Zero Hospitality
Pros:

Had the worst experience at the Sonder. In fact, I was unable to check in so I never got to see the hotel. The worst part was the lack of hospitality from THREE people at the front desk - and none of them were occupied helping other guests. They made me call Priceline multiple times rather than them help or do their job. Isn’t that what they should be doing and are paid for? Clearly, there was no hospitality. I’m afraid they’ve lost a customer and any sense of reputation as I surely won’t be recommending this place.

Location is prime. Comfortable, clean room. OK for a 'beach' hotel.
Pros:

Location is absolutely amazing. All said, for the price-- I'd stay here again for the location alone. Beach access, coffee shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, etc. are all within blocks, if not next door. The staff, when there, were pleasant. The facility and rooms are a bit tired. It was a nice sized room, bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, etc. Wall AC unit was loud and could use a filter change. The room itself is that of an older hotel that has received a few coats of paint over the years. The Marriott pictures are definitely portraying a much 'fresher' perspective of the hotel than reality of the room I was in. The rooftop patio was great to take in a conference call and watch the ocean... The pool is small. Also, I wouldn't expect "resort-style" presence/service with towels set about each day as you see in the picture. When I was there (October) the hotel was minimally staffed with door codes to get into the building and room after hours (no staff after hours). Expect traffic noise depending on the side of the hotel you are staying... beach side is traffic side. Again- great location, clean, comfortable room. Just not a fancy 4-star as you may expect by how it's rated and the images shared by the hotel/chain.

Try booking direct, so you get a better hotel room.Because it seems I always get the worst one

The location was great, but the deck and pool area. We're in need of repair. The pool was green and closed off on Sunday. The furniture was worn out on the rooftop. Whenever we use booking.com. We always seem to get the worst room in the building. Somebody needs to look into that maybe a class action lawsuit or something because it's ridiculous. We should get a discount.Because the pool was not safe to swim in. Plus we kept getting conflicting messages. We were supposed to go on Thursday, but it said we were both Friday to Monday. We were supposed to be Thursday to Monday. We should be reimbursed for 1 day. I don't think I will use booking again.

A cold non-inviting room with barely the minimum of necessities.

Cons:

Extremely noisy with street noise and fellow guests. Room was practically barren with little to none in comforts! Definitely not comfortable and inviting and will never stay again!

When I arrived, there was no one to check us in. We had to wait for 20 minutes. Once they arrived, they were courteous yet very aloof. They then charged us $30 for parking which was not listed in the room reservation. There was a shortage of towels, as if only a single person was staying there, and there were two of us.
