We recently stayed here in the maldron hotel Oranmore really enjoyed it the staff in the bar were very friendly Lorcan the bar was great at suggesting cocktails and drink offerings along with the food which we truly enjoyed. Jason the manager was very helpful getting us a table promptly and going through the menu and specials. All in all we had a great evening. We definitely will be back.
This hotel is a short drive on the east side of Galway city. I could imagine that the traffic is heavy at certain times of the day.
It's perfect for a family. We had three children with us. The pool was excellent to have. Just be aware that it is open to the public as well as hotel guests. The games room is in bad need of modernising.
It was the night of the Late Late Toy Show and they had a room all set up for families wanting to watch it.
The dinner we had there was great and breakfast too. I would recommend staying here.
I met up with a friend in The Maldron Hotel, and we decided to eat in the bar restaurant as we just wanted to have something small, The place is very nice and selection of food is super, However, one of the staff members that was dealing with us, leaves a lot to be desired. We sat at the table, and after ten minutes , nobody came to us, so i went to coffee counter and asked for a menu. The girl never spoke and grabbed two menus and threw them in the counter, I returned to my table and after a few minutes we were ready to order. I again had to get her attention, as she was not looking up from behind counter to check . Now there were three tables being used, so she was not busy. When we ordered, i pacifically asked that no chips be served with my sandwich as i cannot eat them. She did not say a thing or ever look at us, just her head down and writing away, Our food arrived, and she placed mine down and there was chips on it, I asked her why as i had ordered it without them. To my amazement , she grunted” well that’s the way they come” .. i was taken aback , by her rudeness, and so were my friends , with her sharp answer. During our meal we asked her for a pot of hot water, as the tea was too strong, She got the pot of hot water, and banged it on the table, resulting in water splashing out, I just looked up at her and she had a puss on her. I have eaten many times there over the years, and this was the first time , i had to.complain. Not good enough, and i always leave a tip, but this time, it wasn’t deserving of it. Maybe a little customer training might help.,The waitress name was Emma, according to her badge.. It’s a shame that our experience was so negative,
Had carvery lunch in the dining room today and everything was perfect.
The chef who served us was so pleasant and this made all the difference.
When I went to pay the young girl at the register named Ava was also very pleasant and I thought there and then I must do a review on my experience.
Afterwards we went into the bar to have a coffee and dessert and again the staff there were also pleasant.
Well done to all of you, and I will definitely recommend this establishment to all my friends as I live nearby in ORANMORE .
Stayed here for one night for our visit to elf town! A beautiful hotel, beautiful spacious room! Had dinner in the bar, that’s where things went a small bit sour! Tv not working where we were seated,so couldn’t watch a match that me an my sons were looking forward to,went to the bar to get a drink, barman was rude and abrupt & had to wait an unnecessarily long time to receive my drinks, was still waiting on one and when he came to me,I was greeted with “what else do you want” not the correct way to greet a paying customer. When we ordered our food,it was brought out an even though it was nice,we were still waiting on some items and when we asked,it was still 20 minutes before it appeared and by then I was going up to pay! When my wife said everything was nice expect for the items we didn’t receive, she was asked if we wanted them now and to be honest the server didn’t really seem to care!
Was here a year ago. And it was reasonable, basic and practical.
Here last week and I eill never be back ever again.
The cost of the bar and food in bar has easily doubled.
Meal for 2 adults, 2 kids.. €176 !!! Crazy stupid and staff didnt listen.
Never ever again will I say here, I dont mind paying for quality., etc. But this was ridiculous
Arrived on Friday and checked in, then I went down to the cafe in the bar which has nice coffee. The leisure centre is one of the Club Vitae ones there are very good and the pool is a big pool, when we went to the pool it was busy but after about 5 minutes it got really quiet. Now I'll rate everything out of 5
Food:4/5 it is quite pricey but at least it's nice and they change their menu every week on a rotation I don't know how many menus there are.
Room:4/5 it's the basic room but it does have a lot of storage and a spacious bathroom
Staff:5/5 staff are friendly
Other things to know: there's a kids club on the 1st floor
Bring ur key everywhere as in the lifts and stairs there's a scanner that will only grant you access with the key
I've been here about 5 times and it's always excellent
Our room was great and bed comfy.
The Maldron Hotel and Leisure Center desk staff welcomed us warmly. They were helpful and knowledgeable in regard to attractions in Galway City and Oranmore. It was @ 10 miles from the hotel to Galway City. There is a car park at the hotel location. The breakfast is included and offers many choices. This hotel had a heated pool, which might be of interest to families. The leisure center seemed very popular with the other patrons. This hotel just seemed a little worn around the edges.
