Pros:

Amazing hotel resort with an incredible restaurant, very welcoming staff and all kinds of facilities to use. A great getaway that makes you feel so far away from the city, so peaceful and serene. Each of the rooms is in its own treetop cabin

Pros:

Traumhafte Lage, wunderschöne Chalets im Wald. Sehr freundliches Personal, gutes Restaurant. Nur 5 Minuten vom Strand entfernt, beheizter Pool un Tennisplatz.
Wir hatten nur 2 Nächte und wären gerne länger geblieben.

ちょっと贅沢な現実から離れた時間を過ごせます
Pros:

コロマンデルあたりの海を車で巡るのにいい立地でした。
ご飯はブッフェ形式でした。種類は多くありませんが、美味しかったです。
お部屋は綺麗で私の泊まった部屋は2人部屋が、隣り合っていました。家族4人で両方の部屋を使ったので、他の人の部屋からは距離もあり、他の人のことを気にせずに過ごせました。レストランなど他の設備から部屋に行くには外に出ないといけないですが、スタッフに言えば送迎もしてもらえます。

一番よかったのは日本語を話せるスタッフさんがいて、近くのおすすめビーチを教えてもらえたのがとてもよかったです。（教えてもらったビーチは最高に綺麗でした）

Cons:

近くに飲食店はあまりなさそうでした。
ちょっと扉の開け閉めの音とかが大きく部屋に響いたのが気になりました。

Pros:

Amazing facilities and such a unique hotel. We loved it. Room was perfect and balcony amongst the trees was so nice.

Cons:

It is on a steep hill but they have golf carts to help transport guests up. Not a negative just an fyi.

Great position in The forest
Pros:

The cabins are in a great position in the forest. They are kept to a good standard. Were clean and well presented.

Sadly the food was not great and could be so much better in a place with such a lovely location and lodges.

The Sunday buffet is particularly poor. The à la carte weekday menu is better. There are some good eateries down in Pauanui.

Breakfast is mediocre. The little frankfurter type sausages à particular low point!

The pool is nice and not busy, also the free laundry facilities à big plus.

The staff were friendly but did not seem too knowledgable about the area.

Exceptional Staff
Pros:

We have stayed at Puka park at Pauanui many times and love it. On this trip we met many new staff they could not be faulted. From the front desk Heather, Lauren,Said, and Stef they were fantastic could not do enough for us and a special mention for the maintence Manger Grant who is obviously well respected by all other staff helped me get my foldable electric in the boot of my car way outside his job description also made sure I got back to my room on top of the hill.You will read reviews of the hill go and see the front office staff for a lift in the golf cart and they seem love getting out of the office to get in the beautiful fresh air of the rain forest. No one every moaned about having to take exactly the opposite. Thank you Puka Staff see you Anzac weekend.

Tasty but far too small portions sizes
Pros:

Room was lovely, bed was nicely firm and cushy bath robe provided.

We ate in the restaurant which had been highly recommended. My lamb was tasty and a smallish portion, while my husband’s venison was a very small portion. The sauces were very skimpy in volume. Too small. The portion sizes of the accompanying veggies/ potatoes was very stingy. We tried dessert which was lovely, but again was way too stingy a portion, especially for 25$NZ. We left hungry. Would not recommend dining here.

Pros:

Wir waren positiv überrascht das jeder Gast sein eigenen kleinen Bungalow hatte. Es waren große Zimmer.
Wir haben uns Fahrräder vom Hotel ausgeliehen um die Gegend ein wenig zu erkunden.
Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend vorhanden.

Cons:

Der Kaffee aus dem Automaten ging überhaupt nicht. Haben uns am nächsten Tag einen Cappuccino beim Personal bestellt. Der war in Ordnung-- diesen musste man selbst zahlen.

Pros:

The location is fabulous, however, the steps to the room gets old. A lot of up and down. I was in room 14. I suggest getting the rooms on the lower side of drive. The setting in the woods was excellant.

Cons:

Steps. As I age, I dislike exterior steps to the rooms. There were 20 or more and getting to everything required more steps.

Beautiful but dissapointing stay.
Pros:

Beautiful scenery and a nice pool and tennis court. Lovely cabins.

Cons:

Had a 5 course dinner at the restaurant and only one course was good. Staff rather confused and disorganised (although nice) during most service. Had to review all charges and correct.
