The rooms was amazing. The customer service was exceptional. They extended our stay for my family amd even brought us a microwave! Absolutely had an amazing time! Our view was great from the patio and the breakfast was big portions and delicious. Definitely going to be visiting again.

Proximity to the water—being right on Mission Bay with easy access to the beach and a nice view from the grounds was easily the single highlight.
I expected a much higher standard for the price point, but Bahia Resort fell far short in almost every category. The overall value for money is just not there given the lack of facilities and subpar service.
Hygiene Issues: Finding cockroaches in the room was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, housekeeping never changed our bedsheets once during the entire stay.
Lackluster Service: Basic amenities were a constant hassle. Housekeeping failed to restock new bottled water daily, forcing me to repeatedly go out of my way to ask the front desk for standard supplies.
Overpriced & Outdated: The facilities are extremely limited compared to what you pay, and the property feels worn down and poorly maintained.
Between the pest issues, neglectful housekeeping, and sparse amenities, I cannot recommend staying here. You can find far better quality and service elsewhere for this price.

I bought 4 day/3 night stay at Bahia Resort a few days before arrival, so it was expensive for a family of 6. But I did not have much choice since the other beachfront hotels were a lot more expensive. Unfortunately I got it through expedia and without realizing it, ended up getting the Resort/Garden view, which was a parking lot view. So upon arrival, I asked for an ungrade (they had already said no in the email), and the manager was kind enough to say, wait until the next day, and ask again, and they might do an upgrade for us. They did! We got the beachfront (Bay view) king suite at a same price. We were very happy. They also brought in an extra rolling bed because the room had a king bed, not queen bed.
Pro: Nice bay view, cleaner room with a kitchenette. Friendly staff, nice ground with a convenient location. Good food. Close to San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Balboa Park..
Con: The fridge did not work. However, when I called, they switched it right away. The sink was a bit clogged, but we decided not to bother and used the kitchen sink instead. When we checked in at 5 pm, they asked us to wait again, to get a text when the room is ready. So we ended up going to dinner with all our luggages in the car trunk first. They texted us about 30 minutes later to let us know the room is ready. The sofabed is very uncomfortable, and the bed very soft, not firm which is what I'm used to.
If you are expecting a resort-like room, get Catamaran sister hotel, which is an upgrade. But if you want to save some money, go with Bahia. Our room was nice, nothing fancy and nothing like the pictures you saw on their website, but still nice and convenient. My kids (2teens+2college kids) really enjoyed the stay, though we were cramped a bit.
If I had a choice, I would not book at Mission Bay, but La Jolla. Mission Bay is over-rated, imho. We ended up snorkeling at La Jolla anyway, which had cleaner water.
Overall, we had a good time. The picture is taken from the suite window.

Absolutely awful experience. I’m baffled by the positive reviews & suspect that the hotel is paying to have negative reviews removed.
Overpriced with dirty, dingy rooms. We will never stay here again. When we checked into the room, the first thing that hit us was the smell of mildew and some sort of chemical smell. There was visible mildew in the bathtub. The bathroom fan was broken, the AC barely worked, & the freestanding fan was coated with dust. The carpet & furniture were dingy & old. The lights flickered and the lamps got hot so we turned them off to avoid an electrical fire. Within 30 minutes of being in the room, my throat was sore and I felt nauseous.
We went to the front desk to ask for a new room and they were accommodating and gave us another similar room. The new room still smelled like chemicals but was at least mildew-free. In the morning, all 3 of us staying in the room woke up with bloodshot, inflamed eyes and sore throats, likely because of all the dust in the room. Every Bayside unit needs a full renovation. We shouldn’t need a hazmat suit to sleep in a room that costs $400+ a night.
To add insult to injury, this morning we were charged another $100 for a “parking fee”—$48 per day plus tax just to park our rental car onsite.
The grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly, but none of that makes up for the awful, disgusting, unsanitary rooms.
L’emplacement prêt de tous les grands attraits touristiques,c’était génial! L’hôtel en bord de l’eau,avec une piscine très agréable pour toute la famille. Mission Beach à quelques centaines de mètres à pieds. Chambre un peu vieillissante,mais très confortable. Les deux restaurants de l’hôtel étaient délicieux avec leur personnel très gentil! Merci pour ces 10 jours passés!

Hotel had lots of amenities. And staff was excellent.
Discrimination, even tho I paid for multiple drinks and food and I was treated like a person who didn’t follow their rules or just skipping rules, being Latino on this place will make you a target. This is so sad.
