The location was easy to get to and from from Downtown (especially 4th St). Hot breakfast, wine and cheese, and milk and cookies were awesome. We think we had a ghost like experience before we knew it was haunted. All the staff were very friendly and courteous. The room was very clean, nice, and quiet.
Nice historic inn very walkable to old Salem. The hotel provides milk and cookies in the evening and some similar fun amenities. The front desk staff during the day seemed disinterested in us however the night shift staff members was excellent. There are some ghost stories related to the 4th floor which the staff had no interest in discussing but can easily be found online (and we actually found out about from a server at a nearby Mexican restaurant).
It was so clean! People were so incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of the way to make us feel welcome! It was amazing. The whole hotel is just precious. It’s definitely won out in the charm department! Great great great location and wonderful accommodations. Beds were so comfortable and the sheets, quilts-they really went the extra mile! Loved it!

Our suite was very comfortable, clean and well laid out. The atmosphere was nostalgic and we enjoyed it very much.
We loved the location, cleanliness and history.
Very well cared for and as a guest we felt very welcomed
Transformation of a very old building to a unique hotel was awesome. Rooms were very large, beds very comfortable, clean, relaxing.
Hot water took a long time coming, and adjusting the tub water temp was a bit sketchy trying to get hot water. Refrigerator actually was set too cold, so it froze everything we just wanted to be cool. . If it was something the staff could have mentioned, this would be "10".
Everything was wonderful. I was especially surprised by the milk and cookies.

What a beautiful and picturesque hotel. Extremely friendly, clean and peaceful.
Historic
All was great
Beautiful facility.
The room size, decor, breakfast, staff, parking, location, amenities, excellent! I was scouting for a location to bring a group for a retreat I'm planning and it fits in nicely with my needs. The breakfast is so great, and the happy hour and milk and cookies, although not my bag, sure are nice things to advertise for retreat guests - having everything you might want is nice. The patio and outdoor spaces, proximity to restaurants and Old Salem and even downtown is great. it's easy to find and get to from the highway and you don't have to deal with downtown traffic. The historical context and motif is a plus. The staff were all unfailingly full of on-point Southern hospitality without being smarmy or inauthentic. Kudos to the management!
The bed was comfortable but slightly lumpy. I can tolerate this but for my retreat I'd love to be able to tell my clients that the beds are extraordinarily comfortable. The coffee maker and offerings were wonderful, but I was there for 3 nights and the supplies were not replenished, though the room was cleaned daily. I didn't see a safe - that might be nice for longer-term stays so people can stow their laptop or jewelry, etc. The towels are wonderful but I always notice the scent of bleach and bleached towels leach moisture from your skin. As a healer, I want my clients to feel very nourished and soft, natural fragrance towels are preferred. None of these are deal breakers, though.
