The resort has been closed for a year. Why the hell would you keep booking there. It was just a stroke of luck that we found another place to stay. This was a very important event for us. Shame on you
It was closed
The hotel is getting renovated, and there's no one there. We were the only tenants, and the hotel was shut down. I received no email from the owners letting me know it was under major renovations. The pictures are not what the hotel looks like at all. The condition of the build was in bad shape.
No free breakfast or any food offered. No restaurant or bar as advertised when booking
Correct address and true description of what was not available.
The location in Winter Park was the primary reason we stayed. While antiquated, we enjoyed the "nastalgic" feeling of being there.
We asked twice for facilities help and did not get any. We were expecting to be able to use the swimming pool but it was closed. We were expecting to be able to use the hot tubs, but it was closed. This degraded our stay quite a bit.
Never got refund of duplicate booking. Stayed in other room which was quite nice.
Never got refund of duplicate booking. Booking.com and Winter Park Mountain lodge kept blaming the other but never refunded money.
Nice property close to slopes and on bus route. The bus was a game changer for easy access to the slopes and includes parking door the day on the slopes. Nice, simple rooms. Great value this close to the slopes.
Great location. Ski resort just across the highway. Frequent and convenient free local bus picks you up at hotel and drops you off at the ski resort
Great location and price, Our room was clean, Employees were nice and helpful. Downside was no breakfast was offered and the pool and hot tub were not working. Property could use some updates. Overall I will stay here again.
We stayed here in March of 2025. After we booked it, I got a little concerned by the negative reviews I read, but I'm happy to say that the negative reviews were off the mark. We were quite satisfied with every aspect of our stay here and had no problems or complaints whatsoever.
Checking in was as easy as anywhere and the staff was friendly. Our room was up to the standard of any other hotel--bathroom was clean and stocked, plenty of towels, room was clean, nothing was broken, beds were fine, and had a nice view out of the windows. It left me wondering if the people who left negative reviews had even stayed at the same place.
I rented skis from the on-site shop, and again, everything was easy and up to standard. It was very convenient and no complaints.
We didn't use the shuttle because we drove up there and it isn't very hard to drive across the street. So I can't comment on the shuttle service.
Was it a 5-star luxury hotel comparable to something on the Las Vegas strip? No. But that's not what we were expecting. It was a hotel next to ski resort, with the primary purpose being a place to sleep and store stuff when not skiing. It had nice clean rooms and everything we needed for that purpose.
Clearly, it does show signs of age and wear, but so what? From what I saw and experience, I can only conclude that the people who have left negative reviews either had uniquely bad experiences that don't represent the norm, or (more likely) they're just whiner's who want to leave negative reviews if everything isn't exactly perfect and at 5-star level. I certainly found this place to be a decent place to stay and I would stay there again.
Property was broken down, staff not friendly
There was a bad smell to the property, pool and hot tub closed, always out of coffee, I could go on and on
Pool was out of order, lights in the bathroom didn't work, soap in the room wasnt available, no breakfast at all, room service didn't speak english
Hallway had a funky smell. Blowdryer and TV didn't work until someone came to fix the TV but never got to use the blowdryer. Asked the front desk for spoons and waited 10 minutes until we eventually left. I asked the bar for spoons and two glasses, the first glass they gave me had a ton of sunflower seeds in it, and I only got one spoon. Elevator sounded like it was about to break.
Employees we're nice and meant well but overall not a great experience.
Bed was comfortable, bathroom was dated but clean. I would have liked a way to get from the resort to the slopes (cabriolet) without driving. A walkway across the street and over the hill towards the Vintage and tubing slopes would have been great.
Parking was full twice (with some apparently abandoned vehicles) and we had to circle around, and/or 4x4 into a spot.
It had a funny gas like smell. A family thought it ok to have their dog run up and down the hallway between 9-10 pm every night. (Ski races mean very early rising )
I did ask about a gym but was told no. I wish she had told me there's a huge room up stairs for stretching and movement. Found out just before leaving. Our room had the garage door noise everytime a car came in and the ventilation system was very loud during cycling of the heat. It was the least expensive so am grateful for that but some throngs could be better.
Restaurant closed during the week in the middle of the ski season.
Not able to walk to the ski area and there is no convenient shuttle to town or the ski facilities.
Buyer beware...this hotel should not be open to guests. The building is unsanitary and unsafe—it needs to come down. My room was at the end of a hallway where there were no room numbers, paint and wallpaper pealing off the walls and my room was deplorable. It smelled like something died in a defunct ice maker, and the bed had the posters sawed off. The curtains were not attached, and there was no temperature control. The onsite restaurant was overpriced and the food was not appetizing. The pool is unusable, with the temperatures being warmer than a hot tub and no towels. There was no toilet paper in our room, or blankets on our bed. I wouldn't stay here again if you had paid me the rate I paid. Honestly, I would not let my worst enemies spend a night here.
Wonderful properly location wise and love floor to ceiling windows mostly and location. Rooms and amenities are quite dated though, I think though property got fair price-value for the area. I would not pay more than $150 for room there.
