Booked a room with a balcony and mountain view through Expedia — got neither. When I raised the issue, the staff were rude and dismissive. After my review, they offered a room change on our final day, which felt like too little, too late.

The general manager did refund our parking fee since they couldn’t provide the room we paid for, but that small gesture didn’t make up for the overall experience.

The rooms are outdated. This is not a boutique hotel — the overall vibe is more tired 3-star hotel than upscale alpine retreat.

The Austria House is a beautiful property! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. It is conveniently located in the heart of Vail Village, close to restaurants and shopping. We will definitely be back for a return visit.

Pros:

As a repeat guest the experience was as good or better than before ( it was just at the end of Covid restrictions). Parking is expensive at $60 per night but that’s Vail where there is no convenient parking.
Will definitely return and recommend!
