Selected this property based off other Tripadvisor reviews. The property itself is beautiful, however, the customer service in the main lobby area was disappointing. We booked this trip months in advance and selected a specific room that we wanted. When we arrived to the property to check in the room was not available as they said they had overbooked. They told us they provided us with an upgrade of an ocean front room, which for most people would be more than acceptable. However, this is not the room that we wanted and I explained that to them. Unfortunetly we were told there was nothing that they could do. I am not one that typically complains however, this was very disappointing to me. I had asked to have the manager call me when they were back on property the following day. No one ever called me so I went back to the main lobby and asked to speak with them. I was again told there was nothing they could do.
I again expressed my frustration, they told me that the room that I booked would be available the following day for the rest of my stay, but in order to move rooms, I would have to wait for the room to be cleaned and then pack up my stuff and move it. Again, this may not seem like a big deal to some people, however, that would’ve had to have all taken place in the middle of the day and we had planned to visit one of the offsite beaches. When you are on a limited timeframe for vacation overall this is not ideal. Finally, after some back-and-forth with the manager, they paid for the dinner that we had on property as compensation. While we were grateful for this, I just didn’t think it should have to be so difficult and that is why I was disappointed with the overall experience with the lobby staff. The property was very well kept, we loved the pool and bar area as well as access to the two separate beaches. I probably would have given this five stars if not for the disappointing interactions with the staff.
Lovely hotel in the perfect location. Rooms were lovely including a fully stocked kitchenette which was handy for low key breakfasts. How lovely to have plenty of sunbeds available throughout the property (including plenty of shade), restaurant serving delicious food, the beaches and pool area are just perfect too. And most of all, such a peaceful, quiet hotel - no loud music pumping out half the day! Was a fabulous week and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. We'll definitely go back one day!
The only down side is you need a car if you want to explore further afield - just trying to get to a decently stocked supermarket means a taxi ride if you have no car. But, that's a very small point - we had a wonderful stay.
This is our third stay at Grand Case Beach Club and it was better than the past two visits. Since our last visit over five years ago, the rooms have been renovated and the upper deck where the pool is located has been totally redone. The addition of the Moonrise restaurant is fabulous as well as the sitting areas around the pool. Every evening, we enjoyed watching the sun set with a glass of wine. Lovely!
I’d also like to mention the server at the Moonrise restaurant, Joanna, who was kind, attentive and professional. She was also very patient with our teenage daughter who was practicing her French.
We stayed in a one-bedroom suite which was two floors and very spacious. It included a king-sized bed on the top floor and pull-out sofa on the bottom floor with full bathrooms on each floor.
The beaches on both sides were lovely as always with mainly calm water protected by the cove. We often had breakfast and sometimes dinner at the Sunset Cafe which has consistently good service and food. We also ventured into town to the many restaurants Grand Case has to offer. The location can’t be beat and we really enjoyed the relaxing vibe of GCBC, good service and lovely accommodations.
Finally, I was also pleased at the lack of mosquitoes which may have been attributed to a light constant breeze. I’m a mosquito magnet so when I’m on a tropical vacation, I’m prone to getting attacked. This was not the case at all at GCBC.
La proximité de la plage.
Le manque d’intimité dans la chambre (les personnes se baladent directement devant la fenêtre et la terrasse). Faut tirer le rideau pour ne pas être vue.
This is an absolutely wonderful place! The situation of being so beautifully placed on two beaches and then being able to walk into town to someone of the best food in the world is priceless. They are extremely nice workers here especially housekeeping, grounds keepers and office people. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star is that the beach service situation. They do not offer service for hotel guests on the grand case beach side nor umbrellas on the grand case side. They favor the day trippers which take over Petite Plage and you can feel this palpably. Also, the Service at Sunset cafe is not good (except if you get there first thing for breakfast-then it's very good) For a lunch take out order we waited up to an hour and no suggestion was made to us to stay on the beach and someone could bring us our food. It was our first day so we didn't think that was an option..and might not have been. This all being sad, I would go back again in a hear beat and just understand some of the in-and outs.
Location is great! Beautiful property and beach.
