Clean well taken care of and friendly

Questionable hotel due to cleanliness. I understand pet friendly hotels are needed but the room below us had 4 Great Danes staying in the room for an extended period of time so the smell was wafting up to our room. The window didn’t have a screen so opening the window to air out the room just caused flies and bugs to come inside. The owner of the dogs did not pick up dog waste outside. The walls had stains all over inside the room and in the hallway and so did many of the towels. The hallway carpets looked to never be vacuumed. Only stayed in the hotel because we HAD to for a family function but next time I’d rather stay at a hotel farther away and make the commute.

Worked great as a place to stay for the family. We stayed in a 3-bed room, which is uncommon but appreciated by my larger family. The WiFi worked great and the kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was standard fare and the danishes seemed a bit stale, but overall we were happy and would stay there again.

I refrain from using choice words and unwanted adjectives ..I will tell you the experience was completely different. We asked for pool towels he wrote down our room number as would steal them. Owner also mentioned my grandchildren and questioned is if they were even mine.! I also feel WHEN our bathroom got locked FROM OUR GRANDKIDS.. this should be a free lock for adults to get to.. so we call maintenance and the owner comes up and says what happened here. I reply the door is locked. As I thought that was pretty obvious he huffed and puffed and I replied you just don't want us here. without anything left sudden he rolls his eyes and walked out the door and slammed it

There was no hot water, the bathroom was dirty, the tub was dirty, there was dirt on the walls, the pillows were old and stained, the towels were old and one was torn. There was a large broken down air conditioner in the hallway outside of the rooms. You have to lug your bag up the stairs, no elevator. There was very sketchy activity going on on the Saturday night that I was there. You can hear directly through the wall if people are talking in the next room.

Taking a shower eater started off hot then with in 2 minutes it started cooling off & was barely Luke warm to take a shower. I had goose bumps showering & I was freezing. The shower my mom took was the same way. She asked me when I got out if I had hot water. Room #112

I was traveling in from out of town for a funeral and when looking online, this seemed to be the best option. I do recommend getting a hotel from a neighboring city/town before booking here, truly. Parking is on the smaller end, but close to the entrance. The location was okay, there’s nearby gas stations and stores. The gentleman running the desk was polite. As for the hotel itself, it’s MUCH nicer online than in person. Upon climbing the steps to the second floor, there was a large AC unit laying on the floor from the time of my arrival (6pm) and it was there after I checked out (8:30am) - which isn’t a huge deal, but with the issues I had, it adds to the list of showing the upkeep of this hotel. Upon entering my room, there was dirt tracked on the carpet throughout the space. The shower head has not been cleaned and has a great deal of build up on it, and if you enjoy a hot shower - you’ll be disappointed. Personally, I don’t like hot showers, but I found myself turning it as far to the hot side as possible and still finding it a bit cold. The top of the door frame has some residue on it and before you suggest rust, it was not - it was a sticky substance that did wipe off when I rubbed a napkin along a small part of it. My sink was not properly cleaned and had damage to it. Plus, a plethora of other things. My room was genuinely dirty - like someone got food on the walls and door frames and it was not cleaned off. My pillows were stained and smelt - which led to me being uncomfortable with sleeping in the bed. Anywhere I looked, there was something to notice. I truly don’t expect above and beyond when getting a hotel, they’re not brand new and I keep in mind THOUSANDS of people have stayed in the room I’m in. I usually book a Holiday Inn and have never had any issues. But everything from the dirty walls and floors, the dirty pillows, the bathroom being a wreck - this was genuinely the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The room next to me was a family with children and one of the children would knock at my door then run to hide, which the father and mother made no effort to correct and on his second time doing so for that morning, they only told him to “Hurry up” so they could “go to breakfast”. I would say their behavior is a reflection of what kind of people stay at this hotel.

Friendly staff and good service with a fair price.

Great place to stay in Streator. Hot coffee, breakfast, pool, and good location. Janice was so helpful. I would definitely stay again while visiting Streator.

My only complaint was the cold showers, the water just wouldn't get warm!

The bed was comfortable but room very disappointing. The room needs painting desperately stains all over walls, mold or dirt on ceiling and towels are stained and carpet needed good vaccuming. We won’t be returning unless improvements made. We will drive the 15 minutes to stay in Ottawa.

Clearly Wyndham senior management has not been to this property in quite some time. In need of a lot of painting, besides the painting done to cover up mold, etc.

A new computer system was installed the day before which staff did not know how to use. Big delays in the lobby area.

Our suite room had an AC unit that was not suitable for that size of room. Bathtub was not clean.

The swimming pool was a plus as it smelled of fresh chlorine.

The breakfast nook had signs all over saying to not take food back to the rooms to eat. I don't know where people are supposed to eat when my family of six would take up most of the table space allowed.

I was very disappointed with the ac issue and the pool didn’t seem as clean as most places we’ve stayed at.

We were here a year ago and it was totally fine. In fact, we were happy to have an option in Streator while visiting family!! Unfortunately, it's gone downhill since then. Our first room had black mold growing in the bathroom, which is (especially) unacceptable when we have a new baby with lung issues. The staff was accommodating though and moved us to a new room. There was a bit of mold in the new room, but much better. We kept the bathroom door shut and did not shower for fear of spraying spores. We knew that this wouldn't be the Ritz, but it's not safe.

Good value and location

The AmericInn by Wyndham Streator is a great place to stay. Mike the GM is exceptional and made our stay beyond our expectations. The rooms were clean, coffee was always ready, and the breakfast was great. We always stay at the AmericInn by Wyndham Streator when we visit our family.

Nice people, motel a mess, breakfast below average

Heat was turned off in our room when we got there so very cold to start off with. There was no hot water for showers. Pool was dirty
