I decided to spend my birthday in Sintra/Cascais and chose this as my hotel. It was a bit of a last minute choice, so I'm going to say that's the reason for some of my negatives.
First thing, the staff is TOP NOTCH. They greeted us with a smile and were extremely hospitable. I can't say enough good things about them. They even provided a nice welcome treat in the room of desserts, port and water.
The hotel itself as many mention is from "another time". It didn't all work for me. It is definitely "fancy" and the things like marble columns and elaborately carved wood decor helped the "palace" image. However, the analog thermostat, the phone in the bathroom and the small tv on top of the mini-fridge were negatives. The "king" bed was also stiff as a board and was composed of twin beds with separate bedding. My spouse and I felt like we were in a 50s tv show. I'm going to attribute this room to my last-minute reservation. I'd hope that the other rooms were much better. Looking around at the other guests, I'd say this hotel drew the "preppy" type.
Like many said, the breakfast was fantastic. It was even served on hotel china. You definitely don't see that every day. The spread was very extensive and there were options for every dietary need.
Overall, it was a mixed experience.
Everything. From start to end, the whole experience was amazing!!
NO
Great time as always at the Palacio! From an easy check-in to our room request being honored the stay go off to a great start, and continued of course! Our room was quite comfortable, the breakfast buffet was wonderful and of course the huge pool refreshing with the pool chairs quite comfortable! The staff at the Palacio always goes the extra mile. We have been to this great hotel four times over about ten years, and so happy to see familiar faces each time we return. including Jose ( from OHMSS fame) as concierge and Marta in the dining room for breakfast. We meet several individuals/families that return each year and we know why! My wife and I can't wait to return!!
Hotel charmoso e sofisticado.
We absolutely loved this hotel, it is stunning and so well looked after. It is spotlessly clean, the gardens are constantly maintained and the rooms are lovely. It is classy and traditional but still so sleek and nothing feels dated.
The staff are all so helpful, the concierge are fantastic and everyone is very friendly.
The pool area is wonderful, such a big pool and plenty of sun beds and parasols for all guests. The water is also not cold.
For breakfast there was plenty of choice and the food was great.
There is nothing I can fault about this hotel! The only minor thing I could say is the walls are a bit thin so you can hear other guests if they are loud - we did have an issue with the people in the room next door but the hotel did everything they could to sort this out for us, they offered to move our room and spoke to the guests so we could not ask for better service. The room was also a bit small but there was lots of storage space so it was fine.
I would highly recommend this hotel, we had a fabulous holiday.
From the moment we walked in, everything felt special—even the hotel smelled wonderful. Staying here felt a little like stepping back in time, to an era when hospitality truly meant something and exceptional service was simply the standard. The staff were gracious, attentive, and seemed genuinely proud of the hotel.
Breakfast was abundant and beautifully presented, with plenty of staff making sure every detail was taken care of. Nothing felt rushed or overlooked.
The hotel itself is a gorgeous example of traditional elegance. You can almost imagine the parties and celebrations that must have taken place here over the years. The details are wonderful—embroidered napkins, logoed china, beautiful furnishings—and the entire property has been impeccably maintained without losing its history or character.
There is something increasingly rare about a hotel like this. It has a sense of place, history, and gracious hospitality that you simply don't find very often anymore. A truly memorable stay. I want to live there!
Real palace experience. Breakfast was very good. the pool is super big and very pleasant. There is also a large grass area our son played in.
Staff are super helpful.
You really get the "travel in time" feeling that you only get in 100 so year old luxury hotels.
Location is amazing. being so close to the beach and with a great pool, with dinner options around and easy drive to either cascais or lisbon.
Drinks on the terrace for sunset with live music were great.
Room was comfortable, but the bathroom could use renovation. Once you add the baby bed, there is almost not a lot of space left in the room.
We know the hotel as repeat clients.
We love the obvious tradition, location and service
N.A.
We stayed here for 4 days. The rooms are comfortable but a little dated. Nice Molton Brown Products in bathroom. The walk in wardrobe was cute. We found it very expensive - 12 euro for a bottle of water. The breakfast was really lovely. Staff helpful. Pool was lovely but many children playing. The pool side food was really good. Would we come back? Probably not, but a lovely few days.
La vue l’emplacement
La decoración . La elegancia . Las habitaciones . El personal
En el restaurante la atención no fue muy buena . No había coordinación. Esperamos mucho para que nos trajeran la comida
Breakfast and buffet lunch were very good. Pool area and drinks/food offerings were also good. Given how busy the pool area was, the staff needs to stop sun lounger blocking!
In the room, the air conditioning unit was blowing cold air directly onto the bed, I would prefer it to aim away fro mthe bed!
Friendly staff, great service and food
They didn’t provide a reserved beach lounging area
