My family and I stayed one night at the Hotel Indigo Del Mar after flying into San Diego. The hotel was about 30 min from the airport. The staff made us feel very welcome upon arrival and made sure we had a crib for our baby. We were placed in a room overlooking the Pacific. We arrived after dark so we couldn’t see anything until the next morning. The room was spacious with comfy beds and a refreshing rain shower. When the sun rose, the view was breaktaking! We were able to walk a couple of blocks down to the Del Mar Cliffs from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay short though it was. This is a property I’d highly recommend!
Location, view of the ocean, room was spacious, staff super friendly
It would be nice to have ramps instead of stairs for people with heavy luggage
Room 217 was beside the bar, restaurant and by the stairs, so it was quite noisy at times.
Position
The requirement of having to pay for parking, where parking is abundant, lot is empty..and no water in the room ! Had to pay $8 for a generic plastic bottle
Highly recommend staying at Indigo Del Mar! Stayed at this property many times. Rooms, food and customer service are always met with excellence! Always enjoy the beach visits!
My husband and I stayed here at Indigo Hotel in Del Mar for 3 nights this past week. We had a super nice stay- love the location, so close easy walk to the ocean beach area, restaurants, coffee shops, and felt very safe, beautiful neighborhood. Hotel has great ocean views from the rear patios on 2nd floor, recommend the 2nd floor 200 rooms, great outdoor patio areas, very nice lobby space, pool and jacuzzi is located separately, and super dog friendly. The hotel room was spacious, clean, large windows on one side, and no carpet in the rooms, which is great for us.
The only negative was at night - the room we had on the 2nd floor rear side- the lighting in room was oddly super dim, small low wattage light bulbs- we asked for a standing lamp to brighten our dark room, which was promptly and kindly brought to our room by staff.
The pillows were lumpy- just needs to be replaced with new ones. The hotel did charge a per night parking fee- would be nice if parking is included or free to IHG members.
Our room’s hand held shower was broken - we reported it and within an hour the handyman staff replaced it with a new one- he was efficient & polite- great service.
The front desk day staff Barbara was awesome- She was so helpful, professional, a wonderful personality- management is very lucky to have staff like Barbara. We plan to return soon and will recommend this hotel to friends.
Everything was wonderful. The staff I dealt with were more than friendly, willing to go the extra mile. I was very impressed with Ursula at the front desk. The restaurant manager was great; he took great care of us...especially considering we were there to celebrate our anniversary.
Everything here was very clean and organize. The pool and hot tub was very clean and clear!
My new favorite place to stay in Del Mar. Cozy, convenient, quiet, and has everything you need plus a great ocean view!
Was placed in the laundry area with no need as it was a weekday and hotel was not full. Treated like a second class citizen. Won’t stay there again. Del Mar was beautiful.
This was our 3rd stay and we love it! Great room, friendly and welcoming staff.
The hotel is beautiful, I loved the vintage feel of it. However, we did not feel extremely welcome. I stopped in for a happy hour glass of wine one night, came in for a second and was (maybe? half jokingly) told to get my glass off of the clean menu on the bar before taking my order. Another night I ordered the blackberry lemon drop and when I came in for a second one was asked if I was going to have another one of those sugary concoctions, which made me feel a little stupid. One night we asked if we could take two wine glasses to the room as we had a nice bottle in our room and were told absolutely not. We stopped coming for happy hour and had wine at our dinner restaurant from then on. The bright spot was a bartender/server named Jessie, he was so personable, so funny and so accommodating. Housekeeping skipped two days and we’re not friendly when my husband called and they finally did come. I felt we were imposing on them although housekeeping is supposed to be every day. It could’ve just been a bad week, but that was our experience. The young girl who checked us in was friendly, and a woman named Barbara helped my husband with several things at the desk and was also friendly.
Good location
Clean comfortable
Too e pensive, no umbrellas at lounge chairs only at tables. Jacuzzi too hot to use, no umbrellas on balconies. Water on rug on balcony room 405. Too much traffic in that area.
