HORRIBLE. DON’T COME HERE.
Pros:

We literally just arrived here on a school trip and it was a complete mess from the start. The staff even told us they forgot we were coming, which honestly explains a lot.

First we went upstairs to get to our rooms and there was dog diarrhea all over the hallway floor. Multiple people stepped in it before anyone even realized what it was. When we told the staff, they were laughing and it took them a while to actually come clean it and help us. We were just standing there waiting while it was still on the floor.

Then we finally got into the rooms and it was really chaotic. Nothing was ready in the rooms. Furniture was on top of the beds, the rooms clearly weren’t cleaned, and there were flies and other bugs everywhere. Like a lot of them, not just one or two. Some people even had bugs in their beds. The towels in some rooms literally had poop on them which is honestly disgusting.

After that we went back downstairs and there was a big dog running around barking at people and bothering everyone. It kept coming up to us and it made some people feel really uncomfortable.

By that point people were really stressed and upset. Some people were literally crying because everything felt so chaotic. We had just traveled all day and nothing was ready. Since they forgot we were coming there also wasn’t any food prepared or anything organized for our group. People were also worried about their bags getting stolen because everything just felt really disorganized.

Overall it was a really bad first experience and the hotel clearly was not ready for guests at all. I would not stay here again.

Wonderful visit to Naples
Pros:

Lovely location if a little out of town, but very peaceful compared to the city! Views or the bay and Vesuvius amazing. The hotel's atmosphere was very calm and peaceful, we felt very comfortable and at home. Our room was a good size, extremely clean, very comfortable king size bed with lovely linen. We did pay for a "room with a view", which in fairness we got, but another floor higher would have been better. If you're really fussy it would be worth clarifying room at booking. The breakfast offer was amazing, beautiful fresh local produce, hot and cold foods, and amazing pastries. Of course the coffee is to die for! We also dined in the restaurant and had a lovely meal and had drinks from the bar. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, great service, helpful and friendly staff. Great value for money. We had a 5 star experience and would definitely return. Grazie mille Hotel Paradiso.
Naples as a city is pretty full on, even as Londoners it seemed manic to us - but in a lovely way. We did a fair amount of walking around and never felt threatened or uncomfortable as you'd expect from such a large city. We used public transport a lot which was fine and very reasonable. Our 2 evening restaurant experiences were great, food amazing and very reasonable. Only downside one restaurant wanted us to do the whole pasta course, primo and secondo courses, so made it a tad difficult but we had a lovely meal in the end. Pompei is a must to visit as are the Catacombs. We were only there for 3 days so didn't get to visit many other places, so will definitely return.
