Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel

I’ve attended many conferences at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel, but this was my first time hosting my own event and staying as a guest — and the experience exceeded every expectation.

For two days, my room became my home. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful, allowing me to focus fully on our event. The front desk team greeted me with a smile each time I passed by, creating a sense of warmth that truly stood out.
In fact, I felt so at home that I accidentally left my dress in the closet after checking out. Within minutes, the front desk connected with housekeeping, who had already found it, folded it neatly, and placed it in a bag. Rebecca, the Director of Rooms, personally brought it to me in the lobby.

That level of care is rare — and it made an already great stay even more meaningful. Grateful for teams who lead with kindness, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality.

This Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel has noticeably declined in both service and overall experience. I used to stay here regularly years ago, so when I needed a pre-cruise stay, it felt like an easy choice based on past visits. Unfortunately, it no longer reflects the level it once did.

The hotel now feels fairly standard, offering little that stands out beyond being a convenient place to stay for a night. Service was adequate, but not memorable, there was no bell assistance upon arrival, which was surprising.

Guest rooms are basic, and the bathrooms could definitely benefit from an update. On a positive note, the coffee shop serves good coffee along with excellent pastries. However, the restaurant is quite limited, primarily offering a buffet style breakfast with few additional options.

Overall, while it’s a decent overnight stay before a cruise, it lacks the character and elevated experience it once provided.

It was an amazing experience. Tanyka and Kendra treated me with care and respect. They were extremely helpful and resourceful in explaining the area and amenities. This is my first time staying at a Renaissance hotel and I would recommend staying at this location.

Very clean and good size room. Easy to self park. Nice lobby. The rooms do not have carpet which I really liked.. no issues with smell or dinginess.

I would like to take a moment to recognize one of your employees, Kendra, for the exceptional service she provided during my recent arrival at the Renaissance Hotel.

When I arrived at the front desk, there seemed to be an issue locating my reservation. I had just completed an 11-hour flight and it was already quite late, and I was understandably very tired. Despite the hotel being fully sold out that evening, Kendra remained calm, professional, and incredibly attentive.

Instead of simply explaining that there were no rooms available, she took the time to carefully look into the situation and explore possible solutions. I could truly feel that she was personally invested in helping me. After some time and effort, she managed to find a cancellation and was able to provide me with a room.

Her kindness, patience, and dedication made a huge difference in what could have been a very stressful situation after such a long journey. Because of her efforts, my arrival experience turned into a very positive one.

Please extend my sincere thanks to Kendra for her outstanding guest service. Employees like her truly represent the level of hospitality that guests hope to experience when staying at your property.

I have stayed here before and this property is consistently very good, nice comfortable and clean rooms, executive lounge with friendly staff, no extra parking or resort fees, and convenient location to get anywhere you need to be in south florida quickly

Lovely stay at this property. No issues, no complaints. Everything in the room worked, the bathroom and room itself was very clean, quiet, comfortable. Checking in and out was a breeze. Another reviewer mentioned that the local supermarket, Publix, is within walking distance and you have to go under the freeway to get to it, but that's not a problem. We felt safe at night walking in this area. The streets are busy, but the crosswalk signals make it easy to navigate. There's a Subway sandwich place in the same area as the Publix, so as a vegan I was able to get a Veggie Patty sandwich instead of trying to cobble something together from the Publix supermarket. Very handy.
