Good location
This hotel is always a great stay. This was the first time we had an issue. I went to the breakfast area to make a bagel for my son and one of the managers was completing the hiring process for a few employees seated at the eating tables. I overhead the manager talking about waiving the 30 minute break and audit implications and telling the new hires that they could take a 10 minute break if they needed it in their car or wherever they wanted. The manager went on to say that if 30 minute break was really needed it could be taken and at one point there was a comment about signing out. I was just trying to toast my bagel and put some cream cheese on it for my son but it was impossible not to overhear the conversation. To me it felt really unfair as I don’t think these new hires could say anything otherwise to these comments because they were accepting the job. When I left I asked a room cleaner about it and she said yes it is a labor practice issue but then said she likes working here very much and her boss is great. I asked because I really like the staff here and I was hoping I was just confused about what I thought I was hearing. Upon check out the manger in a very aggressive manner showed me the law about how an employee can waive their rights. I let her know my concern was that her new hires might not feel comfortable speaking their mind. She responded by saying they would feel comfortable and that she mentioned that aspect in the very early hiring stage too. She went on to scold me for not coming to her and I let her know that as a patron I do not have to follow any specific standards and really just wanted to get the heck out of that office. As I drove away with my son I felt really upset and could not get the rude look she gave out of my head. It was truly one of the most unusual hotel experiences I have ever experienced. It has been hard to get this person out of my mind her hostility was palpable and now I see I am not alone:
Front Desk Leadership: A recurring complaint describes a front desk manager as having "extreme anger issues" and acting as if they own the property. This individual is allegedly responsible for making the work environment miserable for the rest of the staff.
Lack of GM Presence: Reviews suggest the General Manager is rarely on-site, delegating significant authority to this front desk manager without sufficient oversight. This has led to a culture where staff feel forced to "go along with the nastiness" to avoid conflict.
It was clean and conveniently located.
The decor was dated.
Feels like home, nice and clean.
Quiet and clean.
Provided breakfast was sad!
Had all the necessities, fridge, microwave, coffee, tv, was a good room.
Hot tub was closed even when earlier I asked if it was open, no extra pillows, the pillows we had were rough, breakfast was a bagel lol, staff was nice though.
Friendly staff. Clean room. Well-kept grounds.
Comfortable, spacious, fairly clean
Carpet was filthy
We left an item in the room when we checked out.
They kept it until we could return to get it!
We normally get a better breakfast at a motel like this.
Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and convenient. Hot tub is open in the winter which we appreciated.
Our king room could have used another chair - only one is provided.
People is very kind, always smiling and makes you feel welcome. Breakfast is diferent type of bagels and there is butter, peanut butter, 3 types of cream cheese, jelly and more. I love bagels and also I use to eat the same for breakfast every Day, so for me and my family it was not a problem at all, actually I was Happy.
My daughter left some stuffed animals in the floor and when we came Back they were well organized o the bed. (I show you pictures). This was so cute, and represent the love the workers have for what they do.
The sink is not centered, and at the left it is a Towel Rack, I always hit my elbow in the Towel Rack when combing my hair. I suggest to move the towel Rack to the right, where is more space available.
Sugar sachets are very different in the USA than in Latam, I use to put 2 or 3 sachets in my Coffee, but in USA i have to use like 5 to make it taste the same... So, there is not enough Sugar for the coffee in the room for people Who have these experiences.
Comfortable beds. Very clean.
Shower pressure was just ok.
Staff was amazing at accommodating my needs.
Everything was perfect
