The person at the front desk was wonderful. Her name is Gabby.
We didn’t like the parking, but they credited the amount for us and there was a lot of construction going on there but expected
I travel frequently for work and leisure, and this property is the worst I've ever experienced. The carpet animal odors are stiffling, the "secure" outside doors are NOT secure, there is old, dilapidated furniture, and the AC does not cool properly. DO NOT stay in this hotel. Ever.
Nothing
My reservation was cancelled by the establishment 24 hrs before arrival
Glad our stay was only for one night. The hallway smelled of mold and the room was a big disappointment. We were on the first floor in building one and had a window air conditioner in the living area so there was no way to close the curtains in that area. Directly outside our window were the containers and Pods for construction so there was a lot of noise and activity right outside our room. The electrical panel was opened and there was silver tape around it. The shower area was moldy and the bath tub looked like the finish was scrubbed off . In the morning we noticed that most of the other first floor room had a window air conditioner but the upper floors did not, nor did the other buildings. We almost always stay at a Marriott property, and this is the first time we were so very disappointed.
When we arrived at 9:30 PM we were informed our reservation had been canceled.
They canceled our reservation without notice. We arrived after traveling over 12 hours and were informed our room was not available. They told us they tried to call and email. They did not. They lied. They sent us to another hotel that was not near where we needed to be
So I had reservation for this Sunday June 7th for 1 night. I always check if prices go down on app. Well seemed there are no available rooms this week or the next nor the Sunday I booked. So I looked up if they are refurbishing rooms. Yes said Google ..which is great. I called tonight (4 days from my stay) and asked if they are refurbishing..yes we are. So asked “do I have a room”. He said ‘let me check’….’no, no you don’t’. Mind you I haven’t received an email, text or a call about this…I was the one who called them. I said ‘can I change to the 28th of June for same price’. He replied ‘Yes but the price is 195 but for your trouble I can give to you for 175’. .and that’s without the tax. I had it for 161 with the tax…I said no thank you I’ll go to Hilton. He said ‘do you want me to cancel’. Well obviously if I have no room..which I booked in April. Imagine if I didn’t call to check and got off a plane and got to hotel for them to say sorry out of luck! Mind you I also just yesterday got an email from them if I want to upgrade my room there. Which I tried but it said no available upgrades (which is normal this late)
I’ve been going to this hotel literally since they opened years and years ago. No more.
It was beautiful and scenic, multiple activities for the family
We ordered a king size bed but they gave us a queen
basically like sleeping outside with the crappy curtains and doors
This is a dog friendly hotel that stinks of dog urine not only in common areas but in the rooms as well. It smells dirty, is not well maintained and fails to properly advertise itself as a dog hotel. Not good for those traveling for work, for kids with allergies to dander, or those not wanting to smell dog pee their entire stay.
The hotel is forcing me to leave 1 week early, tomorrow, because the front desk employee, OMAR, did not put the correct notes in my reservation. I had to change rooms so that I could stay an additional week. Omar showed me 4 available rooms to accommodate that. He said "the room was mine until May 2, one week later, and that he would take care of putting the notes im the system." He did not, and they re-booked the room. Now there are no rooms. I am here on business and have been here for almost 2 weeks. They are not doing anything
I didn’t like anything because it’s not safe and secured. Anyone can access the building off of the street and access the elevators and there are no cameras anywhere. there’s only 1 person on staff all night for the whole property which is very large, 6-8 buildings total. Pool was dirty place is horrible. Will never stay there or refer anyone else there.
They messed up my reservation and the front desk guy was rude. He didn’t want to help me because the booking was done through booking.com and they weren’t responsible for changing anything. All the access doors were unlocked so anyone could just walk into the property, no cameras and no staff all night just 1 person at the front desk that was like a 5 min drive from where we stayed. We had to leave our personal belongings at a family members house because we didn’t trust our stuff there. Horrible experience. Will never go back.
The breakfast but the coffee needs to be a bit stronger. The tvs should be upgraded. Other than that the staff wa great and the room was nice sized and comfy.
No ice cream .
Stayed here on New Years Eve to be close to a venue we were celebrating. As a family, we frequently travel and have stayed in all sorts of accommodations with great and not so great experiences, so we normally don't have too many things to complain about, but this particular stay was overall just problematic.
As a Bonvoy member, booked a standard studio suite with a king bed, and received email confirmation of the same. Upon arriving at the hotel, was told that I was in a queen 1 BR (slightly bigger room, but smaller bed). Realized the room in the app had changed as well. Front desk told me "the app probably booked something we didn't have". OK for me, not a big deal, I have a bed. Was placed in building 2. NJ is a leaf friendly state these days, and normally I dont have any issues with it, but walking into the building, I felt like I was in a dispensary, the hallways reeked of the pot smell, not bad for adults but not great for kids. Arrived at my room, which faced the parking lot, meaning if blinds were open, people are looking directly into the room from their cars. Found the bed (was a twin bed, NOT a queen bed). Room was clean and furnished properly, but bed was definitely NOT a queen as advertised, so I now went from a reserved king to a much smaller bed.
Being that it was NYE, we didn't plan to stay in the room very long, just have our night out, and come back and crash in the room.
Before the evening out, we attempted to watch the football games that were on, the cable in the room (satellite I guess) was terrible, the signal froze every 30 seconds and half the channels didnt work, wound up watching from our phones.
The next morning, there had been a light snowfall, and the landscaping company was out and about with leafblowers and plows at 8am (great way to wakeup on New Years Day),so we decided to shower. Water never got above like 70 degrees, so we took a quick lukewarm shower.
Overall, probably not a bad place to stay if you are working in the area for a few weeks and want something roughly affordable. But for almost $200 a night, I expected alot more. Also, there is a $10 parking charge, which makes no sense because it's all self-park and there's no shortage of parking spaces.
Have stayed at much nicer RI than this, and no discredit to the Marriott family of hotels, but this one feels more like a Super 8 or something. The owners should consider either lowering the price, or putting serious investment into overhauling the property. At least for the price we paid, there should have been a complimentary breakfast or something.
Will not stay here again, at least not for convenience.
