This place is absolutely magical! We keep coming back time and time again to celebrate our special occasions—birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and more.
The staff are among the friendliest you'll find anywhere. They greet you with a genuine smile the moment they see you and go above and beyond to ensure you feel at home and cared for.
At check-in, you're welcomed with a glass of champagne, and children receive a fox stuffed animal on their first stay.
In the room, it's the thoughtful details that warm both your heart and your belly and prepare you for a restful night's sleep after a long day of horseback riding, working, exploring town, or simply relaxing. Turndown service includes lemon water and chocolate chip cookies. In the bath, you'll find sugar scrub and The Willcox branded soap accompanied by a sprig of lavender, inviting you to pause, breathe, and let your nervous system relax, and the bed is so comfortable, you just may have the best sleep that you've had in years (as I have!). Shout out to Marsha, Shamon, and the rest of their incredible team who keeps it clean and safe (plus maintenance staff).
By the pool, they'll bring not only water and your favorite beverage, but also a water bowl for your pup (on a leash). Shout to to Lila and Jason.
At the spa, Kendra, Megan, and Heather meticulously support your mind and body with their massage, mani and pedis making you feel refreshed, calm, and confident.
We are so grateful for all they do and for who they are. We'll keep coming back for many years to come!
Hotel is gorgeous and staff is wonderful. The only issue we had during our stay was the housekeeping staff left cleaner and a spare sheet in our room. We noticed this after returning from dinner, which I found odd. Otherwise, everything was excellent. We especially enjoyed the pool.
The moment you arrive, you will realize this is not a cookie-cutter mainstream deluxe hotel. The Willcox is a step into the lost art of gracious hospitality and refined yet relaxing atmosphere. There is an abundance of free parking and after 3:00PM complimentary valet service is available (Gabe and his partner are an excellent and engaging team).
The entrance is not your traditional sterile lobby - instead, you enter into a clubby wood paneled lounge (traditional comfy chairs and sofas) with a grand piano and two fireplaces. (The ladies’ room even features a fireplace and rolled hand-towels). The check-in area is tucked away in the back and paperwork is completed efficiently with glasses of champagne to complete the process. There are no key-cards nor other electronic challenges anywhere. Old-world room keys are the norm. And the staff does not recognize the word “no” to any request!
Our room and amenities left nothing to be desired. The decor exudes quality and comfort. Evening turndown service was discreet and much appreciated.
We enjoyed lunch, evening cocktails and appetizers (Daniel procured a table we had our eyes on) and breakfast - and we never once had a desire to leave The Willcox premises.
If you favor a modern and hip deluxe hotel, you’re in the wrong place. At The Willcox, you will never see chrome, stainless steel, white walls or loud “background” music. You WILL find gracious employees and a slowed-down pace. Take a deep breath and relax on the front porch rocking chairs with an after dinner cocktail. You’re at The Willcox.
We drove up from Charleston and just booked a return trip for early September.
This is an outstanding hotel. We stayed in the Roosevelt suite. Bathroom well appointed. The handmade local soap was a lovely touch.
Bedroom was large and comfortable. The bed could use new pillows, but the sheets were great. The living room was a perfect place for us to get work done, and we loved having a glass of wine at sunset on the balcony.
The valets were very accommodating. The guest service people were helpful in finding a gift for a friend for us.
Dinner here on Thursday night was excellent
We each ate a different dish from sisters and main courses
Food and service first class
Expresso Martini wow !
Music was good but the singer should stick to playing rather than singing !
Loved our stay!!
Nothing
This inn is so unique. Very elegant but comfortable
We loved everything
The meal wait staff were very nice. We thought the location was very good for walking into town. It is a charming old inn. The pool area was nice though we didn't swim as it was too cool (late October).
The was a little noise in the room from the bar area downstairs.
Overall great experience from check in to check out.
Great location. Walking distance to shops and galleries.
Stayed here for our Anniversary on a Wed. night. Rooms was spacious and spotless. Bed very comfortable. Turn down service included chilled citrus water.
Happy hour busy with reasonable prices. Had dinner. Runs about $100.+ pp with a glass of wine, incl. tax and tip and is well done. Next AM is a sit down complimentary breakfast.
Highly recommend.
Wonderful stay all around.
The Wilcox will certainly be our “go to” hotel when we visit Aiken, the staff is amazing and attentive … the hotel is beautiful and located perfectly in historic Aiken. 5 Stars!
The room was amazing and the bath butler add on was worth every penny!
One of the best stays we've had in a while. The property is very unique, having a historic vibe. The lobby entrance had plenty of seating space, a piano and a quaint lobby bar. It is very quiet in the mornings, but livens up at night due to the bar and spacious places to meet with friends. The well appointed rooms are very comfortable. The Spa Service was excellent as well all service received at check-in, at the bar, and for all meals, which were amazing. And turn down service was a treat, especially with the yummy cookies and fresh water provided. We will definitely be back.
What a wonderful historical place to have dinner. My husband & I, along with our pup Hachi were fortunate to have dinner & drinks last night in the delightful lobby area. Dinner was delish, the ambience awesome & our server (Jaylen) was simply wonderful. He was polité, knowledgeable & just a pleasure. He kept checking on us, & his suggestions were on point. We are looking forward to return soon.
