Cons:

The room had a terrible smell and the window was open to try to fix. After 30 min, I couldn’t stay in the room so I went to front desk and checked out requesting reimbursement for charges.

It was frustrating.
Cons:

Room wasn't ready when we got there at 4:15. We waited over 2 hours for our room to be ready. Even at that point, there were issues with our reservation. According to hotel, our payment had not gone through even though I had email confirmation through booking.com that it had, and also bank statement confirmation that the payment had been successful. To be fair, we were eventually given a room with 2 full beds when our reservation was just for a room with 1 queen bed. It was very obvious that the front desk worker was extremely overwhelmed and it seemed like the hotel was short-staffed. Also, the shower in our room did not work. Upon checkout, the payment issue was still unresolved and they said they would reach out to us at a later date.

Pros:

I had a great experience at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The staff was friendly and professional, and they made sure I had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere and convenient location. I’d definitely stay here again

I will never book with candle wood again. I wish I could get a refund.
Pros:

They were able fix the issue of being double charged.

Cons:

The room I originally booked wasn’t available so I was given two full instead of queens. I found dead roaches and bugs between the bed and wall. The towels were stained.

Bed was decent

Cons:

1st room was actually already occupied , so they got us a 2nd room. It had such a strong bad odor ( moth ball smell) that we had to change again.
The faucet was loose in tub , light bulb was not secure & flickering , noise was a little loud from frwy - frustrating .

Several months ago we stayed at a Candlewood Suites and swore it would never happen again. This past week, we relented while traveling and stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Round Rock, Texas. We were tired and the driving had worn us down to the point that we decided to give this brand of the IHG family another chance - never again.

The location is right off the highway and parking ample. Despite a busy Thanksgiving week, other patrons had chosen to bypass this hotel and only about 10 cars were in the lot. We checked in easily but like our previous Candlewood Suites stay in September, they do not recognize IHG membership or status upon arrival. No big deal, but it set the tone for the stay. Our room was reasonably sized with a king bed, long work station, and small kitchen area. However, the first thing you notice when opening the room is the very strong odor of cleaning solutions. The condition of the furnishings was deplorable. The abundance of roach/rodent glue traps (4 that I found without looking) was amazing. The scattering of two roaches in the bathroom (when the lights were turned on) was unsettling. Clearly this location has problems. I believe in all sincerity that they are trying to address the issues with the aggressive chemical cleaning solutions and glue traps, but it isn't quite working yet.
I appreciate the management's efforts, but it is not a place that represents the IHG family well. As with our last Candlewood Suites stay, I blame to some extent IHG property inspectors who are doing the IHG brand a disservice by not holding franchisees accountable enough. We were fooled once (back in September) and let ourselves be fooled again. It won't happen again.
