Nice hotel, ideal if visiting North Hants Hospital, but could use a bit of refurbishment in places
Pros:

Room (suite actually, tho' I only booked a double room) was spacipous, well appointed, comfortable, quiet and generally nice. Whole hotel was very quiet (Sunday night) which probably helped. Bar area was pleasant. Breakfast was fine. Ideally placed near North Hampshire Hospital

Cons:

Hotel room was a bit shabby in places, scuffed table tops, somewhat aging sofa beds, shower did not drain very quickly so we were not inclined to use it in cas we risked a flood. Dissapointed we could not use the pool as we arrived too late. Couple of the "cold breakfast" options were missing & plates for them, tho' understandable as there was hardly anyone there for Monday morning breakfast.

Save your money and go elsewhere
Pros:

Car Park spaces

Cons:

This used to be a great hotel, it is now very tired. The room was filthy with ripped carpet, the shower had more mould in it the a decent blue cheese. The Pizza I had for dinner was so poor I could only eat the topping. Breakfast was a tasteless cooked breakfast, with very poor coffee

Soulless place and needs a serious refurb
Pros:

Fairly convenient location but next to busy toad with traffic noise all night

Cons:

It’s very tired looking and everything is falling to wrack and ruin. Our bedroom has light bulbs missing and rawl plugs hanging out the wall where a picture had been taken down

Pros:

1 member of staff seemed to be helpful but didn’t follow through

Cons:

We chose the Apollo Hotel primarily because the swimming pool and spa facilities were included with our stay. Unfortunately, our experience was so poor that we decided we could not remain at the hotel.

Our stay got off to a disappointing start when we arrived at the advertised check-in time and were told that our room was not ready, before eventually being moved to a different room. While waiting, we also found there were no bar staff available, meaning we couldn't buy a drink or anything to eat.

The biggest disappointment, however, was the leisure facilities. We had to book a time slot and were limited to just 45 minutes, which was frustrating given that access to these facilities was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel. In reality, we couldn't even stay for that long. After less than 20 minutes, we decided to leave because the condition of the facilities made us feel so uncomfortable.

The entire area appeared neglected and poorly maintained. The hot tub had yellow staining and greasy residue around the edges. The sauna was in a worrying state of repair, with an unstable upper bench and damaged supports beneath it that made it feel unsafe to use. The floors were dirty, the men's shower curtains were covered in mould, and the women's toilets were in an unacceptable state of cleanliness.

The swimming pool itself was particularly unpleasant. The water was visibly murky rather than clear and left an oily film on our skin, making us seriously question the cleanliness and maintenance of the pool. A water feature wasn't working, and behind it we could clearly see mould, rust and significant deterioration. Even the bridge over the pool, although closed, was covered in grime and mould, adding to the overall impression that the facilities had been left to deteriorate over a long period of time.

The condition of the leisure facilities left us feeling genuinely uncomfortable about remaining at the hotel.

Pros:

Good base if you don’t mind driving. Sauna and steam room were nice.

Cons:

Very noisy shower, needs updating very tired looking sealant along edges need redoing.
Not enough shower/ shampoo for 3 people, had to go get more.
Cups/ plastic beakers dirty.
Very dated, carpets not laid to edges.
No air con, not even a fan in the room . It was uncomfortably hot.
Cobwebs and spiders , possibly a false widow.
As we walked from our room to the reception we noticed a used glass that had been left on a side by the lift, it had been there for the entirety of our stay. We did not see any hoovering of communal spaces and some of these had built up bits on the floor.
Corridor door opens onto staircase
In the left Lift the rail /dado rail had sharp edges

Very poor for what is claimed to be a 4* hotel.
Pros:

Staff were OK but clearly under a lot of pressure which seemed to be due to staffing levels and, I suspect poor training. Public areas were Ok and the air conditioning was very good. My room didn't have AC but did have a cooling fan which, coupled with the aspect meant the room was comfortable despite heat-wave temperatures

Cons:

There were open skips in the rear car parks. A lot of discarded cigarette buts around the outside seating and overflowing ashtrays. Glasses were not cleared. On the first night food service was chaotic with orders wrong, being refused by the kitchen and then when orders did eventually come out they were usually a single meal, regardless of how many were in the party and the servers had no idea which table the orders were for. My meal was OK but my college sent first order back because it was not cooked through and then only ate half of the replacement because it was unpleasant.
