Great Hotel!
Nice hotel
The staff was always friendly. The room was very clean. It was just a block away from the cable car ride. Many restaurants around to dine at.
Had to stay for two days to attend a large conference downtown. Fusion was convenient, safe, comfortable, with plenty of nearby restaurants.
My room smelled like mildew.
Noisy AC
The hotel lobby is gorgeous, but the room was old. The vent of the window ac unit was broken, I can’t lift it so the cold hair was blowing on my face as the AC was next to the bed. There is no working desk, room was pretty small. However, the bathroom was huge, there was so much wasted space. The room gave a motel at some podunk town vibe. It also smelled musky when I was there.
The area was great though, lots of places to eat and places to shop within walking distance. The area felt pretty safe too.
Staff was incredibly nice and helpful.
I really enjoyed my stay here my room was perfect :).. this hotel is in the perfect spot, close to stores and restaurants.. the staff is also very friendly helpful and nice.. this will be my hotel every time I come to San Francisco :)
Start with the negatives. The hotel is on the edge of the tenderloin district which has a horrific vagrancy problem, nothing the hotel can do about that. Room had an extractor fan or industrial aircon unit just outside window so constant 45dB noise 24/7. On the up side the hotel felt safe and secure, the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff were nice and happy to help. Location was convent for the BART, ballpark and cable cars
Breakfast not included contrary to description, street has a lot of homeless people and dim lighting which is sketchy, room is a bit damp and moldy, no view, can't really open window since it just faces inside court/other guest rooms, valet takes around 30ish minutes to get your car even without traffic on the street, room a lot more cramped than in photos.
Easily accessible from the airport if taking the bart, room was clean, there’s a gym with some free weights and cardio equipment, lot’s of restaurants.
First impressions are everything. When I checked in, the front desk guy didn’t acknowledge me (but was helping someone which is fine). Then he went to a lobby different from the main entrance and started chatting with someone who had been sitting there (which is fine). After about 5 minutes I realized he was chatting chatting LOL, and when I politely went to to that lobby and said “hello I’d like to check in” he seemed annoyed that I interrupted his conversation.
Like he saw me at the counter with my bags and avoided me, started a whole conversation with a different guest, and has the nerve to be annoyed that I wanted to check in. L O L. And I thought maybe that’s just his personality, but he was smiling and laughing with the guest sitting in the lobby. And after checking in I asked where the elevators were and he was annoyed like I should know where it is.
I usually don’t care, you can have the flattest affect with me, you do not have to be friendly or bubbly with me, but don’t be straight up rude.
Friendly helpful staff
Great property. Will definitely be back!
The hotel had a nice aesthetic and the location was in a great spot to walk around midtown. Would stay here again.
Very nice and clean, and comfy beds
Price
Good location, close to self-parking lot and public transportation. Walking distance to Union square. Rooms were okay, did not give off “boutique hotel” vibes. Pretty underwhelming. Lobby and bar area was the only area that I felt was modern and recently remodeled.
overall
nice and clean hotel
Clean, quiet, well-managed, centrally located. Close to BART and subway, very easy to travel to from the airport on BART. Close to SF MoMA, to Trader Joe’s, and with a lot of good restaurants around. I felt safe as a single woman traveler. The staff is incredibly helpful. The only issue I had was the room I initially had was stuffy. Since the air conditioner is fixed in the only window in the room, I couldn’t open the window to get fresh air. I asked for a different room after three days and the staff was so helpful. I was moved to a room where I could open the window and get all the fresh air I needed. It was a wonderful five-dsy stay and I would book this place again.
