We had a great stay in St Pete! Plus our valet attendant, Taylor, was so kind to our daughter. Can’t wait to go back soon!
My stay at Hilton Bayfront was very good — comfortable room, clean facilities, and a convenient location. Unfortunately my positive experience was marred by a serious billing and customer service issue.
Days after checkout I was wrongly charged for valet even though I never had a vehicle. I waited for my deposit to be returned, called multiple times, and was repeatedly hung up on by staff. The front desk was unable to resolve the situation in a timely manner and I was told I now have to wait two weeks for a refund for their error. This level of service is unacceptable. Please address your billing controls and train staff to handle guest concerns respectfully and promptly. I’d like to return someday, but this experience needs correcting before I can recommend the hotel without reservation.
Location was nice
The room quality was below average
We came to Tampa Area from Deland, FL for a University of Florida Architecture School Alumni gathering called Chomp in the Trop.
We stayed one night at the Hilton St Pete Bayfront. Staff unfriendly at check in and didn’t recognize me as a Hilton Honors Member which is corporate protocol. Beds were comfy. Room stank. Couldn’t control HVAC. Pool was filthy and only one beach towel on the shelf. No free coffee bar in lobby like other hotels. At breakfast, dressed in our Tampa Bay Rays attire, we presented a gift card to the waitress, waitress balked and said we had to use the buffet, not menu to order. The buffet was excellent, though even for our vegan friends. However, at the end of our meal the waitress bullied us when we handed her the gift card and said, with her hand out, “The card doesn’t include gratuity.”
What did she think we were going to stiff her? We are extremely generous tippers to those in the service industry, even when it’s a self-serve buffet.
The location is convenient within walking distance of Publix, the Looper Trolley to Tropics a Field and St Pete pier, but we will book the hotel across the street next time. At least we had a good time at the Tampa Bay Rays game. Beat Cleveland Guardians 3-0.
Disappointed!!!!
Ease of access, affordable, great rooms and location
Parking is terrible.
The tub was slightly slippery. We slipped a little, luckily we didn't hurt ourselves. It needs grips or a mat. I requested a mat, that they could not provide. The mattress in the pull out couch3, needs a new mattress. Not comfortable.
Lobby is very nice. Misleading when you get into the room. Very dated. Barely any lighting in the bathroom. Was not impressed knowing this is a Hilton property. We got the King room with parlor. Would not recommend. Couch was stained and musky smell in room. Waste of an anniversary trip. Also our room was right at the elevators. Checking in was fast plenty of help. Checking out was slow. Only 1 person on the desk.
Breakfast was good but priced higher than necessary.
Cold showers every morning during our stay. Definitely not an expectation of a Hilton.
I stayed the night of May 31st.
Upon entering the room, the TV didn’t work.
They sent maintenance in to fix it and never was able to get it to work.
I got ready and went to my concert, when I got back I showered and the water would not drain in the tub.
When I went to get in bed there was something that looked like blood along the left side of the sheets, I also found a washcloth with the same blood looking substance on it.
I reported all of this and was basically just told to “have a good day” by the man that checked me in.
The icing on the cake is that I was charged a security deposit, the man who checked me in assured me it would be back in my account within 7-10 business days. I called over 1 month later and was told they don’t owe me anything.
If I paid a deposit and got NOTHING back, how would they not owe me the price of the deposit back?
Location
Valet staff
Room and bed were quite comfortable. Hotel staff was very accomodating.
The cleaning staff respected the Do Not Disturb sign and stayed out. The pillows and bed were very soft and comfortable. There is a back gate with key access that leads to Publix, which is an amazing advantage.
We were automatically charged an extra $500 for valet which we did not use (we only used valet for a couple of hours on the first day, and switched to using the public garage near by after that - SouthCore public parking garage at Pinellas Trail and 1st St S). Valet is $45 per day, public garage is $16 per day. I called the front desk to fix the extra charge, and the agent tried to pass the buck, saying that it's a 3rd party booking and that booking.com can take care of that. After some pressure, he agreed that he is the only one who can fix the problem, and he easily refunded the extra $500 that were charged by mistake.
