Great spot! Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Pool and hot tub location were great with a great view of the ocean. Easy access to the beach. My family and I loved it and discussed going back as soon as we left

My family and I have been coming here for years. You can’t beat the location. The hotel is nice and staff are amazing, with excellent customer service. Pool and hot tub are always a hit, and the beach just a few steps away. The boardwalk is fun to walk to great shopping and restaurants. We captured the best sunset here!

The Ocean View rooms are immaculate. This is a well maintained property that is RIGHT on the beach. It is a good atmosphere for families, couples, friend groups, or solo travelers. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and you can't beat the location.

We love the location of the Wayfarer. It's a quick walk to the beach and there are many good restaurants in the area. The staff is very friendly especially Mike at the front desk. The rooms are older but they are clean. There is a small cafe that makes great coffee. I was lucky enough as a member to plan my trip during one of their sales. Great deal for a place right on the beach. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at The Wayfarer. The location is amazing!! Right on Pacific Beach. The sunsets are breath-taking! Close walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The experience could be improved with TVs that allow you you access to streaming services.

I swear no matter when we go to San Diego it's ALWAYS literally picture perfect weather. We thought it was going to be rainy and cold and when we got there we were happy to once again have perfect weather. Good thing we stayed at our favorite San Diego hotel, the Wayfarer, so we could take advantage of the sunshine and sunsets on the beach. We are well always taken care of by the great staff at the Wayfarer and would highly recommend!!

The rooms with ocean view were spectacular, Stephanie and Aaron at the front desk and all the staff were warm and helpful. Staff responded to our every request in a prompt and thorough way. Coffee at the Zephyr cafe is great-- and they also have some good nibbles in the morning. They accommodated our large family with multiple toddlers well. The hot tub was wonderful, as was the pool. A beautiful section of the beach could not have been closer.

The major attraction here is its location: whether you pay for an ocean view room or not, you will have instant access to the sand, water, boardwalk fun, and festive vibe of Pacific Beach steps from the front door. Very charming lobby, warm and comfortable. Lots of great restaurant options abound. We asked about restaurant recommendations, and staff had a few ideas but could have provided more information, Ilke whether or not a reservation is needed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Zephyr Cafe has very, very few options: coffee WAS delicious but the baked goods were stale. To get to the first floor of our building, we had to climb some steep stairs because the ADA elevator was not working. Staff offered no information or accommodations for this, and it was a struggle for one of our guests who has arthritis. Finally, parking fee was obscenely high, no doubt because we are a captive audience. All in all, modestly priced rooms in a prime location are the major draw.

Perfect location!...hotel staff are amazing and nice clean rooms and the pool deck is awesome looking straight out to the ocean 25ft from the sand separated by the boardwalk...which by the way is the funnest people watching locations, fire pit is right next to the boardwalk...restaurants are right down the boardwalk to the right many to choose from...no need to drive in my opinion...you'll love it!❤️

Booked a last minute layover trip after a business conference. Definitely a treat for myself and spouse. Felt like we had the whole property to ourselves. Room even smelled like the beach. No noise or No heavy traffic and found free street parking. Didn’t realize how much I needed this staycation with beautiful sunset views of the ocean. I promised myself I would be back at least annually when I need to recharge my battery. Great way to end the 2025 year.

Very noisy, I could constantly hear my neighbors. After I moved just two doors down the first night due to overhead noise I still had very noisy neighbors but decided it wasn’t worth arguing to go to the third floor or a different part of the hotel. Additionally, my “partial view” of the ocean left a lot to be desired. The room was very expensive. Housekeeping came at unpredictable times late in the day. No breakfast. $5 up charge for the water. The WiFi was horrifically slow, worse than any other place I have ever stayed at. Throttling WiFi and then charging customers $15 a day is ridiculous

The Wayfarer is right on the beach in the middle of the Pacific Beach area. Tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance, off street parking, pool and hot tub. The hotel feels quaint and friendly and the staff were excellent. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, and I would stay there again.

The Wayfarer Hotel certainly exceeded my expectations with a comfortable, clean, quiet guest room with spectacular views of the ocean. The pool, hot tub and firepit areas provided a wonderful place to relax outdoors. The hotel location was within walking distance to a large variety of shops and restaurants just steps from the boardwalk and beach. Fun to watch the surfers from my hotel balcony, and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Thank you Blais and Team for a wonderful stay!!! See you next year!

Staff was amazing and accommodating and helpful, room was beautiful, clean fully stocked, pool very clean. Entire experience was great and would highly recommended!

This hotel was absolutely fantastic! My only wish is that I had booked sooner so that a larger room had been available. The room was small, but very clean and modern, and the view could not be beat! The staff was honestly some of the friendliest I have ever encountered - everyone was exceptional and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and important. The pool area was my favorite. It had plenty of great places to lounge, the hot tub and pool were both a great temperature, the area was super clean, and the glass fencing made sure the entire area had the perfect view.

The cafe was reasonably priced and had good coffee, snacks, and adult beverages that you could grab and go.

I cannot say enough about the location - you are right on the beach and just a short walk to anything you could want. Overall, we absolutely loved it, and I can't wait to go back!

I had a wonderful stay at the Wayfarer. The location is incredible and I was impressed that the inside had been recently remodeled. I would recommend staying here if you enjoy a mellow vibe. Beach living!

Went for a 4 day wedding and fun. Perfect location Love Pacific Beach. Great service all around. Pool and Hot tub looking out over the beach and sunset. Area was great with lots of places to eat, drink, and be merry. Hard to disappoint when its 75 and sunny all the time. Easy to get to all the major attractions in the area. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice size room. Will definitely consider staying here again when returning

Can't think of a better place to stay in Pacific Beach. We were right on the beach with an ocean view. Close to restaurants and shops, and a healthy walk to Mission Beach as well. Clean, quiet, great staff. This is our go-to when staying in San Diego

Our stay at The Wayfarer in San Diego was absolutely amazing! The hotel is spotless — everything is so clean and well taken care of. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The accommodations they made for us were unbelievable, and they truly made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable.

The housekeeping team deserves a special mention — they were fast, thorough, and incredibly attentive. They even cleaned up a small mess my husband and I accidentally made, without us even asking. That kind of care and attention really shows how much pride they take in their work.

On top of all that, the location is perfect — close to everything, making it easy to explore San Diego and enjoy all the area has to offer.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The Wayfarer has become our go-to place to stay in San Diego, and we can’t wait to come back!

In the middle of the night you do not want to be awakened by a loud TV next door. We made 3 complaints to the front desk. An employee went up to the room to no avail.
I requested they call the police. They did. On our 4th call to the desk we were told that the police could not do anything.
The TV finally went off at 6:00 am.
At checkout the desk clerk did not say anything until I brought up the subject. Sorry is all she would offer.
