Howard Johnson Hotel & Conference Center by Wyndham Salem

Toilets wouldnt flush.

Unfortunately this hotel was not clean. There was hair in the bathroom sink, the sheets were not clean, and the overall condition of the room was poor. The door did not latch properly without considerable effort.

Old taco bell under the bed with food still inside. Beer bottle caps and trash under the dressers.couch had animal bite marks and torn fabric down the side. No coffee maker like listed in the photo. Only 1 room key was available they didnt have enough keys to give 2. Curtains had tears so they had to be moved for proper privacy and there was an active wasp nest 6+ in the stairway to our room. Breakfast was subpar toast with no butter or jelly coffee with no creamer and no lids.

It was a quick place to say and rest while in transit. Could use a little remodeling.

We did not stay for breakfast We just wanted to leave. The TV was not working, there were two double beds and only 3 pillows, and the room felt dirty.

Room was ok. No shampoo provided. Just conditioner. No ice machines working. Free breakfast was almost non existent. No ice, cereal, juice . Asked for a 2nd key at check in and his machine didnt work so he said i only needed 1.

Nasty

If the owner doesn’t want to keep the property, better to get rid of it.

Rooms: noisy, no shampoo/conditioner and not too clean too.

There was hardly any breakfast though it was claimed that way. Coffee with no sugar and cream and some other frozen items. There was not a single staff either in the dining area nor the front desk.

I'm sure this place was nice in it's prime, the location is beautiful, but the property is worn down now and needs a remodel, everything was done in the cheapest way possible from the 2-ply toilet paper, to the pipes squeaking the whole time the water came out in the shower, to the TVs only having a few channels with extreme static, to advertizing free breakfast only to go down there and there was none. Nor was there an attendant at the desk to ask about it. It was fine to crash for a night, but def should be in the price range of a motel 6 or super 8 bc the quality just wasnt there. Granted, we only paid $109 but it was more of a $50-60 experience.

My room was filthy

It was a ok hotel. I have stayed at other Wyndham hotels. This one was just ok

okay so they have joined room 124/122 these room the locks don’t work(lock) tired to explain to staff that night then asked staff to fix it they did but i asked the staff if he was trying to

The view from the room is incredible, room was clean, but we had three grandkids with us, and the tv had 3 PBS channels, im sure I could’ve went to the office to find out why, but it was 2:00 am, and I was too tired for the hassle, bathroom has a very small toilet and needs painting, it’s peeling all over, was convenient on and off the highway, and the price was right for a few hours of sleep on a long drive,,

Got bug bites (still hoping it wasn’t bed bugs), the bathroom door was hanging on by one hinge, the little fridge needed cleaned (there was an old ice pack in there), the continental breakfast was hardly there & we had to call the front desk clerk to check in, plus we had to drop our key card in a box on the desk. No one was in there again.
We did see a big wasp nest outside of neighboring room.
The cleaning lady did stop to see if we needed anything. 👍

The room was clean and the bed was good. However, there were no cups of any kind provided. I went to the office to ask for some, and NO ONE was on duty. No one was in the office building. The only toiletries provide were two postage stamp sized soap bars. The towels were paper thin and felt like sandpaper. An argument occurred in the parking lot late at night, and no one intervened.

There was very limited breakfast every day. No sausages, gravy, eggs, juices and very little coffee. The pool was closed with green water and the weight room was closed with construction tools.

Sink looked it hadn't been cleaned, like someone dumped a full coffee filter down the drain. TV signal had a lot of interference and tv had no HDMI port. Breakfast was sparse and stale at 6:30am (available 6-9am). Ice machine was a countertop unit on the breakfast line. No vending machine.

Bed was comfy though. Good toiletry quality.

I had already been 1 week before in this hotel to use it as a half -destination stop. The experience was very good. There were not many people at the hotel and there was no noise. They say in the hotel promotion they offer breakfast but it is very limited. It is more than a quick and go. Upon returning home I stopped to spend the night as a midpoint of destination. I chose the same room again. The front desk attendance that attended me was very kind. The room was clean again but noticed a strange smell but did not give importance. As at 9pm when I open the bathroom door I felt a smell of strong marijuana smoke that came out through the ventilation duct of the bathroom. I know the hotel has no control of that but thanks to the situation my stay was not the best as in the previous occasion.

Advertised. Breakfast included. 8:30am there were only a few slices of bread 6 waffle and juice They need to remove breakfast included if it’s not provided. Room and bed were fairly comfortable , lots of bugs crawling around. Driveway to hotel has poor lighting
