Staff in all areas (breakfast, cleaning the rooms, reception) were friendly, cheerful, ready to help with any questions. Very good breakfast choices. It was nice to be served at the table. The location in the middle of the old town is unbeatable. Many sights and lots of cafes and restaurants are within walking easy distance.

Cons:

Be aware that the balconies are tiny and not usable for sitting outside. But with all the cafes with outside seating nearby, this is not an issue.

Special attention to customers.
Due to flight delays, we arrived late at night - the receptionist was waiting for us and greeted us with a smile at 4 am. He took care of everything.

An ideally located boutique hotel in Funchal
Pros:

Hotel Caju is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the oceanfront and the cathedral, and 15 minutes from the Old Town, the teleferico and Mercado dos Lavradores. The staff were friendly and always happy to help, and the breakfasts were excellent - particularly the pancakes!