I would like a bathrobe in the room
That it had a restaurant and beautiful walk way on the beach
That people could walk by our room and look in (first floor)
Spend the day on the beach and is one of the better beaches on the Island. Lucas was our server and he did and excellent job. Would recommend rent chairs and the umbrellas as price is reasonable.
Fantastic resort, very clean, friendly staff, great beach and service. Everything you need all in one location.
I really wish this was a no smoking property. A smoker has set up right in front of our porch and now I can't even sit outside and enjoy my coffee. It will also force me to find some other place to hang out for the day. With so many families and children here I can't imagine why GCBC thinks this is cool. UGH. And guess what? Not all French people enjoy second hand smoke!
Fabulous breakfast at Sunset Cafe!! Fresh squeezed OJ. Omelet with Emmenthal cheese & Ham was wonderful as were my poached eggs with cherry tomatoes and arugula! Wonderful view and excellent service. We stayed more in town but walked here easily for breakfast.
Paradise lost. We just finished our fifth visit, and we are not going back. Last year, the NY Times ran a review, describing it as "family friendly." It has worked: For the two weeks we were there, there were children running around, throwing sand at each other, beating each other up, screaming their heads off, often supervised by grandmothers who indulged them. Nearly all of them Americans. The tranquility of previous years was gone. The presence of Europeans has fallen off. (We loved Grand Case in part because we got to hang out with people from other cultures) I can't blame the owners--now that they've been "discovered" they're raking it in: booked solid into 2027.
We recently returned from another wonderful stay at the Grand Case Beach Club. This is our third stay in the past few years. The rooms are lovely and well equipped. The views are absolutely spectacular! The beach is quiet and beautiful with calm water for swimming. There is a shuttle that will transport you to/from the restaurants in the center of town each night which is so convenient, although it is less than a 10 minute walk should you choose. The recently renovated pool area is really beautiful with a lovely bar with stunning views. We LOVE this hotel and the amazing service provided. Special thanks to Lynn, hotel manager who ensures top notch customer service is always a priority! We can't wait to return next year! Thanks again for having us!
Everyone was friendly and willing to help. The rooms are beautiful and great views. I love walking around this beautiful resort.
Nice room.
Beach was beautiful.
The people were welcoming and helpful.
Food and drink were very expensive.
Shuttle was $4 per person each way so $16 for a couple if you use it for dinner.
Security seemed good.
The place is fabulous. Great location, service, beach access, terrific pool and bar area, and wonderful rooms. The staff is great, you can walk to Grand Case or take the shuttle, and the views are superb. For those who don't know St. Martin, Grand Case is the culinary capital of the Caribbean. Go.
Nine of us stayed for 4 nights at this lovely hotel. Spacious rooms. Really attentive concierge. Plenty of loungers on either beach. Easy walk into Grand Case town. The restaurant on premises serves lovely food. Would recommend.
I can’t imagine staying any other place than the Beach Club on any return to Saint Martin. I have previously visited a lovely hotel on the Dutch side and also in the town of Grand Case. However, here you can enjoy tranquility, great beauty, warm, wonderfully accommodating staff, and excellent food. Even Christine, who was so immensely responsive to the numerous changes I had to make in order to get here set the tone on the phone and through email for the friendly, competent behind the desk staff I enjoyed while I was here. This was matched every bit as much by the bar and restaurant waitstaff who were really enjoyable to interact with.
It’s important to have a car on Saint Martin because there is much to see but the location of the Beach Club is very quiet and peaceful, yet just a 10 minute walk into town to sample the wonderful French restaurants and Lolos. Still, I was also impressed by the gourmet meals I enjoyed here at this resort.
The swimming pool is also gorgeous with an amazing panorama of stunning views of the beaches, ocean and a great place to enjoy each evening sunset. The groundskeepers do a terrific job of keeping up the beauty and cleanliness all around you here. The house cleaning staff are also friendly and make sure that everything is perfect in each lovely room offered to guests. I sampled two of the rooms and was very happy with each.
The Grand Case Beach club is truly an incredible place of excellent value for the experience that you have here . There’s nothing about this resort not to like and there’s much to love.
