Great location, but needs updating
Pros:

The website does a nice job showcasing the hotel, however, I was disappointed with the hotel once I arrived. The lobby looks nice, but I was very unhappy with the condition of both of our rooms. The bathrooms were very outdated and in poor condition, the carpet was stained in many places, and the walls were in need of paint. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is close to restaurants, shops, and the Kilkenny castle.

Excellent staff
Pros:

Excellent location, such. vibe in the hotel and down to the staff. Rooms are so clean and fresh. The food tge tge restaurant was so well presented and tasted even better.

Lovely hotel

Family get away
Pros:

This was our 4th time staying in this hotel, its location is great, a 2 minute walk to Kilkenny Castle at the end of the road, shop's, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance, the staff at the hotel are excellent, nice and friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous hotel as always
Pros:

We married there in 2023 & love our trip back every year . Lovely comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We had dinner in the restaurant it was delicious

Location, location and service.
Pros:

Usually visit Kilkenny in Spring/Autumn but decided to try height of summer. Only real choice of hotel was the Ormonde. Simply never disappoints. We had small issue over booking but immediately addressed by the manager, Colin, and sorted. The overall level of service is great. Was contacted prior to visit re event and had room significantly upgraded - a real pleasure. Really enjoyed our breakfast - not many hotels where the manager will roll up his sleeves and help serve the bacon! Must give special mention to Olivia in the restaurant - brigtens your day. Big plus for the hotel is the location. City centre and a large car park across the street. Looking fwd to returning.

Pros:

Second visit to The Ormonde ..Really central location.. lovely hotel .. very clean ..really friendly staff..especially Mags in the breakfast room ..such a nice lady .
Lovely touch with birthday plate in our room .. great to be able to use the pool & saunas .. would highly recommend.

Comfort
Pros:

The beds are just so comfortable :-) Also, had breakfast on one morning and as a coeliac was a bit worred (as always). However, the lady who was at the reception area of the dining room couldn't have been nicer and took it on herself to make sure the chef freshly prepared my breakfast in the kitchen.

Ideally located for exploring Kilkenny city.
Pros:

Ideal location minutes walk to the heart of the city. Lovely staff. Good breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. Didn’t have dinner here as we perfered to ramble down town

Haare in der Badewanne. Nirgends wurde erwähnt das Kinder nur bis 19uhr baden dürfen und Badekappenpflicht.

Staff was fantastic, breakfast was good.

Cons:

No A/C during a heat wave. Bathrooms in rooms were in quite shabby condition, stained carpets in rooms, restaurant closes quite early.
