Room is quite reasonable for this type of hotel
Staff are helpful when requirered
Fire Alarm trigerred several times on our 2nd night, took time to reset
However, staff took action as required and were quite polite
Great escape close to home. Sutton has a village feel with all you could need & the public transport options are excellent. The Marine is very comfortable, with a coffee machine in the room as a bonus & has excellent facilities for health & leisure including a pool & great sea views at the back. It is a place that you feel relaxed after staying & I wish I had longer. It was great value & I will be back.
It was perfect as we were attending a funeral near by. The gathering afterwards was at the hotel and we were made so welcome and nothing was to much trouble.
Clean and comfortable, sea view from room . Pool not too busy. Hotel convenient to Dart.

Friendly Staff
We stayed for one night we had planned on staying for another night but we changed our minds.
Our room was lovely but we paid 30e extra for a sea view ! Instead we got the back of the hotel looking out onto flat roofs and ugly buildings and a tiny bit of the sea we could see 🙈
Dinner that evening was awful!!
I ordered steak and all I'll say there was a lot to be desired. Went to the bar and asked for a cocktail and I was told there was no one around to make cocktails !! I've never came across that before in a hotel.
Location
Overpriced bad sandwiches! Waited 30 mins for coffee. Sticky brown tables. Terrible and expensive! Never again………..
The staff went above and beyond for me and my son
The pool
Nice traditional style hotel
The heat was a bit intense in the room and the radiator was an old 1980s model so took a while to cool down
We really enjoyed our stay here. Though the decor was a little tired, that was not a problem. We had rooms that were not sold on having a sea view but still at the back with a view over the garden and bay. Had it not been November the grounds and access to the shore would have been a huge bonus, as it was we just made a quick visit.
The restaurant (generally, see below) was excellent, and it was great to have something on site after long days sightseeing. The bar was nice and the Guinness good! Good value for money as well, compared with central Dublin options, and the travel in and out by train was easy (though beware trains are way less frequent on a Sunday).
The main grumble would be the food on Sunday evening. They obviously major on Sunday lunch and in the evening the chef was off and the options were limited to what was left over. Some of the items didn’t fare well on reheating and they had run out of vegetarian options, you would expect such a large hotel to have something veggie in the freezer at all times. As we said the other 2 evenings the food was great.
Sound proofing between rooms was lacking and we had a neighbour who one night was on the phone loudly until 2am.
We just held our 3 day Global conference for Four12 at this fabulous hotel in January 2026. The location was perfect as we needed a hotel close to the airport for our international delegates. They could go on lovely walks close by and there was little shops in Sutton to browse in. This was the first time we have hosted the conference in Ireland. Our guests were overjoyed at the hotel. The bedrooms were fabulous , especially the Sea view ones. The booking and planning was handled by Veronica and she organised everything so well for us and made the event run so effortlessly.
The price was excellent compared to other hotel quotes.
The service from all the staff was also excellent and they were so attentive to our guests. The conference room was beautiful and the two rooms where we had dinner were recently refurbished and the decor and room presentation was beautiful.
The food service was so well organised for all our meals. This venue is perfect for guests to enjoy a break away or to hold a conference. It was a real treat for our guests and we are so happy that we held our event in the Marine Hotel. Looking forward to coming back again sometime.
