniture was old and weak, table was really old and wobbly, chairs in the room fabric was dirty and very dingy looking. Asked front desk for extra blankets and pillows, could not give any extra blankets or pillows, the bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was very small that I could literally touch the wall standing up stretched out side by side. The toilet was the perfect height for a three year old toddler, however not suitable for a grown adult. I had knee replacement surgery and it was very difficult and most importantly uncomfortable to even use that bathroom and the toilet.
Overall, I would definitely not stay there again or even suggest anyone else to stay.
I had requested a handicapped room and when I called to make sure they got it, all handicapped room were taken by long term residents. They advertised they had one and they did not. They did get me a shower chair but the toilet was too low and had to have help getting up. The beds were very uncomfortable. We won't stay there again.
It was quiet, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.
It smelled musty and needs updating badly. We had a fridge in the room that leaked.
I didn't expect much in this area of Woodstock IL. In fact I had (lowered expectations) and was pleasantly surprised by my 4 night stay......
After walking past the crackheads and prostitutes in the entry, I walked up to the counter and let them know I was there to cancel the one week reservation instead of checking in!
nothing
Clean, comfortable. Staff was helpful.
Came to Woodstock, Illinois, for the world famous Groundhog Days on Groundhog Day. The town only has three hotels. The previous year, we stayed at the Quality Inn across the road. We got scalped by that motel, paying 3 times their regular price while it was full of homeless guests. It was a flop. So, as a Choice member and making a last minute plans, I got the last non smoking double room for my teenage son and ai to attend the event. It was exciting to know that we got the last room, we thought that our hotel would be full of families also traveling and bad hoped to meet folks around and at breakfast. The hotel was full alright, full of homeless and drug addicts. Shame on Real Wooddtock for even advertising this place on their event website, especially because management told me that had some sort of deal with the city to hoise people in the cold. When checking in some blind haired lady was such chatty and I could tell something was off about her. I finally had to politely tell her that I was exhausted from ice skating and winter activities with my son in Lake Ganeva, a half hour away. We got in at nine because I spend the day at Winterfest. I had filled out a text check in to let hotel know I'd be getting in later. Lady told me she was homeless. Hotel has three floors, I was initially grateful to be on the first floor to not have to drag my luggage upstairs, but apparently, I think it's thr floor for the hotness as later on, I was told I should have been pit on the third floor, but not told why.
From the pictures, I thought that I'd sit by the cute little fireplace in the lobby with a coffee, but nope, owner parks his motorcycle in front of it. Tacky as hell! What kind of sitting area has a motorcycle? I couldnt enjoy area anyway as trash and recycling was over flowing. Also, I think one lady got evicted and she had many items sprawled out, taking up the sitting area. We left at 5 am to see the Groundhog. My initial plans were to do that and leave, come back and pack and nap. I felt I had to pack all my variables up and leave in my car such as my son's and my laptop. He is a college student and had work to do, as did I. Wifi kept going in and out making connection unreliable. No password, so I imagine many people were on it, using up bandwith.
My door had a huge gap in it. I could see the carpet or floor hallway outside. I complained to manager about it, I wasn't able to sleep the night before due to all the noise, all he had to say was oh, but they painted thr walls. Walls were a tacky gray with a rd random stripe. I'm an art teacher and I feel quality of walls were tacky. Walls don't mean much when you can't sleep and the floors were filthy and my door had a huge gap.
Lack lf sleep can be just as dangerous as driving drunk. They let hs stay til 1 but again, person in room above us sounded like they were remodeling, loud thumbs, bangs, ect. Was a miserable stay.
Shame on the city for recommending this dump if they stowe their homeless there. Caseys nearby told me place has cops and ambulances there a lot.
