The amenities are great. The pool, hot tub, towels and drinking water cooler and cups poolside are great. Having the calm beach front entrance is wonderful. However, I stayed in a king room and it does not look as nice as the pictures online make it. The carpet is stained, I killed two medium sized bugs myself, the comforter is very thin and when I arrived it had a very musky smell. There are areas of the room that are very worn. There’s no ceiling light and even with the curtains open because of the direction my room faces it was very dark. They did refund me $50 compensation for having to kill the bugs. The cabanas on the beach need upkeep, some mold on the pillows. For the cost to stay per night, I was expecting top quality like the photos advertise. I’m on a teachers salary and used a gift to cover this cost to enjoy a little summer break. It was not worth the price sadly.
The Bahia hotel is great. The staff are excellent, the grounds are well kept, the rooms are nice and location is perfect. I will definitely stay here again.
I hate one of the greatest rooms with a beautiful waterfront view I've ever stated in .Everytime I needed water or coffee they gave me what I needed even went out of their way at their way to get me a few apples for breakfast to take with my medicine. The front desk was kind coming and leaving. I'll Stay there again someday in beautiful San Diego! Josh
View, cleanliness of property, staff was wonderful, restaurant was great both times
Deanna cove is disgusting, homeless people everywhere, didn't feel safe walking around
I would like to take a moment to recognize Heather for her outstanding professionalism, dedication, and exceptional customer service. From the beginning, she showed genuine care and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Even when there were a few unexpected issues, Heather handled everything with patience, understanding, and professionalism. What stood out most was her willingness to listen, take action, and make every effort to turn the situation around.
Because of her care and commitment, my daughters were able to truly enjoy their experience, especially the private beach and pool, which created special memories for our family. Her hard work and attention to detail did not go unnoticed.
Heather is a true asset to the hotel, and her dedication to maintaining high standards and guest satisfaction is commendable. We are deeply grateful for everything she has done and hope her efforts are recognized.
At first they could not find our booking because it was through booking.com so they could not find our reservation that started as a headache then we go to our room it is not clean so then we go down there and we talk about it and they offer us an upgrade, which was better. The room was hot and there was only a fan as the AC only went in the living room got locked out of the hotel two times because the battery died on the door.
Nice and clean
Didn’t have enough time to stay
Walking distance to the beach and restaurants and shops
Huge property on the older side. So rooms are a bit dingy and old
Perfect location, calm and quiet bay to relax on day and night plus an easy walk to Mission and Pacific Beach. Love the thoughtful details i.e. cabanas on private beach, beautiful and well maintained grounds, attentive staff and management. Everyone here works hard to maintain the resort feel.
The TV covered the bedroom window in the particular room we had. Wish the restaurant had more vegan options other than hummus and salad, but luckily lots of other options in SD.
The location was good. The food at the restaurants was good as well.
It had been a very long time since we stayed at the Bahia and I was looking forward to the room service they used to have. Unfortunately, they no longer have it so it was a disappointment for me.
The view and convenience of having a private beach was nice
The rooms were small, and seemed outdated for the price. Unfortunately our beachfront room wasn’t ready by the “guaranteed” 4PM hour and we had to wait an additional 30 min before receiving our room key. Normally I wouldn’t make a deal out of this but after making an 11 hr road trip with 3 kids (6,4,1) I at least expected to be able to check in by 4PM knowing that previous guests must check out by 11AM. To add on this, we woke up to ants our first morning everywhere on top of our large dresser and couldn’t find the location where they were coming through. We had ordered small box of donuts from our first night and ants seemed to find their way to them overnight. After requesting maintenance to come spray the room that morning, the staff was very responsive and attentive. They cleaned the room, aired it out after spraying, and even left cookies and strawberries in our fridge. We enjoyed them but kept them stored in the fridge for the next two days to avoid risk of any ants again. There were a few ants here and there again throughout the next 2 days but were manageable to get rid of and nothing like the first morning. The convenience of having a great view and private beach was a plus since we were hardly in the room except for sleeping at night. Overall it was a decent stay.
I loved that everyone was friendly and everything was clean! overall great atmosphere and location was great for everything we needed :)
