Traveled with our daughter and the two story room made it more conducive to getting dressed etc in the morning.
TV remote wasn’t working, but it was not that big of a deal. Room was still great.
This place is beautiful. The rooms are massive. The property itself is adorable.
Always a relaxing visit going back in time to enjoy the Brookstown Inn, Old Salem and the comforting Salem Cemetery. All within easy walking distance. Di Lisio Italian is across the street with a delicious menu and the Camino & Bobby Boy bakeries are nearby. And the Winston-Salem visitor center is located on the Brookstown Inn property. All around a great inn for a lot of things Winston-Salem.
This is our second stay at the Brookstown. We love the peaceful and historic atmosphere. The unique touches of a wine and cheese hour and cookies and milk in the evening make it special. The evening we were there, they ran out of cookies 15 minutes after they were scheduled to be set out. When I said something to the person at the front desk, he seemed put out, and said it would take 40 minutes to make more. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, and will return when we’re back in Winston Salem.
We stayed here for a night on a college tour trip. The rooms were huge, and warmly appointed with red brick and wood. The beds were extremely comfortable, too. My husband and I enjoyed the wine and cheese event in the evening, and my kids and husband took advantage of the breakfast which they said was the best of our trip - both are included with the room cost. And free parking, too. We would stay here again.
Our check inn was very good! The young man that helped us went above and beyond to make sure we had everything! It was a very pleasurable stay and the whole staff was great!
Service is always good...each room is unique and totally cool....food is always good. Love this place.
Environment and location
Every time I go to Winston Salem on business or pleasure, I love to stay at the Historic Brookstown Inn. I love the location and I love the history of the building. Here I am treated like family. Not just as another guest. Every afternoon after a day at work, I am greeted when I enter the lobby, "good afternoon Mr Ferguson" by a very nice young man at the desk. He always asks if there is anything I need. I also love the clean rooms and the very comfortable beds. I will always stay here when I travel to Winston Salem. Thank you.
Historic, beautiful downtown lodging with great beds and spacious rooms. Great value. Wi-fi was slow is only criticism.
Staff were very helpful. Location was convenient. History of the hotel was interesting and displayed well.
LOVED the room for my family of 5. SO cute, enough space, well kept. Loved the bakery next door with gluten free treats.
dogs barking next door. and could hear talking
Your hotel still best place to stay when visiting historic Winston Salem. Congratulations on improving your Wi-Fi, it was much better than last time.
Location is perfect for downtown adventures. Breakfast is fantastic, everything from hot meals to cold meals. The building is lovely, wonderful history. Will always stay here.
