Meliá Koh Samui

Had an absolutely great time at the Melia Koh Samui resort after a long week working in Bangkok and finally got to relax with my family who joined me from the UK for a 10 day holiday.
Special mention to the lovely and very kind Baw at the beach bar and restaurant, who looked after us every day, making sure that we were attending for and giving us the extra service level that you would expect from a 5* hotel but not often get by someone so genuine and happy to help.
When we return to Koh Samui, we will certainly come back to the Melia thanks to his attention and friendly yet discreet service.

Piscina molto bella, spiaggia organizzata di fronte l’hotel, posizione ottima per godere sia della piscina che della spiaggia. Il The Level Area molto pratico e accogliente per una colazione in più tranquillità, aria condizionata e vista! Ottima la possibilità di poter usufruire di snack bevande e aperitivo. Struttura con moltissimo spazio verde e acqua grazie alla presenza della seconda piscina con accesso diretto alla camera.

The Melia sits right on Choeng Mon beach, with loads of bars, restaurants, massage parlours and laundry places both on the beach and on the main road at the entrance of the hotel. Despite being decently full (based on breakfast numbers), the hotel does not feel full the rest of the day as it is likely most guests have gone offsite to visit places or to eat out. It is easy to get sun beds, classes are not always full. We travelled as a family of 6, including a granpa of 70 walking with a cane, a 14yo, 10 and 7yo. Check in was a breeze, we got a level pool access room and a normal deluxe initially. We enquired about an upgrade for the deluxe room and the possibility of connecting rooms (at extra cost). There were not any on check in but the next day was possible! The level access gives you access to the level lounge, which gave everyone in our group access to drinks and snacks pretty much all day, with free alcoholic drinks and nibbles in the evening from 5:30-7:30. Snacks included both savoury and sweet desserts, like fried potato balls, spring rolls, summer rolls and creme brulee, coconut jelly, pandan dessert mango gummy etc. Drinks during the day include soft drinks, juice, smoothies, coffee and tea. Matteo from Spain did a wonderful job welcoming us everyday at the level lounge.
The two ladies at the kids club were lovely to the kids who only spent a morning there and they joined a muay Thai class for kids which the boys thoroughly enjoyed.
My wife and daughter joined a towel folding class led by Mui and Pia, and they enjoyed the different animals that are commonly used to fold towels at different hotels in Koh Samui. I joined a yoga class led by Mui which was well attended and Mui gave clear good instructions which pushed all the guests out of their respective comfort zones in a good controlled way!
Housekeeping and facilities were always around and ready to help. Our safe wasn't working properly but someone was dispatched right away and after fiddling with it for a while, came back to swap out the safe completely. The beds were done everyday and we had welcome and we will miss you messages on the bed on the first and last days, with some little goodies like fruits, fruit candy and a nice mango sticky rice dessert.
The ladies at reception were always very helpful and all the staff on the resort were super polite and the wai and sawadee/khobkhun kah were a constant.
Special mention to Runi from guest relations who was always around to suggest little things such as ordering a golf cart for granpa to and from different parts of the hotel to alleviate the pain of walking everywhere.
Everyday there is some entertainment at 7:30pm, normally by the beach, e.g fire show, Thai dance, etc
The kids enjoyed the pool right outside our room patio, which connects all the way to the main pool eventually. They also enjoyed the table tennis and the free to use kayaks. There were also paddle boards but we only used the kayaks.
Overall not as crazy active like a club med or similar all inclusive in Turkey/Majorca etc but as a lot of activities were outside the resort within walking distance, (or they pick you up for tours) it's a different vibe to the typical all inclusive.
Oh yeah Choeng Mon beach is great, not too small but not huge either. Beautiful sand, good sheltered cove with coral/rocks that give rise to a shallow sand bar which allows walking to the nearby tiny island at low tide.

The hotel blends luxury and comfort but maintains a family friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The pool, which winds around the grounds is great and the main pool overlooking the beach is lovely and well maintained and rarely feels crowded.

Due to the beachfront location we were able to dine each evening on the beach at different restaurants and found Pi samui the perfect location for a special meal.

Would highly recommend the swim up rooms and upgrading to “the level” which allows you to enjoy breakfast in a separate dining room overlooking the beach and to enjoy drinks and snacks throughout the day as part of the upgrade fee.

The staff were all very pleasant and kind, especially pink in the level lounge.

The grounds of the hotel are immaculately maintained and the rooms were well appointed and comfortable.

A relaxing and energizing experience, with a great atmosphere and an excellent instructor.

We had an amazing 7-night stay at Melia Koh Samui and absolutely loved it!

The hotel is a beautiful resort, designed with great attention to detail, with a wonderful lagoon-style pool that surrounds the hotel. We stayed in The Level Suite, which was absolutely beautiful, very clean, comfortable, and pleasant.

The hotel staff were lovely, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of food and plenty of choices every morning.

The beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet, and the main pool is also lovely and so much fun to spend time in.

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is in a very quiet and relaxing area, which was perfect for us, but it was still very easy to get around the island. You can use the local red shared taxis, Grab, or the hotel shuttle to reach other areas of Koh Samui.

We stayed for 7 nights, and we were honestly sad when it was time to leave. We had such a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Melia Koh Samui. We will definitely come back again!

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. 😊

I would especially like to compliment Pony, one of the staff members. She was very friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. ❤️

La struttura è divina profumata ordinata in un bel punto di mare. Personale sorridente accogliente gentile cortese. Le stanze sono splendide e soprattutto sono profumate. La pulizia è un tratto distintivo. La sala della colazione è un trionfo di cibi dal mondo. Il ristorante sulla spiaggia propone piatti sempre freschi, io ho mangiato anche cibo crudo ed era perfetto.
È’ una struttura super consigliata per me
