No remote living room torn drapery damaged fridge
I liked the location and the cleanliness of the room. Front desk people were very helpful and friendly.
I thought the room was a bit dark and there were no offers in the lobby like years ago. Cookies and happy hour.
Do not stay here - it is not the typical Residence Inn in terms of cleanliness, service, or amenities. This must be a franchise! The pool is being remodeled and is not on the website saying that. Rooms are soo dated and filthy. Housekeeping came once in 7 night stay - and they just replaced towels, didn’t even make a bed. They charged $4.99 for parking and when I questioned it at check out, the employee told me “it is what it is and I’m not making any adjustments”. She refused to give me her name. I told her this place was a dump and she said “yes this hotel is a dump, but it kept you safe”. I replied, “we are in Carmel, the best city in the state in Indiana”. The only person who was service minded was Erika Y who worked the breakfast buffet. We checked out 3 days ago and still trying to reach a manager - nobody returns a call and nobody can say when a manager will be there. Marriott Corporate needs to get involved as this place is an embarrassment.
As a Marriott Bonvoy elite member, we were profoundly disappointed with this property. We are even more disappointed in the Marriott corporation given their lack of any response to our concerns. DO NOT stay in this hotel.
From the get-go, this hotel reeks of outdated infrastructure, design and furniture. It looks like it was a nursing home converted to a hotel. Everything is dirty, the lights are dim throughout, and the furniture is chipped and old.
The room was a huge disappointment. Old furniture, pillows that look and feel like they are 20 years old, and multiple dysfunctional aspects. Our bathtub did not drain. There was one remote for three televisions! When we complained to the front desk about this, their response was “oh well, people steal them sometimes.” They never replaced remotes. The carpet in the room was dirty and disgusting. I could go on and on, but I won’t.
Suffice it to say this is a completely outdated, poorly upkept, and dingy hotel. And theprice point was nearly $430 per night. Absolutely unacceptable.
We will now transfer all of our business to the Hyatt and Hilton brands. They at least respond when there is a major disappointment in one their properties. I have sent two messages via my Bonvoy app and have had zero response.
Marriott, I hope you see this and can explain how you possibly can include this property in your portfolio. What a disgrace.
The staff were friendly and helpful, but for the money paid, the room wasn’t worth it. It was in a state of disrepair- peeling & flaking plaster, torn drapes, gum in carpet, a shoe print on the bathroom ceiling where someone killed a spider. It was supposed to be serviced every other day (per their website), but never was (over a 3 day stay). I had to make multiple trips to the front desk to get supplies. Very disappointed in the stay.
I'm going to start with the positives of our stay and that was 2 separate employees. The first one is Lee who was at the front desk during the evening/night shift of our stay. He was so accommodating when we needed to extend our stay and was able to give us a decent price. He did this not only once , but two separate times as we were here for a baseball tournament and needed to extend the stay longer than we had planned. The other staff was Erika, who runs the breakfast in the morning. I have never seen someone in this position so efficient, kept everything stocked, was upbeat, and so kind and accommodating. One of the mornings my son came down after breakfast had been over for a good half hour. Erika, offered him some muffins and fruit that she had already put away. She was awesome.
Now for the rest, this hotel is very old and is in desperate need of updates. The first night after driving 11 hours, we were put in a room that had a window air conditioner with gaps all around it. The duct tape was not doing the trick. The temp outside was in the 90's. It was so hot. I had to jimmy-rig a towel around the unit to try and keep the hot air from coming in. The same room was supposed to have a pullout couch that my 16 year old son was going to sleep in. There was only one little section of the couch in the room which was more of a lounge piece, while the actual pullout part of the couch was missing. The next evening after baseball was completed for the day, I talked to Lee and he was so apologetic , and was able to put us in another room. This room had central air and the pullout couch.I will say that the room was clean. Everything else definitely needs some updates. The towels were ratty, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, there were black spots on the ceiling in the bathroom, which i'm guessing could have been mold, and the carpets are very old throughout the hotel. This hotel also had various smells that I can't say were pleasant and depending which floor you were on, the smells were different, but again not pleasant. It was kind of bizarre. I guess since I'm on a roll I'll add a few other observations. The bathroom off the lobby was always missing toilet paper and the workout area had overflowing garbage and all used towels with nothing fresh. The pool was out of commission for maintenance or something. Well that's all I have to say. There are many hotels in the area to choose from and my suggestion is to look elsewhere.
The hotel is older and in need of a refresh, but the staff is outstanding. We were checking in at 10:00 PM on a Saturday night after a horrible three days attending to our son who was hospitalized in St. Vincent’s iCU. We were greeted by Lee who was efficient, knowledgeable, and so very warm and welcoming. Lee made us feel right at home.
We were here for a lacrosse tournament this weekend. While the hotel itself is dated and needs a facelift desperately, the staff is tremendous. Working hard to make sure they do everything in their power to keep a smile on our face. Erika, who did a great job keeping the breakfast full, went out of her way to get a different type of sweetener for my coffee from a different hotel. She didn’t need to do that. But she happily did with a smile. We don’t find these type of folks often in hospitality.
