The lady who checked us in was very nice.
It had a bad smell and there were dead bugs. The man who checked us out refused to give me a receipt because I used booking.com. I paid at the hotel, so they HAVE to give me a receipt. I had to insist. He said that booking.com doesn't want us to know how much of a cut they get🙄
The price and location were fine.
It was a bit noisy in the room because of the air conditioning and refrigeration

Very nice staff, room as requested on 1st floor, comfortable beds & quiet.
Quiet - comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning. Had a frig & microwave & bathtub. Hair dry for usage.
1st room downstairs smelled musky. 2nd room we got moved to, no plugs near the bed. Light on the desk didn’t work. 1 GFI plug n the bathroom did not work. Coffee pot didn’t work. Notified gem of all this to be fixed when we left. Rooms need updating and so do the doors to the rooms.
The bed was fairly comfortable, other than that, this place was a total failure on almost every metric.
The staff were ghetto fabulous, the facility has no elevator, and no central stairwell, be prepared to walk a long way to your room. Be further prepared to come back to the front desk when your room key doesn't work. The fixtures are dirty, old, and just the stuff that actually works. I am a full-time traveler, I stay in 15 to 20 hotel rooms a month, often even more. This is a $60 a night hotel that charges over $100 a night.
Just skip this one. It's awful. It's not the worst place I've ever stayed, but it might be the worst place I've ever stayed that I paid over $100 a night for. The breakfast was just as bad as everything else, ALL SUGAR and only powdered creamer for the coffee (which was not fresh).
The toilet ran all night, I tried to check the float, but when I opened the tank, there was electrical tape holding the inlet valve together. The tub looked like a science experiment, and the ironing board and bed skirt had some stains of questionable origin on them (see photos).
I almost never write negative reviews, but this place was a MONUMENTAL FAIL.
