The hallway to our room smells like smoke, and my daughter found a hair in her rice when we were having dinner. Quite dissatisfied to say the least, but the beds are comfy for all of us and the staff aren't so rude. There was also a part of our cupboard broken, don't suggest going there.
From start to finish this hotel and staff is just amazing. Very warm welcome, helped us to book a table for dinner. Lovely bedroom spotlessly clean. Dinner and breakfast were bother excellent, good quality hot and fresh.
Easy check out. Car parking convenient (don’t forget to pay) I did but a quick phone call and the hotel helped sort this.
Highly recommend and wil defiantly stay again
We booked this hotel in february 2022, got confirmation over email. Arrived at the hotel for a nights stay in august before a long transatlantic flight the next day, to be wafted away and told to 'go over the road we're closed' by a man at a desk by the front door. After much to-and-fro we got the manager to come down and he explained the hotel has been closed for over a year and has been taken over by the home office to house refugees! So why on earth were we ever allowed to book a room? DO NOT BOOK HERE.
When we arrived the hotel was closed and we had to find somewhere else!
Full of immigrants
Horrible. This place is full of refugees, they all hang around outside, what is going on with this place??? They need to sort it out otherwise they will have no customers. This is a disgrace and disgusting. Sort it out!!!!!
Manager Mukesh was exceptional. We stay here twice a year and book over the phone and get the best price as hotel offer discount if you book with them. Friendly, caring and helpful staff. So staying at skylane hotel is a pleasure.
I have too say. I was unsure about the hotel after reading some reviews. Don't even worry. For the money we paid, it has too be the best value for money for hotels we have stayed in from the time we walked in it was good customer service. The room was clean and all the services it stated in the ads. Perfect sky lane thanks you for a great stay and we will see you again on the 29th as we fly out again.
I've booked to stay at best western for 2 rooms and 1 night on 31st of July, I've booked this about a week ago,
I've got the Confirmation saying everything is good. Just had a phone call today saying you can't stay he because the hotel is closed for Refugees, absolutely shocking. You think best western would be crying out for people to stay.
I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDED BEST WESTERN TO ANYONE .
We arrived late and had to move rooms because of a dozen large bugs in one of the beds. The second room appeared to be fine. We checked the double bed for my 6ft 16 year old and I relaxed by having a bath. By the time I was out of the bath, he was asleep and I discovered different small bed bugs / flee like animals. By this time it was too late to move again, my son asleep and I was exhausted after driving with an early flight next day. Next morning no one was there to talk to.

TV was digital so lots to choose from.
This hotel has adequate sized rooms, and was satisfyingly clean. The TV was a reasonable size, the decor drab and a view out of the window of a brick wall. In short, it's a functional place to stay. However, I would advise to take your own breakfast or leave a bit early and find somewhere locally while the kitchen is closed due to Covid-19. A nominal cheap yogurt, two small plain croissants (no butter or jam), an apple and a pouch of blackcurrant squash are not worth £7.95 of your hard-earned.

Hotel was clean, although only experienced room and reception as bar/restaurant was closed due to Covid restrictions I'm assuming.
Evening meal was room service only, but was delicious and well presented.
Breakfast however was delivered the night before in a small carrier bag, consisting of a yoghurt, 2 x chocolate muffins, an apple and a Capri Sun (but no fridge to put any of it in).

Initial impression was of a very dilapidated hotel. The car park surface was badly broken up in many places. The atmosphere felt dreary, mainly due to the fact there only seemed to be 1 or 2 guests. Reception was unmanned except for arrival, a telephone number was shown on reception for emergencies. No instructions available to switch on bathroom towel tail heater. Shower was like standing under a waterfall, it had a very poor shower head. No hot breakfast available. This may have been a better place prior to Covid when there would have been more guests
Excellent for a one night stay in order to fly out from Gatwick the next day. The fact that they have airport parking as well helps a lot, literally parked the car when we got there, Hotel is not offering shuttle bus now as very limited guest at the hotel. Very professional staff with manager who cooked Indian curry for us with rice and naan bread. room were spotless and very clean. Will stay here again when fly from Gatwick.
Very basic rooms with no upto date conveniences. looks very tired and in need of updating throughout.
Strange place, it seemed as if someone turned up the same time as us to let us in, the bathroom was like ice, someone came to sort it out, but we realised in the morning that it was on a timer, and we didn’t have time to wait for it to warm up, had to order dinner and pay for it as soon as we got in the room, and had to eat in our room, (don’t have fish and chips), we left at about 8 the next morning, and there wasn’t a sole there, had to drop our key in a box at reception, two of our party went to put stuff in our car and couldn’t get back in, had to ring the one left in the room to come and open the door, all very eerie. They don’t do breakfast thankfully.
Once again a great stay at d skyline hotel. Warm welcome by the Manager on arrival. Rooms all equipped, cleaned comfortable.
RESTAURANT was open in d evening we find great freshly cooed food and reasonable prices served by the Manager. Who certainly takes care of your everyneed in the hotel. He s polite, very friendly .. and does not stop all evening and tries to please everyone.
Will use this hotel again in future.
