I absolutely love this hotel. It has the charm of a boutique hotel, a warm, welcoming bar area, and cozy rooms. While the hotel can feel a little outdated, the overall ambiance has great southern charm and is my favorite stop when we are visiting our son in Lexington. Some complain that the bathrooms are too small, but there are other amenities that make up for that in my mind--roaring fireplace in the lobby, coffee bar, and excellent restaurant (for which you should make reservations ahead of time during busy seasons).
Loved the bar and had a great time doing a bourbon tasting! Loved the ambiance.
N/A We ate breakfast out each morning.
Housekeeping was no where to be seen. Never received clean towels, make up remover. Tissue box and lamps were very dusty.
Sinks in rooms not great for people who travel. Carpet was dirty in the rooms and in the hallways and not just a little dirty they were really dirty. Company should really think about investing in carpet removal and laying hardwood floors.

Lisa Johnson greeted us at midnight and walked us through the whole check in. If everyone in Kentucky is this nice we are in for a great trip
Wonderful place and will definitely stay again
Location
i always wanted to stay at the CH. The people are friendly but the hotel has a few things that should be addressed. I had gotten several welcome emails throughout the weekend for a Sunday check-in but when we got there we were told to wait until 3 pm-- the time the check-in occurs. We were assigned a nice room with huge leather couch. It was very cold that weekend. Later in the day, after we returned from a nice dinner out, I realized we had no soap. no bar of soap and no shower gel. In the teenie tiny shower there was shampoo and conditioner. The slot for the shower gel was empty. I called the desk and she said that due to weather their shipment for soap had not come and that others were in the same boat. It was not just me. i said well, there is another Hilton right down the raad. why not borrow some from them. The woman at the desk said that it would be something the management would need to make a call about. I then said it seems as if the management did not know about this and that it is a rather big deal. The woman just apologized and said this is something that just happens. In all of my 50 years of traveling i have never been without soap. The next day I called again and asked the new woman at the desk if i would need to take a shower with shampoo? She didn't know what I was talking about so I told her. She said it was on the issues list. So it seems that no one bothered to tell management, that no one felt the need to get us soap. I asked if other cleaning supplies had also been affected-- what about my room? how was it cleaned? She said she did not know.
Another issue was the heating and cooling equipment. You could see directly outside from the window. Th window seal was wide open and it was cold in the room. Think of the energy they are wasting. Anyway, if I have to go back, I hope these things are taken care of. If you are staying here ask when you check in if there is soap, shampoo etc. They did not tell anyone ahead of time. but the fireplace was lovely.
I travel a lot for work and consequently end up staying in hotels frequently. I have been here less than 2 hours and can say this is the best hotel experience I can even remember. The two ladies at the front desk were extremely kind from the second I walked through the door. You can order breakfast to be delivered to your room in a to go container. My room is nice and the hvac adjusted to my set temperature almost immediately. Pet friendly.
I hate that I’m just passing through for the holidays because if this hotel was somewhere I normally stay I would never book somewhere else.
It was clean and we loved how it was updated! I use to stay here over 20+ years ago!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing. The wonderful Ms. Lisa is the nicest woman that From the moment I arrived, Lisa Johnson at the front desk set the tone for an incredible stay. She was genuinely sweet, welcoming, and attentive — the kind of person who instantly makes you feel at home.
Lisa went above and beyond during check-in. Her professionalism and attention to detail were flawless, crossing every t and dotting every i without missing a thing. She anticipated my needs, answered every question with patience, and made the entire process smooth and easy.
Employees like Lisa are rare. She doesn’t just do her job — she excels at it with pride, warmth, and a level of care you don’t see every day. She is, without question, one of the best front desk professionals I’ve ever encountered.
I would return to this property solely because of the exceptional service Lisa Johnson provided. She deserves full recognition for her outstanding hospitality.
Property was adequate. Bed was comfortable.
Bathroom was small and inadequate for adults. Toilet too low and toilet paper dispenser attached in an awkward position to reach.
location and staff excellent
Bed was comfortable
Halls dirty, elevators dirty, breaker in our room blew so no electricity one night, water was off one day, room was big but had a bed and one chair
Very comfortable room and bed. Restaurant served fabulous food, nice wine at a reasonable price.
