Lovely time away
Pros:

The staff were lovely and friendly. The dinner in the resturant was really nice. The room was nice and spacious and the view from the room of the lake was lovely too.

Good view, good breakfast.

Cons:

There is no kitchen area, nor are there any plates, knives, or forks, and no water tap available. The location is approximately 15 km from Rotorua, which limits access to food options. It is also too far for Uber, and hotel restaurant close by 9:30 PM.

Therefore, one might find themselves in a situation where ordering food from outside is not feasible, and internal ordering is also unavailable. Should you manage to acquire food yourself, there is no microwave to warm it. If you choose to consume it cold, please note the absence of plates, knives, and forks, as well as no water or a tap. Consequently, the value for money may be questionable.

Pros:

Pool and lake view although because it was raining, we didn’t really get to enjoy it.

Cons:

Broken trash can and breakfast issues. When we went for breakfast, it seemed like it was a one man band kitchen. He logged us in, and then went back to the kitchen. Almost no food on the trays, waited a bit, seemed no refill coming our way so we just got what was there.

I heard people who followed us complaining no more plates for them, there were also no glasses for juice and no water. Tables left with dishes, no one cleaning after them.

It was ok.
Pros:

I like view from room. The staff was friendly. The location was awesome.

Cons:

I did not like bed as we were and it is two single beds were joint together which made very uncomfortable sleeping we manage to sleep one side of bed so one of us is not feeling the partition.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at VR Rotorua Lake Resort, and what an incredible experience it was.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. Nestled on the beautiful shores of Lake Rotoiti, the resort offers breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and a relaxing escape from everyday life. Waking up to the lake and enjoying the serenity of Okawa Bay was simply magical.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well-appointed. The welcome basket and beautiful floral arrangement waiting for us were such thoughtful touches that made our anniversary feel extra special.
The resort grounds are stunning, with immaculate lawns, waterfront views, and plenty of activities to enjoy, including kayaking and tennis. Every corner of the property showcases the natural beauty Rotorua is famous for.
Breakfast each morning was outstanding, with an impressive selection of hot cooked options, fresh fruit, cereals, juices, and excellent coffee. We also enjoyed the dining experience at The Grill, where both the food and service exceeded our expectations.
What truly sets this resort apart is its exceptional staff. A special thank you to Vibha and Suditi for going above and beyond to make our anniversary memorable. Your kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care did not go unnoticed and made us feel incredibly valued throughout our stay.

Pros:

Location was fantastic. Was on the quiet side of town but still within driving distance of all the fun activities. Staff were exceptional and the food at the restaurant was fantastic.

Cons:

Room had a bit of a smell from being closed up so we had to open all the doors and windows to air it out. Other than that it was lovely!

Cons:

The breakfast was a letdown. The staff did everything however some of warming stations for the breakfast Just weren’t heating resulting in a cold breakfast. Not trim milk which I thought was a basic ask. Definitely for some room for improvement on the buffet breakfast.

Pros:

It had a very pleasant view. The suite was very comfortable with good facilities.

The manager on reception when I arrived was very supportive of my concerns re sulphur allergy. He also assured me the hotel doesn't get a sulphur smell. He was correct. There is no sulphur smell.