We have stayed here several times in the past. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The lobby is spacious with seating which was welcoming.
The rooms have been upgraded. The beds were comfortable with great pillows. I asked for another pillow which was almost instantly delivered to the room.
The bathrooms have been upgraded with an excellent shower. The lighting was wonderful in both the room and the bathroom.
The breakfast buffet was great with a wonderful selection of hot and cold foods. The staff were very courteous.
We ate dinner at the hotel. The food was wonderful with a varied menu. Service was very good,
We did use the pool which helped with relaxation after a long drive.
We would stay at this hotel again.
I stay in maldron Oranmore for business trips and leisure. This hotel has the home from home feel. Staff throughout the hotel are welcoming helpful and friendly. My room is spacious and is always spotless. My extras are always in my room on arrival (extra towels, fan, fridge etc). Beds are comfy. Plenty of parking for free. Leisure facilities are very good.i haven't tried the restaurant but the bar food is good. Lamb shank is my favorite. This hotel is great value for money. Great location to access all major motorways. This hotel is great for any sort of trip be it family trip /business .
10/10 to all the staff for always making my trips enjoyable.
Stayed 4 nights on business.
Room had a double and a single bed (single occupancy)
The room was comfortable with complementary bottles of water and biscuits each day.
Shame there was no in room safe as this meant I needed carry all my valuables with me when I left the room.
I did find that there was a lot of road noise until late at night and again from 5am onwards in the morning. Secondly double glazing would be of benefit here.
Also I was woken up on the last night/morning at 2.00am with loud banging noises from downstairs, possibly from the bar or restaurant.
I would therefore not recommend room 119 for this reason.
Overall, an ok stay, but try and get a high floor facing the back of the hotel closer to the spa end.
This hotel and its staff were lovely...very clean spacious room...happy staff who were so helpful...we dere late for breakfast and the breakfast staff said not to worry...set a table for us brought croissants and yogurt and tea and toast and couldn't have been more helpful...its only a short walk ( around 15 minutes ) into the lovely village of Oranmore with its lovely restaurants and pubs there was great music and so many happy friendly people we had a lovely time.
Staff all very helpful and pleasant. The room was very presentable at first impressions, even a small box of chocolates!
On my second evening, I had dinner in the bar. It was a disappointment.
On the morning I was leaving, when I went into the bathroom I noticed silverfish running for cover as soon as I switched on the light. Not pleasant as I don’t want to inadvertently carry any back home. This was not a nice find in an otherwise pleasant room. I mentioned it to reception as I left, who were very pleasant and thanked me for informing them.
We stumbled upon this hotel as we were getting our hire car fixed nearby and needed to while away 3 hours. We had lunch in their restaurant, and it was actually one of the best meals we have had during our road trip in Ireland. Really tasty hot meal, all fresh vegetables, very generous serve and one of the cheapest meals to date. Plus we were able to charge our phones and the atmosphere was great.
Excellent Gluten Free options.
I wasn't staying at the hotel but stopped off here and was delighted to find a breakfast buffet to suit all- even us Coeliacs!
They have their own GF station with a GF toaster and not only gf bread.. but GF croissants! Also tasty gf granola abd cornflakes. A rare find!
Lovely staff and a lovely experience- not having to ask what was safe to have as a coeliac because everything is labelled with allergen lists.
Fab!
Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and very tasty.
Hotel room was clean, good amount of space and the bathroom was of a good size for a family.
The Swimming Pool being attached to it is a godsend and it was great to get in there. It's busier in the evening than the morning, but theres a lifeguard and things for the kids to use in there as well.
There's also a kids playroom that is manned in the evening with all sorts of things for all ages.
The bar, restaurant and coffee rooms looked clean with plenty of offering but we didn't frequent them in the evening.
Friendly, helpful staff all over the hotel.
Highly recommended for a stay in Galway, and if we return in the future, will definitely stay here again.
15 minutes to the racecourse, even with festival traffic was a huge bonus
Stopped in for lunch with family.
Great choices ,nice fresh colourfull salad bar and sambas made to order.
Had the beef featherblade, lovely and tender chef mike was a pleasure to deal with on the carvery
A very pleasant stay. Rooms were basic but very clean. Staff were lovely, hotel was very family friendly. Activities for the kids and a games room to play. The pool was heated also which was great and a shallow area for the kids as well as the main pool. Even the changing rooms in the pool were clean. Very impressed for the price.
Chef Dean made the most delicious chef special of fish potatoes and veg I cleared the plate it was so good. It was the Sunday of the all Ireland football. The women had burgers and chips very tasty. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend stopping by for food.
