Good location
MOLD ALL IN THE BATHROOM ON THE CEILING! PLUS THEY CHARGED EXTRA $20 FOR 2 ADULT WOMEN/SISTER WHO WERE IN THE ROOM LESS THAN 12 HOURS...TRAVELING FOR SCHOOL. NOT HAPPY!
We have stayed at this hotel numerous times on our way to OBX. Our last stay was Friday, May 8. No problems with the room. Several days after leaving I became aware that I left my zip up hoodie in my room. My wife called and talked to an employee, describing the lost item. The employee said they hat the sweat shirt at the hotel and would hold it.
We went to pick it up Saturday afternoon, May16. The sweat shirt they offered me was not the one that I had left behind. It was a very busy check-in time and an employee trainee was gracious enough to take my information and told me that they would check some more and she would notify the manager, who was coming on duty shortly. She assured me the manager would be in touch with me in the next day or two, Monday at the latest. I left my phone number and email address. It is now May 26 and I have had no feedback from the hotel
The cleanliness.
The breakfast, mainly sausage and egg packets. Beagle was and cream cheese was ok.
We were in Winston-Salem for personal business, spending one night at this hotel. We have stayed here previously at least twice before over the last few years. This was our 1st time bringing a dog. There is a one-time $75 pet fee, plus the tax on this fee (this tax is roughly double the regular sales tax in North Carolina; it was about $10, so the real cost of having a dog spend the night at this facility is about $85).
We had 2 rooms, one was a suite and the other room, which was the one which allowed dogs, was a regular room. The suite was nice. The hotel is fairly clean, but overall basically your standard Fairfield Inn. This swimming pool was closed until Memorial Day, so that was not available to us. There is a gym, but we did not use it.
Breakfast was fine, they had a selection of hot and cold foods. There was a pretty good selection of cold cereal, pre-packaged. There was also a nice assortment of fresh fruit.
The staff is helpful. There were a couple of issues where the front desk staff was fairly slow, but they were still polite and friendly.
Prices were high this time around, we attribute it to being graduation season in the Winston-Salem area (the hotel was supposedly fully booked for the night that we spent there).
Just to give you guys a brief update on how wonderful this Fairfield Inn is the general manager Jennifer, very professional, the whole front desk, staff professional the housekeepers the breakfast lady everything about this hotel is wonderful if I could give it 10 stars, I will give it 10 stars but this is a wonderful hotel. You don’t have to worry about bugs. You don’t have to worry about loudness. It’s a wonderful wonderful place.
Staff was amazing
The evening cookies were a surprise
Autumn checked us in and was thorough and went above and beyond in her hospitality and kindness. Really appreciated the warm welcome.
Checked in at 9p. Autumn was the front desk agent. She had a long day but was a rockstar with a friendly smile and terrific demeanor. Not too chatty, but just enough personal touch. Was the ideal experience (I've stayed at... A lot of hotels). Newer property. First impressions are fine in the lobby. Room is solid. Nothing of issue. Surprised a newer property doesn't have USB-C plugs but that's fine. Fitness Center was what I'd expect from a Fairfield. Location is solid for my needs and price was right. Very pleased overall.
Convenient
Do not recall any issues
Very Clean
Parking spaces were small
This is actually the first negative review I’ve ever posted, and notably our first bad experience at a Marriott-owned hotel. We have consistently had positive stays in the past, which is why this was especially disappointing. However, after being disregarded in person, over the phone, and now by email, I feel it’s important to share this experience.
We booked a room for five people based on the listing, but it only had two beds and no additional sleeping arrangements. When we raised this immediately upon entering the room, management’s response was dismissive and essentially shifted the responsibility back to us for booking the room, rather than addressing the issue.
Beyond that, the room was not properly cleaned (wrappers on the floor), and there were only enough towels for three guests. We brought these concerns up right away and followed up by phone, but nothing was done to resolve them.
The most disappointing part was not just the room—it was the lack of accountability and how our concerns were handled at every step.
As a frequent Marriott guest, I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to better communication and guest service moving forward.
The breakfast was good. The variety of food was sufficient. What I selected (eggs and oatmeal) was enjoyable. The server was very attentive to the patrons and the appearance of everything.
The only thing I don't like about the room is the smoke detector's flashing light. Why is that necessary? Some of the lights are so bright, they make getting to sleep difficult.
Breakfast was poor
Couldn't close curtains, light shining in window all night, breakfast was a quiche egg in cellophane.
Reme, the manager, is one of the best hotel managers I have ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble
Offered help with multiple questions
Personable!!
Will be sure to come back again and again.