The staff was so kind - especially Erika Y, who made our hectic morning before our first game with her kindness and good wishes. Thanks for making my kiddos smile!
Great customer service and great experience lovely staff
We had a total of six rooms at this place, and every one of my colleagues had issues of their own, including the air-conditioning breaking, long hair in their shower, and just general disrepair of furniture, etc. My personal experience involved ants on my nightstand and bed, combined with staff that essentially told me I was lying that there weren’t ants, so I had to prove to them the next morning evening that there were ants with pictures and videos. I never got so much as an apology! Add to that the general disrepair of this location, a dilapidated pool, and I would sincerely recommend you not stay here! I am a longtime Marriott rewards member, and lifetime platinum status, and this is the worst stay that I’ve experienced in my 40 years of travel! One bright light was Erica who was in charge of the breakfast area who was prompt, courteous, and kept things extremely well stocked! Thanks Erica for the one bright spot. !!
Erica has been fantastic! From putting out a delicious breakfast to helping fill up all the water bottle with ice! She’s great!
If you like housekeeping entering your room before you’ve checked out and helping themselves to your food, this is the place for you.
I originally booked the SpringHill Suites 8 months in advance, only to be walked to this Residence Inn upon arrival. To make matters worse, this property refused to honor Marriott’s Ultimate Reservation Guarantee and charged me for both nights. They also attempted to charge me an additional $300, which took nearly two hours on the phone with Marriott Corporate to resolve.
The room itself was unacceptable. It was dirty, had ants throughout, hair in multiple areas, a shower that didn’t drain, windows that wouldn’t close properly, and the pool wasn’t even open. The room door also didn’t seal correctly. You could actually see into the hallway when it was “closed,” which is a major security and privacy concern.
This was easily the worst Marriott experience I’ve ever had. Between the reservation issues, billing problems, poor room conditions, and poor management from Ghoman Resorts, I cannot recommend this property to anyone. It’s been 2 weeks and still no response from the GM who was supposed to call me before the end of the night.
Avoid this hotel by all means.
I had a wonderful experience during my stay, and I especially want to recognize one of the employees I believe her name was Roni, for providing exceptional customer service. From the moment I arrived, she was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely made me feel valued as a guest. Her beautiful smile and warm personality created such a positive atmosphere and made my stay even more enjoyable.
I also want to compliment her on breakfast—it was absolutely amazing! Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and it was the perfect way to start the day.
Thank you for making my stay so pleasant. Outstanding customer service like this is what keeps guests coming back. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again!
The property was located in a good area. I was disappointed that the pool was closed.
What really made me give low scores was when we arrived we didn’t have a room. Somehow booking.com never relayed them the information. We had to wait for 30 minutes before we were connected to someone from booking.com. In the meantime we were supposed to be at my grandson’s baseball tournament, which we didn’t get there til 45 minutes later.
Residence Inn finally had a room for us, which I was so happy for. Otherwise we would have returned back home. I’m thankful we went to the hotel when we arrived rather than to the baseball game. Otherwise it would have been very late at night to try to sort things out.
Not having an operable pool. We were offered the hotel pool across Residence Inn.
The hotel room was extremely dirty. Floor soiled, gooey/stinky stains all over the doors/handles, the insides of dressers; the remotes black and missing backs; the refrigerator dirty/dented. The entire room definitely needed some detailed cleaning. Did not complain about the unsanitary conditions; but rather picked up bleach wipes at the grocery store and sanitized the place myself. Room 127. I should have followed my gut and asked for a new room earlier. After we were there for a few hours my daughter asked me to look at something outside. I noticed that the window screens had been cut out. The frame was still there, but someone had cut out the middle of it, trying to get in or out. That's when I noticed that the windows were not locked so I tried to lock them. Unsuccessfully. The windows in the bedroom (on the right upon entry) did not lock at all. Anyone could have walked in. I was traveling with three young children and it was a very unsafe situation. I went to the front desk and politely asked for a different room. I could not even finish my sentence before the male attendant talked loudly over me mid sentence as if drowning out my voice was going to the solve the problem. I repeated my request, which not caused him to say in an even louder voice that he had no other rooms and there was nothing he could do. I asked a manager and was told that not only was there one not on duty, but there was nothing even one who could be called. I have worked in customer service for over 30 years now, and I have yet to find myself in a similar situation. He did not offer any help, just kept talking over me hoping I would go away. He told me I was feee to leave, which we did do after calling corporate to find a new room. And while the agent on the phone did manage to find an available room at the same hotel (unlike what I was just told at the front desk) I was appalled at the hotel's indifference to safety concerns, let alone the filthy room and the misogynistic attitude of the staff, and did not intend to stay there one second longer. Also, the back door on the first floor of the hotel did not close unless pulled very firmly, allowing non-registered guests on the property after hours. Another major safety issue.
I contacted Marriott about this almost 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive a reply from management on any level.
NIce area good breakfast BRE the front desk worker was great each time i seen her she always had a smile on her face and in a great mood ....definitely what you need for the face of the hotel
Great atmosphere staff was really nice, Steph came out and bring us basket of waters during the hot summer. Great time.
