Super 8 by Wyndham Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo Area

We have stayed here before and recommended it for those not wanting to pay for the Hilton. Sadly, it has chamged.

Staff were atrocious. Rude, condescending, and simply don't care.
The room for 2 women was placed next to a room full of 50+ aged men that immediately knocked on our patio door when they saw us INSIDE our room, to invite us to party..... We asked to have our room changed and were scoffed at, told there were no more rooms,.but it was easy to see the empty suites ....The 4 men were drunk and loud and cursed us for asking them to leave us alone, and continued smoking and drinking long into the night. The hotel has turned into a home for many crackheads and homeless which is the sign of the times, but dont recommend staying here for an event, as women. Many construction workers as well stay there during contracts. They were cool, but there was a lot.

Breakfast was waffles and cereal, as celiacs we couldn't even get a banana.

The hotel. Very dirty, rooms were dirty, stains on bedding & walls, towels were supposed to be white, nope! Floors were dirty, baseboards were disgusting! Shower curtains were disgusting! The room smelled, the whole hotel smelled (wet dog, BO, smoke & a$$) 🤢 We had to leave!

Hotel receptionist was nice and accommodating, she did give us another room. It was a nicer room, bigger, but still not that great and the smell was still there, so we declined & canceled our stay there.

Toilet was sitting at an angle - rocked and may be missing seal. Only one electrical plug at bedside and therefore can't charge multiple items or plug in equipment. Fridge had a lot of free flowing water on the shelves. Very small television.

Containers at the breakfast should be labeled so you know what was offered - didn't know what was in a container unless you physically opened it - need labels.

Smell

It was not clean, we did not feel safe with children, the only bonus was the person who checked us in was very kind. We asked for our money back for one day and still have no idea if that's even happening. We couldn't stay because we did not feel safe and left 45 minutes after checking in as we were trying to find another hotel to stay at. There was sheets or something stuffed under peoples doors, people were smoking in there rooms, glass at one of entrances was broken, the door was propped open with a carpet. It just wasn't a place for a family that's for sure.

I was looking to stay monthly since I was living in a tent but there was no option to.

This is the first time my confirmed booking was cancelled. The receptionist offered me a different room because he said my booking was cancelled. I didn't receive any email from the property. He said there was one room available and showed it to me. At first, I was okay with it, so we took it, but after staying there for 30 minutes, we couldn't take it anymore! We needed to cancel it. The room was disgusting, with heavy smoke fumes, and the bed sheets still had hair on them. The hallway also smelled.

The customer service was a joke.
Got charged for two queen beds and was in a room with two double beds.
False advertising and you will not get what you paid for.

This is not a quality place everything needs improvement.

Le lavabo de la toilette était bouché. Les toilettes ne fonctionnaient pas correctement. Nous nous sommes plaint et le problème a été résolu le lendemain.
