staff was great
it was new years eve so was a little pricey
The location was great & the staff was super friendly & accomodating. The vibe of Sohotel was exactly what we were looking for and it’s decorated so cute.
The lighting in the room could be a bit better & easier to figure out. Having individual light switches for the overhead lights at the bed was nice, but discovered a bit late. The hotels website states the bathroom floors are heated, but mine was freezing cold tile.
L’hôtel est idéalement placé. Le personnel est très sympathique et très pro. Quel sens du client! On a passé un excellent séjour.
Perfect location close to chinatown and Little Italy, bridges, and choice of subway stations.
Family rooms
Rooms a little bit snug for 5 people and luggage but you make it work
location, good vibes. oveerall great.
Great Location, Disappointing room
We chose the Sohotel primarily for its location, but also because it was not a cookie cutter chain hotel.
The first minor problem was the lobby location on the second floor. In addition, this hotel has no elevator so if you have any mobility issues do not stay here.
Then unfortunately, our room, 234, was terribly small even for New York. It had no shelves or closet space, merely one long counter that you could barely get past at the end of the bed. Hangers were on a rod against the wall which was rather awkward. The very tiny bathroom was a step up from the room, great tripping hazard, and the heating unit didn’t work.
For heat there was a small piece of cast iron baseboard radiator near the window, but it made so much hissing and banging noise that it kept us up the first night, so I had to close the valve each night before bed then open it again in the morning.
The final disappointment was the corridor and lobby smell. It smelled like those room freshening sticks that are placed in a glass jar with some kind of scented liquid. Very unpleasant.
I think we will look elsewhere the next time we choose to stay in this area.

In a brilliant location-very close to Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho , Greenwich, Brooklyn Bridge and underground stations. Great not being in the chaos of Midtown! Loved the cosy and comfortable decor . Friendly and helpful staff. Help yourself to Tea and coffee in the morning was a bonus. Would definitely stay here again if returning to NY
Not enough clothes hanging for 4 people
Location was great!
friendly staff, room was always clean when we came back from a long day of exploring. excellent location for shopping and close proximity to subways like the J, Z, D, B, etc.
no elevator so it's inconvenient for travelers with lots of stuff. but staff can help you with carrying your luggage to the reception desk which was on the second floor. room and bathroom were smaller than depicted on the hotel's site but that's kind of the norm in nyc so whatever
Was beautiful and clean! Staff was amazing!
No elevator
Great location with access to the best of Soho. Great value for what NYC hotels usually cost, but the rooms and bathrooms are small. The bathroom is actually tiny. Still, I enjoyed my stay. I read a lot of reviews about how lous it was, but I did not have that problem.
Bathrooms are extremely small.
