I liked the complimentary breakfast and that the hotel was right on the beach.
The room had a string musty odor, and there was a dead roach on the floor. The front desk came and swept and sorsyed air freshener that masked the smell for a little while. When you ran water in the bathroom, a perm or sewer smell filled the bathroom shortly after.
Close to the ocean, good breakfast, and price was decent for our stay in September.
We brought two dogs and the designated area for the dogs was up by the road. Not horrible but it would be nice to have more options.

I recently stayed at Hampton Inn Fort Walton Beach 2 nights in Fort Walton Beach Aug 28 - Aug 30with my family, having booked two rooms through Booking.com. I have been trying to reach the hotel by phone regarding this matter, but unfortunately my calls have gone unanswered.
I was charged a parking fee twice during my stay. However, according to my Booking.com confirmation (Reservation #6294931885), there is no mention of a parking fee anywhere in the booking terms.
As this charge was not disclosed at the time of booking, I kindly request a refund of the $60 (30 for each room/2 days) USD parking fee.
This was actually my first time booking accommodation through Booking.com, so I would appreciate your understanding and prompt assistance in resolving this matter.

The staff was really nice.
Our room was very dirty so we felt very uncomfortable. I cried the first day and just tried to enjoy what we could. We have stayed here before and the room the first time was so much nicer.
We asked for extra towels and never got them. I used small towels the last day to dry off from my shower before the airport and it was frustrating.
My TV didn't work when I arrived. I spent one night without service. It was repaired the next day.
It's okay, dated and old
The only reason the hotel gets a 2 is because if the friendly staff at the front desk. Otherwise the rating would be a 1. The beach is perfect. They clean every other day. They did not not make my bed once while I was there. The front desk however, was nice to give me towels and trash bags as needed. I made my own bed as I do at home every day. The floors were so were dirty. I threw away all of my socks when I left because I didn’t want to bring them home. All of my clothes smelled absolutely terrible when I got home from the smell in the room. I washed everything whether it had been worn or not. The whole time I was there I just kept thinking I wished I was home where everything was clean.

Great Beach access!!! Steps from the sand! Breakfast was great- different entrees daily! Staff was very kind and responsive- Front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast attendants!
Pool is TINY! Outside of property is lackluster- questioned my booking decision when we arrived before walking in. Heavy construction on the streets surrounding- allow lots of extra drive time!

Older hotel, rooms weren’t as clean as we would’ve liked.
While this is a small and unassuming hotel, the rooms were very clean. Beds are comfortable. The grounds are clean. Beach access could not have been easier and there was not an influx of rental chairs on the beach directly behind the hotel, so setting up our own stuff was a breeze. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to park and use the amenities well before our check in time. It is right at a very busy intersection, so traffic was a little hectic, but that’s not the hotels fault, just something to be aware of!
It was in the perfect location. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Checking in was easy and pleasant. The beds were very comfortable best night sleep I had in a while.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about property. There was only one employee that I thought that didn’t look or act pleasant and it was an older lady working in the kitchen area during breakfast. She may have just been having a bad day.
