Very poor room in need of repairs and carpet breakfast no fruit not a 4star hotel maybe 3 asked for fish and chips in restaurant got what I can only call fishfinger not good need to spend money on rooms and food 😞
Another 5* experience at the Glenview Hotel. The rooms, staff and facilities are five star level at four star prices. The view is incredible and there is beautiful Wicklow to explore during the day.....it's faultless
Really pleasant weekend break with family. Rooms were clean and well stocked daily with liquid refreshments, Pool and gym were fine.We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night. Staff in Restaurant were so nice and friendly to deal with. Gary and Aine looked after 8 of us so well, Such nice people to represent the hotel. They made our experience extra special. Stayed in the bar the second night and had a very enjoyable evening. Food was decent. We were fairly tipsy going to bed ( Sure why not). Definitely recommend👍
Lovely hotel. Very clean. Staff very helpful especially the man in the Conservatory Bar. I am a very plain eater and couldn’t find anything to suit me on the menu. I didn’t get the man’s name but for my three nights stay he was very helpful and attentive. The room was very quiet which is what I asked for. The accommodation staff were very pleasant and friendly. My only GRIPE was the PILLOWS. For a four star hotel your pillows let you down big time. They are as flat as pancakes and hard. I asked on my second night could I have a new pillow which I got No Problem but it was exactly the same as the ones I had. 😞😞 I honestly would not return for a second time because of this. Or maybe I’ll just bring my own with me….
I would love to say it was perfect.... but I can't. We went primarily because we wanted the outdoor hot tub/jacuzzi... it wasn't working and had been out of action for a few days when we arrive, which mean the hotel took our booking knowing it was broken but choosing to take the money still without informing us or reducing the price to reflect this. Its sold as a 4 atar spa hotel... I wouldn't agree, I give it only 3
Plenty of parking, great food in the woodlands resteraunt. and great attentive staff.
Little dated and breakfast wasn't as great
FIRST THE GOOD NEWS: The staff was friendly, the hotel clean, the wooded paths offered a nice little exploration. The breakfast buffet had just enough variety of fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt and juices. All of this was complemented by high quality cooked-to-order hot menu items, served up in the Woodlands dining room, offering a lovely view of the sunrise over the hilltops.
THE MISSES: Our room was cold enough that we had to ask for an extra blanket. The wifi was so weak, that even an email connection would cut-out, forget streaming anything. Instead, we used our cell service to create a wifi hotspot.
Of course mattress preferences can be quite individual, and we found our mattress to be overly firm, not 4-star plush.
The bathroom had only one towel bar - certainly not enough hanging space for hand towels and bath towels. There was no lotion, no vanity kit (but they did offer two shower caps). Of course these items aren’t essential, but in a 4 star hotel, I would argue that they are expected.
THE SHAMEFUL: We dined in the Woodlands on Christmas Day at a cost of €195 per person, not including any wine or alcohol, to be paid in advance, non-refundable. For this cost, we expected a special menu. Instead, the menu choices mimicked the sample menu show on their website. If we were to order the most expensive items from their menu, the appetizer + main + dessert would total €81.40. We appreciate that we were able to dine on a day when most places are closed. We appreciate the staff who gave up their holiday time to work that day. What we didn’t appreciate is paying more than triple the usual price for a fine, but nothing-special meal. There was no amuse-bouche, no cheese course, no complimentary beverage, no table-side preparation. I have come to learn that inflating these prices for holidays is not uncommon. However, just because someone else does it, doesn't mean you should do it too.
I did share this extreme disappointment with management, and will acknowledge that they offered a personal reply. Will they change their ways and either stop holiday price-gouging OR offer an elevated experience for an elevated price?
Beautiful setting...gardens were wonderful.Great spots for sitting and relaxing
good food and very pleasant staff.
Rooms a bit too warm..but it was warm weather.
Evening meal was lovely, staff were friendly too. I would definitely stay here again.
Breakfast was amazing!!
Nothing
Very helpful and friendly staff, the food was amazing , the room was snug and clean. The location is brilliant with lovely gardens to go for a walk. Leisure centre was clean and had everything there. Brilliant staff overall. I will definetely be back again.
Good location and beautiful peaceful surroundings
The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable.
The room was extremely warm with inadequate ventilation as the windows had safety locks , and there was no air-conditioning to cool the room making a very hot and uncomfortable night.
Hotel was underwhelming. In my opinion, not worth the price.
Room, hotel was shabby.
We had a brief stay and as we were overnighting for a local wedding. The staff were excellent, professional and helpful. We were running rate and they secured us a taxi at short notice. Safety pin to my room for my dress. Room was very comfortable.
The shower was a bit dated but it worked.
