Fair
I like the fact that it has a stove top, full size fridge amd most cooking items. I like that outside of the 2 beds in the room there is a sofa bed. There were 5 of us and we were comfortable enough.
The breakfast was a bit weird. There was not a lot of options when it came to the hot foods. My dog wouldn't even eat the eggs they served. They need more toasters, there was one. Maybe a waffle option? And two trays of each item to keep the line moving. Expect at least 30 mins to wait for the one worker to make more of whatever is out.
Also, there is no control over children running up and down the halls. The room above us had kids running around for hours. The front desk had to call them multiple times. I told them if these people didn't stop we would call local PD since it was already almost midnight. They stopped. Although, the next night, it was the same issue. We had to deal with it for hours, make threats to call PD for it to stop.
For what the hotel charges, it was falling a part. The lau dry room had 1 working washer and dryer. There were 3 others that were all out of order. That was a mess. If they're under new ownership it has to be way better than this. Unless, its an Extended Stay. The room was run down. Peeling paint, mold on the ceilings in the bathroom, carpets are filthy. Dishes were dirty, coffee pot was dirty. Trash outside in the pool and basketball area. Not enough staff.
I wish Booking would actually send someone anonymously, to stay in these places that are listed on their hotels to have better quality hotels and real honest reviews. Booking you have to do better in who you take on as being a part of the site.
I had a very comfortable stay at Sonesta ES Suites San Diego – Rancho Bernardo. The rooms were large, spacious, and well equipped, which made the hotel especially nice for a longer stay. All of the fixtures and amenities in the room worked well and were kept in good condition.
The breakfast was also a nice part of the experience, with a good selection to start the day. Overall, the spacious rooms, helpful amenities, and enjoyable breakfast made my stay very pleasant. I would gladly stay here again.
We stayed at this hotel for four nights and five days while attending a friend's wedding. We chose this location because we had previously had a wonderful experience at another hotel in this brand, so we were looking forward to our stay. Aside from a pleasant check-in experience and a very comfortable bed, the rest of our stay was unfortunately very underwhelming.
As soon as we got to our room, we had issues with the air conditioning that required maintenance. During the first night, one of the toilets continuously ran, interrupting our sleep. Later in our stay, we had to call maintenance three separate times because the other toilet was leaking.
Breakfast was another disappointment. The food we were able to get was good, but only one morning was well stocked. On the other mornings, there was very little food available, no forks, and it took staff a long time to restock items. Many guests appeared frustrated by the delays as well.
Whenever we needed assistance, calling the front desk wasn't an option because the room phones weren't working, and no one answered when we tried. We had to go downstairs every time we needed help or had an issue, which became very inconvenient.
Parking was also difficult in the evenings because a large portion of the lot was blocked off for construction, making it hard to find a space after returning to the hotel.
The most disappointing part of our experience was at checkout. We politely shared our concerns with the front desk, but the employee we spoke with was dismissive and rude. The only compensation offered was reimbursement for our parking charges ($40), which did not feel appropriate considering the number of maintenance issues and inconveniences we experienced throughout our five-day stay.
It's unfortunate because we expected much better based on our previous experience with this hotel brand. We will not be staying at this location again, and I would encourage others to carefully consider their options before booking here.
Dirty, super dated and not well maintained. Shower didn’t get hot. Given a different room from the one I booked in advance. Pictures online look nothing like the rooms in person. No streaming apps, or phones on the rooms to contact the front desk. Surprised this place is still open……
Good location for Poway. Bed was comfortable. Apartment was very spacious.
Very dated - carpets looked dirty and ripped in one place. Shower did not work in one room which they fixed straight away. Breakfast was cheap and not great. Coffee barely drinkable. Paper plates and bendy plastic forks. It all felt very dark and dated. Not worth the money it was not a hotel feel more like a motel. Better to get an apartment which is fully kitted out and make your own breakfast. Stayed 3 nights - room was not made up or towels changed during this time. I would not go back.
Breakfast was good enough.
The phone system did not work when I was confirming my reservation. Eventually corporate headquarters contacted them for me.
The Staff was friendly, and the rooms were good and spacious. The location was central to so much.
The breakfast was very sad, there weren't many options and ran out quickly. There weren't any meat options, only eggs and bisquits. No mix for pancakes 2 different days, coffee had no options. We actually chose this location for the breakfast reviews looked good but they were nothing like the reviews. We went down for extra pillows and blankets and there were none. We paid for parking at the hotel and when we came back in the night had to park in the street because there were no spaces available 2 different nights.
This is an excellent extended stay hotel. Edward at the front desk offered a great check in ,and snacks upon arrival, our room was very spacious and clean, great water pressure and internet. The breakfast buffet included a great item selection every day ( they change the item variety every daily). It looks like there is new ownership, new decor, smiles, totally different that my last visit in November 2025. I have shared this information to my company, so far, it weas a great stay. I will be back next month.
Shiwer water pressure
Bed very comfortable
Size of the room
Microwave
Hot stove didn't function
Coach (banquet) old and soft no cushions
Very clean, and close to where I needed to be
Can’t think of anything
Our extended family reunion had four rooms for four nights, most of them two-bedroom suites. One family had to be moved from a suite with a flooded bathroom. Then they had to be moved from the second suite because of another flooded bathroom, but no other room was available that night. They had to crowd in with one of our other families for the night. The management thought they were being generous by not charging us for a flooded room that we did not use. They refused to comp us for the inconvenience of twice moving a family with young children and forcing them to double up with another family.
The other major problem was the Sunday morning breakfast. It was completely crowded, with not enough workers to keep up with the demand. Everything was running out, and our breakfast was pitiful. Staffing was also lacking at the front desk, where a long line formed during slow check-ins with only one person working the desk.
The rooms themselves were quite outdated and not in good shape. The sofa cushions especially needed to be replaced. They were almost flat. We all had the general feeling that the owners of this hotel do not want to put any money into upkeep or decent staffing. We used to stay here in past years and it was much better, but we will never stay here again.
Wonderful staff, very friendly, nice clean hotel, big rooms, nice pool. Close to coffee shops and restaurants.
I was happy with everything
I did not stay and I need a refund. There was no food and no alcohol. I was hungry so I had to leave. I did not like the attitude of the counter staff. I was there fleeing a fire near my house. We were asked to evacuate.
