Location to local shops
Lobby was hot, breakfast was ok could be better. Really needs a facelift. Cable TV was weird
Location was great. Right off interstate
Pool was slightly green and freezing, carpet in room smelled, front desk had no bath cloths, blankets, or pillows. Bathroom fixtures were not clean. Toiled had mildew stains. However we were not in the room except to sleep so it wasn’t that important
worst holiday inn Hotel I have ever stayed at. every was either broken or leaning. Room was still dirty
The location was near other stores and in the vacinity of the harbor center that we were attending.
The water never got hot, of the 3 rooms we booked 2 of them smelt of weed. The hallways are very loud. One of rooms had a faulty smoke detector-this was fixed. Mini fridge was slow to get cold
The room was comfortable and the staff was helpful
There was something left on the floor under the table and the staff had to come to my room and help with the shower because I had a hard time turning it on
Very nice staff, always offering to help.
Doing the little extra to make your stay enjoyable. Very clean rooms, nice TVs. Lillie always greets with warm friendly greeting. She and coworkers always do extra prep on breakfast setup, its GREAT.
Been here month, hate to leave, not many hotels that are Nice & Friendly.
Good location, near food and shopping. The room did have a very old smell but was clean.
Staff were friendly.
This is the grubbiest, dirtiest run down Holiday inn I have ever stayed at. I stayed four nights, the room was not serviced once. The common parts were never cleaned and I never heard a vacuum cleaner in the place. The staff are jolly enough, but I feel sorry for them having to work in this dump. The breakfast room is like a dungeon.
Did not eat
Everything! We have never seen a holiday in
In bad shape!! And this one was under construction the material was laying all over the place. The floor we was on was dirty and dusty. They meeting clean the place up. The luggage carts would not roll…..made getting our luggage to our room difficult!!!
The room had an odor. Couldn’t find anything decent to watch on the television. The temperature in the room was uncomfortable. I attempted to contact someone at the office concerning my $50 fee. When I did get someone on the phone I was told they would call me back I’m still waiting for the call.
Location and easy accessibility
The hotel didn't provide water.
Right of interstate
Dirty. Extremely dirty. I left
I'm writing this as a warning to others considering this hotel. My son and I stayed here for two nights over New Year's to attend the Sugar Bowl, and we encountered problems from check-in through checkout that made this one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.
Check-in Problems: We're clearly two adults, but received only one room key. When I asked for a second key, the desk clerk said they were short on keys and only provided one after I insisted we'd have different schedules.
You Can't Access Your Room from Parking: This is a serious inconvenience. The end entrance doors near parking don't work with your room key. You can exit through them, but you cannot re-enter. Every single time you return to the hotel, you must walk all the way around to the main lobby entrance, no matter where you parked or where your room is located.
Room Condition Was Poor (2nd Floor): The desk lamp outlet was dead, so you can't charge your phone anywhere useful. There's a USB panel by the closet, but that's nowhere near the bed or desk. The bathroom door doesn't fit the frame and won't close all the way. We found a dirty washcloth left in the shower from a previous guest. The lounge chair was missing its back cushion.
Breakfast Was Unacceptable: I paid extra for breakfast. Big mistake. The pancake maker wasn't even turned on. The juice dispenser was covered in fruit flies and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. There were zero forks available. I had to go to the front desk where a maintenance worker dug through the kitchen to find a partial box, gave me ONE fork, and tried to put the rest back. I had to tell him other guests eating breakfast would probably want forks too before he'd refill the container. The scrambled eggs were mostly brown. They make coffee at 4:30 AM and 7:00 AM, period. If it runs out, you're out of luck. The counter outlets and USB ports don't work. The whole breakfast area looks dirty and is clearly not maintained regularly.
No Housekeeping After First Night: We left around 10 AM on our first full day for the Sugar Bowl game. When we returned that evening, our room had not been cleaned at all. I went to the front desk to ask for fresh towels. They only had washcloths and bath towels available, no hand towels. When I mentioned our room hadn't been serviced, the desk attendant accused me of leaving the Do Not Disturb sign out. I did not.
Staff Attitude: Everyone was polite on the surface but clearly indifferent to actually helping guests or solving problems.
Bottom Line: Yes, this property is cheaper than staying in New Orleans ($157 per night versus $400 or more downtown). You're looking at a 30 minute drive on I-10 to the Superdome. The beds were actually comfortable and we slept fine. The laundry facilities looked clean. But the combination of maintenance issues, filthy breakfast area, non-functioning amenities, and lack of basic housekeeping makes this hotel impossible to recommend. If you're loyal to IHG brands, the nearby Holiday Inn Express is likely a better option. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
