Very disappointing
Pros:

The restaurants were very nice, reasonably priced, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Cons:

The room was in terrible condition. The carpet was filthy, the wallpaper was peeling, the furniture was broken. The room was not designed for extended stay. The layout and the size of the bathroom made it tricky for a family of three to stay comfortably. There was no storage in the actual bathroom. We had to use the bar area for toiletries . And housekeeping only came once. One day we were gone from early morning till 3pm and they still hadn't come. We chose Bahia because of the activities, but they were a lot less impressive in person. The private beach wasn't someplace we wanted to get in the water, and the cabanas were very dirty. I don't know how often they clean them but we didn't want to touch the pillows. There is a small playground, there is a pickle ball or tennis court, we never used. The garden is a nice walk through and the seals were fun. There were no paddle boat rentals and the riverboat only runs on Sunday. They are renovating rooms, but ours clearly wasn't. I don't know how many are already renovated, but they shouldn't be using the rooms that aren't if they are in as bad condition as ours was. I have stayed at some really cheap hotels with better rooms than this one. We mad ethe best of it and had a great vacation despite the room and lack of activities. It definitely eas not a resort room, and was not worth the money. We would only stay again if a renovated room was guaranteed and the price was dropped significantly.

A Getaway at your Getaway!!!
Pros:

A Getaway at your getaway!!!

Bahia has to be hands down one THE BEST resort in Mission Bay, and a stones throw away from Belmont Park and Mission Beach.

Upon arriving, we did have a few slight hiccups with our room, (we had to move a few times) First room, no AC. Second Room, No Electricity, Third Room was near the lobby and not so private like our original….. However, our 4th room was wonderful!!! All thanks to Georgia!!! She really took care of my partner and I, as it was our first trip together and we were very overdue for a vacation. Obviously some things are out of peoples control, and I’m beyond grateful for the

We stayed in a King Suite, which was super comfortable and the access to the bay was just steps from our room right onto the beach.

My dog also had a wonderful time!!! He was welcomed just as much as we were. Having the ability to swim and play fetch in the bay really made our trip whole.

We had dinner and cocktails at Bianci and had wonderful service. Sophia went above and beyond to give us amazing recommendations as well as pleasant and fabulous conversation. She even catered to my dog and brought him water and lots of love!!! The Manager (whose name I forgot) and the bartender “Senaida” were also super hospitable.

Overall the entire trip was wonderful and my partner and I will absolutely be back in the near future!

Thanks so much for the amazing time!!! And thank you Georgia for taking the best care of us that I’ve ever experienced in San Diego!

Meh not worth the money
Pros:

We liked the size of the room.

Cons:

We originally booked a room with a view but were changed. I had been messaging months in advance to make sure with zero response. Our room over viewed the parking lots full
Of homeless people. Room was musty and not clean found food and legit finger nails under the living room dresser. The beach for the hotel was dirty lots of trash the picking beach was cleaner which was sad since there were lots of homeless. Least it was all walking Lack of communication from property and what they take for incidentals was a little upsetting since I wasn’t prepared for that much but I get it. We were also supposed to have a kitchenette that didn’t happen and no items to eat off of, I pinch my Pennie’s and everything that we were prepared to get we didn’t get. However if you use your incidentals you’re pretty much seen as at risk and they take more from your card. Again I get it but for a holiday weekend and we only spent 220 out of the 600 little upsetting. Just would like better communication. Staff were nice but again the rudeness when we asked about why they took more were rude and we were told because we can. Policies were vague, we just tried to make the best of the rest of the trip for what you pay for a room you don’t get anything no food included, no drinks I mean a dirty room. We got more and a much nicer room at a holiday express. For a resort I would have expected better which is what we were hoping for the experience. O well least the bed were comfortable and the room space was great. We choose it for the reviews but it really is not family friendly more of a business meeting and adult place who wants quiet. We did have lots of families the few I spoke with were also in the same boat as well feeling like we all walked on eggshells. I have little kids and I’m super strict especially in public but even when they are walking being quiet it still felt just off I dunno if your a mom you know what I mean. We won’t be staying here again which is a bummer we had high hopes.

