Bed was comfortable
Our reserved King size room wasn’t ready when we arrived past midnight! Was offered a room with two beds instead
Arrived at 2:55 pm. Strict policy to not check in before 3 pm. Desk staff was kind but it was annoying. Place is a ghost town. Everywhere are signs of delayed maintenance. I’d ask for a new room but I assume the cracks and stains would just be in different places. Bed seems clean and comfortable.
The beds were comfortable. Pool was big. Breakfast area was nice and large
Sheets were put on the bed wrong. The head and foot end were on the sides. They were also I side out. I woke up to the fitted sheet up around my pillow and my feet too. The bathroom door was retouched and had two colors of paint on it. Some putty that wasn’t even smoothed out or sanded. The mirror in the bathroom was crooked. Someone we knew (thankfully) went to the front desk asking what room we were in and she actually gave her the room number! We didn’t want her to know so we didn’t tell her. But the front desk did! Zero security. I wanted to switch rooms but my husband didn’t want to pack up our stuff.
The staff was very kind.
The snack bar was expensive.
I stayed at this hotel on July 19. Because I travel for business approximately twice a month, I almost always choose Best Western Plus hotels in every state. In all of my previous stays at Best Western Plus properties, I have never been asked to pay a security deposit. If this hotel has such a policy, it should be clearly displayed in writing at the front desk.
During check-in, I told the staff that this information should be posted at the front desk and that, since it was not, I would send an email to Best Western Customer Service the following morning. As soon as I said that, a woman who had just walked through the hotel entrance started yelling at me, scolding me, and trying to find out my room number. I was completely shocked. I later learned that this woman was the hotel manager.
I am a respected business professional, and Best Western is the hotel brand I stay with regularly. I have never before experienced such insults, scolding, and what felt like an intimidating interrogation. I have never seen a hotel management treat its guests in such a degrading and humiliating manner.
I hope Best Western management will take the necessary action. I came to this hotel to rest in peace and feel safe, yet I found myself being questioned about my room number and scolded by the hotel manager.
The only reason this happened was because I said I would report the hotel's improper handling of the situation to Customer Service. The hotel manager was clearly very, very disturbed by the fact that I intended to report the hotel's mistake.nager
This was a surprisingly disappointing hotel. We've stayed at a Best Western Plus in Crawfordsville, Indiana and it was lovely. This was the opposite of that experience.
The front desk staff was not at all welcoming, and the person who checked me in was busy doing paperwork and did not look up to even say hi. I had to repeat twice that our reservation was for a dog friendly room.
When we took the dog out, we saw a member of staff smoking inside the building (in a room where supplies are kept, near a back door).
The landscaping was horribly neglected, with weeds taller than my lab/boxer mix. There is also broken glass in the landscaping, which is troubling when travelling with a dog.
The room we were in (116) felt very damp, including the bedding. We could hear conversations (and a small, loud, yipping dog) through the adjoining door. The loud dog is the reason that we left a day early. The lamps in our room were rusting, because the room is so damp. There are cobwebs in the curtain tracks. The ceiling is flaking off and leaving bits in the shower and on the beds. The room finishings are nice, but the old wall outlet covers are yellowing and cheapen the look. The bathroom needs a fan.
The positives:
Breakfast was good. It is in the unused (?) Simmering Pot restaurant. The housekeepers deserve a raise. The team of 3 housekeepers who stopped by on July 17th was very friendly and helpful. They, and the coffee, were the best part of our visit.
The front desk staff continued their impersonal attitude at checkout. We left a day early, and I explained to the front desk staff why we were leaving. Her response? "Okay".
We generally stay at Best Westerns when we are not at an AirBnB, and were optimistic, since this is a Best Western Plus. The quality of this hotel was lower than a Red Roof Inn or Motel 6. If this were our first experience with the brand, it would be our last. My husband says this has drastically reduced his desire to stay at a hotel instead of an AirBnB. It was a very bad experience.
The beds were so comfortable location was great
Our ac didn't work properly in our room it leaked all over the floor and smelled like cat pee
Clean, comfortable bed, good breakfast
N/a
Location was quick to major highways
Ran down property and stuff was very unprofessional
Location was perfect! Very clean. To be honest, I was worried after reading some reviews. The hotel was very busy, but we didn’t hear any commotion or ruckus. We were pleasantly surprised to come back in the evening after our first night to see our beds made and fresh towels. This doesn’t happen very often anymore.
It is showing some age, but not hateful. The pool and fitness center were not great. Pool was cold and the fitness center was missing some weights. Breakfast area was HOT!! Food was typical continental breakfast.
Nice hotel very clean, comfortable and relaxing with breakfast
The people before in that room previously, must of had pets and I'm allergic, I started having allergic reactions.
Close to I71 and 4 miles from my sisters in north royalton. Clean lobby, halls and rooms but needs updated. I’d like to acknowledge Sam who made a point of getting the pool opened for us after some “unruly” kids damaged the pool (parents???) two days pool was closed for fixing. Sam got the pool open and even gave us late checkout so we could swim!
Needs some updating our room was clean but had small torn carpet moulding.
