I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to do so for this hotel. I so wanted to love this place after reading all the positive reviews. After days and days of staying in “budget inns”, I was looking forward to something a bit nicer, unique and boutique-y. Sadly, I was quite surprised upon entering our “suite”. First, the layout was “funky” with the beds being placed end-to-end rather than side-by-side. Not a problem in itself, just a bit weird. But the biggest surprise was how dated and dark the place was. It was like stepping into an old motel from the 1970s or 80s. To be fair, everything seemed to be clean for the most part, but the decor, carpet and room design were clearly old. Oh, and I can’t forget the spider on the bathroom wall that was there to greet us!! Another odd thing ….. I got locked out of the room when I went for morning coffee. Fortunately my roommate was in the room and able to let me back in. No idea how that happened, but it was like the interior deadbolt locked behind me when I left and my key would not open it. The saving grace of this place is definitely the included breakfast, which consisted of several homemade items and people actually cooking in frying pans in the kitchen! Now that’s something you don’t see at a hotel anymore! Also, Carter, the evening desk clerk was a delight! Still, if you don’t like dark and dated hotel rooms, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! I wanted to feel pampered here, but that just didn’t happen.
Great location for a conference on the Notre Dame campus. Everything else about the stay was standard but functional.

Elevator was broken. Had to carry luggage down stairs. Staff did not assist as stated on the call.
It was clean, comfortably and quiet and relaxing night.
Elevator was broke at the time. Noone notified me ahead of time. I was on third floor, not to bad only had a one night stay bag.
The vibe/atmosphere. Gives quaint, old collage feel. Proximity to NDU. Breakfast and refreshments in lobby. Staff.
The pillows. Our last stay, the pillows on 2 double beds were great. The ones on our king bed were not good. Too soft, no support.
Room was clean. Rates were good. Breakfast was great. Location was great, we had seminar at Holy Cross College.

The breakfast staff, morning desk lady, and the breakfast were all wonderful.
The evening staff, the hard beds, the missing gym weights, the lack of a bathroom on the gym floor, the grungy repairs in the bathrooms and lime scaling on the shower heads, and overall mustiness in the rooms and halls.
CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
Very close to the Uni of Notre Dame campus. They provide eggs to order, breakfast wrap and had really good salsa, and fruits, cookies, and water/hot water/coffee available 24/7 by the reception. The room we stayed was updated and spacious.
