Staff was wonderful, location was good and it was clean.
It was almost like it was only partially renovated: ceiling was not finished being painted, holes in ceiling, cracked tile, tub had stains and drain was patched, missing calk around floor, ice machine broken and dirty and we were on side that backed up to back parking lot and it was loud with workers.
Very pretty. Staff was very nice
The food we choose in the restaurant wasn’t good and very over priced. Our room smelled of mildew
It was an amazing place
Staff were great and location was ideal rooms were just small and outdated in my opinion.
We have stayed here some years back before the renovation so I thought it would be neat to take my wife back for her birthday. We were so surprised as to how beautiful it turned out. Upon check out, I did mention that it was my wife's birthday and the above story and didn't think any more about it, it seemed like just another routine great check in process. Later that evening, when getting ready for dinner, we noticed an envelope that had been slid under our door. I gave it to my wife to let her deal with what ever it was and when she opened it, to her surprise, it was a birthday card from the Manager and Front Desk staff with personalized messages hand written in it. This was absolutely above and beyond anything you would ever expect from really any establishment, but the Campbell House has set themselves at the top. This small be enormous act of kindness and personal touch was so amazing and heartwarming I had to share it. Thank you so much for your outstanding customer service and you have earned a lifelong customer!
Charming with fantastic tavern and fireplaces. Staff are wonderful.
It needs a facelift, an external coat of paint and new rugs. Handling the luggage was a nightmare. There were no staff to assist and carts were heavy and difficult to push long distances in the sprawling property. View of the river was exaggerated as the parking lot took precedence.
Cathy, the front desk clerk was super kind and helpful. i appreciate how friwndly and professional all of the staff was. The building engineer promptly came to my room
to fix the thermostat until it was just perfect. Loved writing in the lobby in front of the big fireplace;)
I absolutely love this hotel. It has the charm of a boutique hotel, a warm, welcoming bar area, and cozy rooms. While the hotel can feel a little outdated, the overall ambiance has great southern charm and is my favorite stop when we are visiting our son in Lexington. Some complain that the bathrooms are too small, but there are other amenities that make up for that in my mind--roaring fireplace in the lobby, coffee bar, and excellent restaurant (for which you should make reservations ahead of time during busy seasons).
Loved the bar and had a great time doing a bourbon tasting! Loved the ambiance.
N/A We ate breakfast out each morning.
Housekeeping was no where to be seen. Never received clean towels, make up remover. Tissue box and lamps were very dusty.
Sinks in rooms not great for people who travel. Carpet was dirty in the rooms and in the hallways and not just a little dirty they were really dirty. Company should really think about investing in carpet removal and laying hardwood floors.
Sinks, carpet
Location. Room size.
No counter space in bathroom.
Rust on bathtub.
Lisa Johnson greeted us at midnight and walked us through the whole check in. If everyone in Kentucky is this nice we are in for a great trip