Staff goes above and beyond
Pros:

The staff at the Bahia go above and beyond. We dined at the Bianchi and my shoe broke. Our awesome server, Alex, offered to help find something to fix my shoe. She brought me some Goriila Glue and I tried that. It held though dinner and walking to the event at the resort. As we walked into the event though it broke again. A staff member who was greeting guests at the door (I didn’t catch his name, but he was very helpful) noticed my dilemma and offered to find someone to help. He found the general manager, Babett Hirzel, who offered to get my shoe fixed and provide a pair I could wear that evening. She definitely saved the night for me as the event was a second chance prom and I planned to dance a lot. The banquet manager, Cheryl Smith, was also very helpful that evening in connecting me with Babett again at the end of the event. I would highly recommend the Bahia, you will be well taken care of.

Cute old hotel with beautiful grounds/views
Pros:

Stayed 2 nights for the family event.

We were upgraded to the Bay Front room on 4th floor, which was the end of the complex and had fantastic views of water and everything.

Room:
Had two queen beds, 3 seater sofa and 2 chairs, has small kitchen area with mini fridge, microwave and sink with breakfast nook with 2 high stools which really helped. Bathroom has separate vanity area which really helped for make up and other stuffs.
Views facing Bay was so beautiful with large sliding glass opens to a good size balcony. Sliding glass was probably original from 50s or 60s, so it does make lots of noise open/close, no sheer curtains. But we still loved our views and room.

Location:
I was living in SD before, never thought this location could be convenient. Walking distance to the Mission beach, Pacific beach nearby and lots of cute stores/restaurants nearby. I drove to bagle stores and bakery every morning in the area, which was so fun.

Grounds:
Property has everything: Seal pool (which was surprised, 2 rescued seals in the pool by the front desk!), Swimming pool, tennis courts with pickleball (with nets). We didn't have any time to use them, definitely it has resort facilities and can enjoy as resort hotels. Super kids friendly. Every building has open feelings and left the entry door open to get the beautiful breeze/weather in San Diego.

Hotel staffs:
Very welcoming, very friendly, prompt. Couldn't be better!

We stayed at Bvlgari hotel, Ritz, Peninsula in other cities, but this hotel has its own charm and we really enjoyed our stay! Loved it.

Trashy Resort
Pros:

Convenient location; and that's the only positive thing I can say.

The rooms are badly outdated, right down to the cheap, scratchy bed linens. There is no central air-conditioning, and the bedroom in our suite had no AC unit at all. We booked the suite specifically so our baby could sleep in the separate room, but our room was so hot I couldn't sleep a single night of our four-night stay. To make it worse, the standalone AC unit pulled air in from outside, and the guests below us smoked weed constantly. Our room reeked the entire trip.

There was no hot water. Housekeeping never cleaned our room once in four nights. They came by twice, but always at 3 PM during our baby's nap. On day three I asked the housekeeper if she could come back in 20 minutes when the baby would be up, and she flatly said no, she didn't have time. Every other hotel I've stayed at cleans earlier in the day and is willing to work around guests' schedules.

The pool area was rowdy and uncomfortable, and the front desk was not particularly friendly or helpful when issues came up.

For what this place charges, the condition of the rooms, the lack of basic amenities like working hot water and functional AC, and the indifference from staff are unacceptable. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

Overall, it was a very clean, quiet resort.
Pros:

I really enjoy the location being in a center of Mission Bay. Having access to the tennis courts, gym and pool was definitely a plus.

Cons:

Prior to my arrival, I communicated with staff about having a stove/oven in the room and I was confirmed. Yes so I brought a lot of food since it was a long stay comes to find out there was not one so a lot of food was wasted.
